Abstract

Cut Mutia Park is a city park which is an integral part and attached to the main courtyard of the mosque cut mutia. This park is a green open space that serves as a public space and generate the aesthetics of the city. There are seven critical elements that need to be studied to determine the public's perception of the park. Knowledgeable public perception of these elements, useful for city authorities in the development of city parks for future. The results of the research showed that of the seven elements studied, only two elements of which will be a positive perception, namely aspects of cleanliness and coolness, while five other aspects got a negative perception. As a result, generally Cut Mutia Parks research object only gets the value perception of -0.24. Details of the value obtained by each of these aspects are: -0.52 for comfortability; +0.13 for cleanliness; -0.003 for freshness; +0.26 for coolness; -0.77 for harmony level; -0.42 for beauty level; and -0.32 for interesting presented. Low perception from respondents indicated that Cut Mutia Park need better design such that it can give added value to the mosque and the environment surrounding. At the end can be said that the city authorities need to further improve attention in structuring of the park, to makes Cut Mutia Park become more comfortable, interesting and favored by the public, and also strengthening the power of the mosque as the central point.

Abstract

Upaya pelestarian dan konservasi bangunan kuno pada kawasan budaya hingga saat ini masih menemui nanyak kendala. Perubahan struktur kota yang kurang terkendali sebagai akibat dari pesatnya perkembangan perekonomian mempunyai andil yang cukup besar dalam tersingkirkannya kawasan budaya di sebagian kota-kota besar. Semakin banyaknya kebutuhan luas ruang dalam bangunan pada lahan yang sama telah mendorong public dan arsitek untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan lahan. Perkembangan perekonomian yang pesat juga mendorong public untuk mencari image-image baru sebagai identitas kemajuan itu sendiri. Selanjutnya, kehadiran teknologi modern masa kini dalam dunia konstruksi juga semakin mempermudah public dan arsitek mewujudkan image-image baru tersebut ke dalam sosok bangunan. Masih lemahnya perhatian pada pelestarian serta lemahnya pengawasan pada penggunaan lahan perkotaan mendorong terjadinya perubahan pola tata ruang kawasan dan bangunan yang nyaris tak terkendali. Akibatnya, di sebagian kawasan budaya sering munculnya sosok bangunan baru tanpa identitas yang jelas, terjadi perubahan bahkan pemusnahan pada bangunan-bangunan lama yang menjadi penanda kawasan tersebut, atau terjadi perpindahan aktivitas ke dalam kawasan dan sosok bangunan baru di luar kawasan pusat kota lama. Akibatnya, pusat kota lama mulai kehilangan identitasnya, atau perlahan-lahan menjadi kawasan mati karena ditinggalkan penghuninya. Perkembangan yang demikian ini bertolak belakang dengan cita-cita dan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam upaya pelestarian. Padahal kawasan budaya masa lalu dengan identitas yang jelas merupakan asset yang dapat dikembangkan sebagai kawasan wisata budaya, sehingga akan memberikan multiplier effect semakin pouplernya suatu kawasan dan kota serta memberikan sumber-sumber pendapatan baru bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat dari berbagai aktivitas yang yang menyertainya. DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/mintakat.v18i1.1477

Abstract

Kampung Al Munawar is a tourist village located in the Palembang city. This place is interesting because located on the banks of the Musi river and has a nice layout form. There is an interesting term in naming the place in this village, there are land and sea area. Land area is part of the village tends towards the land, sea area is part of the village located on the banks of the Musi big river. Some unique elements in this village are found by visitors' sight and remembered in their minds, in a form known as a mental map or mental image. This research combines descriptive, graphical and quantitative analysis methods to describe mental map or mental image recorded in observer’s mind. The results of the mental image show the unique gradation of places and objects remembered by visitors. The result shows the land entrance area and river pier area are both remembered only by 86% of observers. Row of houses leading to the sea remembered by 93% of observers. Row of houses and open space in the center of the village remembered by all of observers. This means that the core area attracts more visitors than its entrance and river’s banks area. Though Kampung Al Munawar can be a more interesting place if it is reached from the riverside. Therefore need to develop more activities in the riverbank area and increase the pier aesthetics, to attract visitors through the river and make the seaside more meaningful.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the attractiveness of Tugu (Tugu Pal Putih) as a leading tourist attraction in the current situation of Yogyakarta City space. Research methods: Tugu Pal Putih is at the main road intersection of Yogyakarta City, Indonesia. It has tangible and intangible aspects developed as a research instrument. Data was collected quantitatively using a questionnaire that was compiled based on the characteristics of the object using the semantic differential technique and calculated using Microsoft Excel software. Findings: The vigorous concept of the Tugu as a part of the philosophical axis of Yogyakarta can strengthen the tourists' minds and needs to increase its capacity to give the tourists an experience to feel the philosophical axis. Implications: The study has a beneficial impact on planning the tourists' flow in observing the Tugu. It needs the maintenance of existence as a Yogyakarta cultural symbol and a valuable world cultural heritage that is amazing for tourism

