Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred had an impact on various fields, one of which was education. Teachers must be more creative and innovative in managing learning activities during the pandemic. By carrying out this activity, it is hoped that it can inform and assist teachers in making LKPD during online learning. This activity aims to inform and at the same time provide training on how to use the Liveworksheets application as an interactive LKPD; with the introduction of this application, it is hoped that teachers can attract more students to take part in online learning. Activities carried out online via zoom application. The results of this activity can be seen from the questionnaire filled out by the teacher as a participant; the teacher feels helped and is interested in using the Liveworksheets application as an option for evaluation media during online learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan permainan ular tangga sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa pada materi "How Do You Go To School." Penelitian melibatkan siswa dari sebuah sekolah tertentu dan menggunakan pendekatan pretest-posttest dengan kelompok kontrol tunggal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum perlakuan, penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa belum mencapai tingkat yang memuaskan, seperti yang tercermin dari hasil nilai rata-rata pretest. Siswa kesulitan mengidentifikasi informasi dalam kalimat tertulis dalam Bahasa Inggris dan memiliki kendala dalam mengeja kosakata. Analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa permainan ular tangga sebagai media pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa, dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,769 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi menurut klasifikasi Guilford. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran ular tangga dapat menjelaskan sekitar 59,2% dari variasi peningkatan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris pada siswa. Dalam kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan permainan ular tangga sebagai media pembelajaran efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa pada materi "How Do You Go To School." Hasil positif ini memberikan implikasi penting dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang lebih menarik dan efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa siswa di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Reading instruction plays a crucial role, as it can encourage Indonesian children to develop a sense of nationalism. Each student faces their own reading difficulties, such as not recognizing or reading letters, inability to spell syllables, getting stuck on certain words, and struggling with reading simple sentences. Teachers encounter challenges in conveying the material effectively. In this context, instructional media serves as a companion to teachers’ explanations, enabling students to better understand the content provided by the teacher. Instructional media serves as a tool to support learning objectives. One potential solution is implementing reading instruction using picture word cards. The research conducted at SDN 4 Nagri Kaler found that 79.30% of students were categorized as “>70,” indicating they have achieved learning proficiency with a score of 70 or above. Meanwhile, 20.70% of students fell under the “<70” category, indicating they have not achieved learning proficiency as their scores were below 70. Thus, it can be concluded that the picture word card method is effective in enhancing students’ comprehension, speaking skills, engagement, motivation, creative thinking abilities, as well as cooperation and communication skills. This media significantly contributes to improving students’ learning outcomes and creates a more interactive and effective learning environment.
