Abstract

Tanah kritis lahan Cempaka di daerah Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan merupakan lahan bekas penambangan intan yang mengandung kadar besi yang tinggi dan rendah akan unsur hara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kandungan bahan organik tanah di lahan kritis Cempaka dengan menggunakan biomasa legum sebagai pupuk hayati. Sebanyak lima jenis legum digunakan sebagai pupuk hayati, yaitu Mucuna pruriens, Gliricidia sepium, Leucaena leucocephala, Vigna unguiculata, Centrosema pubescens. Jagung manis sebagai tanaman uji ditanam selama 45 hari dan kemudian diukur rasio C/N dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Leucaena leucocephala memiliki rasio C/N yang terbaik bila dibandingkan pangkasan legum lainnya dan tumbuhan ini berpotensi sebagai alternative pupuk hayati di tanah kritis Cempaka.Kata kunci: Legum, organik tanah, lahan kritis CempakaCempaka critical land in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan is an ex-diamond mining site which has a high amount of iron and low soil organik carbon. The research aimed to improve soil organik of Cempaka critical land using local legum biomass as the fertilizer. Five local legums were used as fertilizer such as Mucuna pruriens, Gliricidia sepium, Leucaena leucocephala, Vigna unguiculata, Centrosema pubescens. The sweet corn was planted for 45 days and then the plant was observed the ratio between soil carbon and soil nitrogen. The result showed that Leucaena leucocephala had the primmest result of C/N ratio than other local legums and it could be concluded that Leucaena leucocephala had a potency of alternative fertilizer in Cempaka critical land.
