<![CDATA[Abstrak PT AHM (Astra Honda Motor) adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam manufaktur dan distributor sepeda motor Honda, dan perusahaan ini sebagai satu-satunya pemegang hak penjualan sepeda motor merk Honda di Indonesia. Artikel penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kecacatan utama produksi silinder kompresi dan bagaimana mememperbaikinya menggunakan metode DMAIC untuk menurunkan tingkat kecacatan dalam proses produksi silinder kompresi. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2020. Motode yang digunakan adalah DAMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve dan Control). data yang diperlukan dikumpulkan secara pengamatan, studi dokumentasi, studi pustaka dan wawancaa langsung dengan operator yang behubungan dengan proses produksi silinder kompresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kecacatan produk adalah kecacatan visual hitam sebanyak 655 kecacatan dari 753 kecacatan atau sebesar 86,98%. Penyebab kecacatan visual hitam disebabkan oleh beberapa factor, yaitu faktor manusia, yaitu operator kurang konsentrasi dan operator yang belum berpengalaman. Faktor mesin, yaitu temperatur cetakan yang tidak standar, oli plunger tip over, dan auto spray pada mesin yang berlebihan. Faktor material yaitu disebabkan temperatur molten yang tidak standar. Dan faktor metode yaitu metode setting yang tidak sesuai dengan SOP dikarenakan variasi pada kondisi mesin. This research was conducted to determine the factors causing the dominant defect in the compression cylinder production process and how to make improvements using the DMAIC method to reduce the level of defects in the compression cylinder production process. This research was conducted from July 2020 to August 2020 by using quality control in the compression cylinder production process. The research method used is to use the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Procedures and data collection were carried out by observation, documentation, literature study and direct interviews with operators / employees involved in the compression cylinder production process. The research result shows that majority of defects is black visual defects. This kind of defects caused by human factors, such as low focus and low experience of operators. Caused by machine such as dies temperature are not standard, oils plunger tip over, and machine over auto spray. Factor of materials such as unstandard molten temperature.
