Abstract

This study aimed to foster entrepreneurial interest in Science Education students at Hasyim Asy'ari University through the implementation of ecoliteracy and ecopreneurship in PKLH courses. This research is a type of descriptive research through a qualitative approach wich is carried out as an effort to provide insight and experience to students to reuse waste into quality products and high selling value. This research was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic through an online system with two stages; first education about the environment (Ecoliteracy) and the second stage in the form of project assignments to manufacture environmental-based entrepreneurial products with waste as the main raw material. The results of the assignment can be used as entrepreneurial product innovations so that students are more creative in producing a product, as well as support one of the government programs to create a healthy and zero waste environment. From this research, it is known that ecoliteracy and ecopreneurship implementation activities can increase students' knowledge about environment; this can be seen from the average pre-test score of 72 to 80 in the post-test and an increase in the percentage of completeness from73% to 100%. Likewise, student interest in entrepreneurship increased, it was showed from the average score of pre-test and post-test 76 to 88. From this activity, student creativity was quite good with an average value 73, this can be seen from the variety of ecopreneurship products produced both from the types of basic materials and products.

Abstract

Desa Ngampel, Ngusikan, Jombang memiliki kondisi lingkungan ekstrim dengan kondisi tanah yang kering dan suhu yang panas sehingga lahan pertanian kurang cocok untuk ditanami sayuran. Kondisi demikian menyebabkan masyarakat hanya bergantung pada penjual sayur keliling dalam memenuhi kebutuhannya. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat dalam budidaya sayuran secara hidroponik sehingga dapat diaplikasikan untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan sayur skala rumah tangga. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu PKK berjumlah 25 orang. Tahapan kegiatan PKM meliputi empat tahap yaitu: tahap persiapan, tahap pelatihan, tahap pendampingan dan tahap evaluasi. Observasi lokasi dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2019, kegiatan PKM yang berupa pelatihan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12-13 Desember 2019 dan pendampingan dilaksanakan sampai tanggal 2 Pebruari 2020. Dari kegiatan yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan kegiatan PKM telah tercapai. Indikator partisipasi peserta PKM berhasil dicapai dengan prosentase 100%. Indikator tingkat pemahaman peserta tercapai dengan ditunjukkan 92% peserta PKM telah memahami materi budidaya sistem hidroponik. Indikator tingkat keterampilan peserta tercapai, dengan 84% peserta PKM mampu mempraktikkan budidaya sayuran dengan sistem hidroponik.

Abstract

The people of Drenges, Kabuh Village, Jombang Regency are one of the producers of red onion. When harvesting, the large amount of red onion waste has not been utilized by the community. According to the results of previous research that has been done, it proves that red onions contain compounds that are beneficial for plant growth. Red onion waste in the form of red onion skin can be used as organic liquid fertilizer. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to provide knowledge to the community in the use of red onion waste as organic liquid fertilizer for the growth of ornamental vegetables. The target of this activity is women, totaling 16 people. PKM activities consist of situation analysis, training, mentoring and evaluation stages. The situation analysis was carried out in April 2021, the training activities took place on August 7-8 2021, while the mentoring lasted until September 5, 2021. The results of this activity were participant participation which reached 100%; as many as 81.25% active participants and have understood the training material; and 87.5% of participants were able to make liquid fertilizer from onion waste.