Abstract

Community service, is the mandate from the Ministry of Education and Culture, to close the distance between the world of education and the daily life of the community, this activity is a manifestation of the implementation of Community Service activities based on the scientific expertise of Architecture. The implementation of this community service activity is in the form of an introduction aimed at various groups in urban communities, conveyed online through Instagram social media. The purpose of this outreach implementation activity is to provide knowledge to the public about the importance of the values ​​of the imaginary axis of the heritage area as the city identity. The implementation of this counseling is related to the material and learning process in the KOKA (Kuliah dan Observasi Kajian Arsitektur) course which has been routinely programmed in each lecture process. On this occasion, which was still in a pandemic condition, the exposure of counseling materials related to the KOKA learning process was transferred in the form of online material exposure through Instagram online social media. As an embodiment, on this occasion the material preparation was carried out based on the direction of the Lecturer Team by involving the student team to produce the online poster. With the implementation of online, the exposure material will continue to be conveyed to the target community automatically since the material is broadcast.

Abstract

Lusi Island was formed from Sidoarjo mud in Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia. This artificial island can be developed into a mud-based tourism area that represents natural events and conservation in mangrove forests. Based on regional architectural principles, this research is aimed at developing and designing educational tourism areas including creating tourist zoning, facilities and supports including educational tourism. The process of designing the Lusi Island Tourism and Nature Conservation Area was carried out by combining data from field surveys, literature studies and precedent studies. The research results show that the tourism area created includes mangrove planting activities including witnessing the Lapindo mud remains which is supported by adventure tourism, such as off-roading, camping and outbound. The facility space program includes accommodation, prayer room, toilets, culinary center, and supporting space consisting of waste water management installations. The benefits of developing Lusi Island as a tourism and nature conservation area that applies the principles of building environmentally friendly and sustainable areas as well as tropical architectural buildings to become the main attraction for tourists.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perpaduan nilai budaya lokal dan unsur modern dalam penataan pasar tradisional. Sebagai pusat ekonomi yang penting, penataan pasar sering berada pada kondisi kurang optimal, yang menyebabkan pergeseran aktivitas ke area luar pasar, serta hilangnya ciri budaya setempat sebagai identitasnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dan penelitian desain konstruktif pada dua desain pasar di Jakarta dan Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan unsur budaya lokal, seperti bentuk atap, ornamen khas, dan pemilihan material di dalam desain masih tertutup oleh dominasi elemen modern. Kurangnya penggunaan material lokal mengakibatkan identitas budaya kurang tercermin dalam desain. Selain itu, tata ruang dan fasilitas yang tersedia masih kurang mendukung interaksi sosial dan kenyamanan bagi pengunjung. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan untuk lebih mengoptilamkan penggunaan material lokal dengan penekanan pada ornamen budaya untuk mempertegas identitas budaya dalam upaya modernisasi. Diharapkan pasar tradisional dapat tetap berperan sebagai pusat ekonomi dan simbol budaya yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study discusses the Tugu Pal Putih as a symbol of cultural identity and branding of the city of Yogyakarta through visual elements, expressions, and discussions on Instagram social media. The research was carried out qualitatively with a netnography approach and visual analysis of Instagram content related to this cultural landmark. The analysis is done through a thematic coding process to identify dominant themes and patterns reflecting public perceptions. The study results show that Tugu Pal Putih is not just a physical landmark but also a symbol of pride that forms a collective memory and emotional connection to Yogyakarta's atmosphere. Themes such as longing, ideal city, and pride reflect strong public attachment. Despite its distinctiveness, issues like hot weather and traffic congestion present challenges that require adaptive strategies. The integration of cultural, visual, and emotional elements enhances city identity and supports effective city branding. These findings offer insight for branding management to maintain the uniqueness of Yogyakarta as a cultural place.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguraikan dua sudut pandang tentang Tugu Pal Putih, yaitu perannya sebagai landmark kota Yogyakarta, dan proses pembentukan citranya secara visual. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara kuantitatif, berfokus pada kekuatan visual dalam membentuk identitas kawasan, dengan menganalisis ingatan dan pemahaman visual pengamat terhadap elemen-elemen arsitektur sekitar Tugu Pal Putih. Hasilnya menegaskan dominasi Tugu Pal Putih sebagai elemen inti yang paling mudah diingat, diperkuat oleh elemen lain yang berada di sekitarnya, yang mempertegas perannya sebagai landmark kota. Tugu Pal Putih bukan hanya sebagai fokus utama kawasan Tugu tetapi juga menjadi simbol penting dari Sumbu Filosofi Yogyakarta, yang identitas visualnya memberikan ciri khas yang kuat bagi kawasannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa temuan terkait pentingnya memori visual dan pengalaman pengamat dalam membentuk persepsi ruang, serta kuatnya peran hirarki visual sebagai pengarah perhatian kepada Tugu Pal Putih sebagai titik fokus amatan. Proses visual yang terjadi sangat berperan dalam menyampaikan pesan dan memelihara citra Tugu Pal Putih sebagai landmark kota Yogyakarta. Temuan penelitian ini tidak hanya memperdalam pemahaman masyarakat pada identitas visual kota Yogyakarta, tetapi juga memperkuat peran Tugu Pal Putih sebagai landmark kota yang bermakna.
