Abstract

Abstract

Melon (Cucumis melo L.) contains various important vitamins and minerals, while melon consumption in Indonesia is still far below the standard. The increase in melon production every year has not met the needs of melons. Intensification of acid dry land is one of the efforts to increase melon production, because of the vast potential of the land, but it is necessary to improve the soil properties. The purpose of this study was to test the formulations on the growth and yield of melon plants on acid dry land. The study was conducted in a greenhouse using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 8 treatments, namely: (A) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer (100%); (B) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer + Cow Manure (50%:100%); (C) without Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:100%); (D) without Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer + Cattle Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:50%:50%); (E) with Lime + Phonska NPK Fertilizer (100%); (F) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Cow Manure (50%:100%); (G) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:100%); (H) with Lime + Phonska Npk Fertilizer + Cow Manure + Petrobio Fertilizer (50%:50%:50%) with 4 replications. Data analysis used Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the fertilizer formulation with additional lime had a significant effect on fruit weight, fruit diameter, and fruit harvest age. Fertilization formulation without the need for high doses of organic fertilizer to achieve optimal yields.

Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is one of the main commodities that become a national mainstay because it is a source of vegetable protein and is the main source of potential food after rice and corn. Efforts to meet the needs or increase food productivity in Indonesia by increasing the frequency of planting. There is no specific research on the optimal cultivar when planted during the rainy season, so it is necessary to use several cultivars and adjust the spacing in an effort to increase soybean production. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction between cultivars and spacing, as well as the use of cultivars and spacing as what showed the best growth and yields when planted in the rainy season. The method used was Factorial RAK. With the use of cultivars Grobogan, Anjasmoro, Deja 2, Gepak Kuning, Dega 1, Dering 1, and the use of spacing of 40 cm x 20 cm and 30 cm x 30 cm. Data analysis used Duncan's multiple distance test at 5% level. Components observed from the vegetative phase to the generative phase. The results showed that the use of the Anjasmoro cultivar with a spacing of 40 cm x 20 cm was very good during the growth period, while the components of the results of the use of the yellow Gepak cultivar and the use of a spacing of 40 cm x 20 cm showed the best results.

Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max L.) is one of the main food commodities after rice and corn. The need for soybeans in Indonesia is quite high. Soybeans are used as a basic ingredient for various processed foods such as tempeh, tofu, soy milk, tauco, snacks, and the soy sauce industry. Apart from being a food ingredient, soybeans are also used as industrial ingredients and animal feed. The high level of population consumption in Indonesia for soybeans and their processed products makes soybeans an ingredient sought by the community, therefore it is necessary to increase soybean productivity to meet domestic needs. One way to increase production while reducing inorganic fertilizers is the use of Liquid Organic Biofertilizer (LOB). This study aims to determine the effect of LOB on soybean growth and yield. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with six treatments with four replications. The treatments tested were: P0 = Without LOB, P1 = Concentration of 25 ml/l of water, P2 = Concentration of LOB 50 ml/l of water, P3 = Concentration of LOB 75 m/l of water, and P4 = Concentration of LOB 100 ml/l water, P5 = LOB concentration 125 ml/l water. The results showed that the application of Liquid Organic Biofertilizer of golden snails had a significant effect on plant height and number of leaves 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks, while the number of branches and the number of root nodules was effective at 6 weeks.
