Abstract

In the city of Palangka Raya with a population of 266,000 people, waste is a problem, among others, due to the limited facilities and infrastructure to support waste transportation. The average amount of waste transported by the Palangka Raya City Garbage Transport Team only reached 48.94% of the total waste that must be transported every month which reached 27,628.2 m³. Thus, the rate of waste production is still faster than efforts to overcome it. The purpose of this research is to study the performance of waste management in Palangka Raya City from the generation of waste, support for financing, and regulation, as well as to study the priority aspects as supporting the performance of waste management so that waste management can improve and the aspects that are the main causes and can affect the management performance of waste, as well as how the planning and commitment of the Palangka Raya City government towards improving the performance of waste management. The research method is quantitative descriptive, analysis of waste management performance data and priority setting is carried out with a Likert Scale modification. The number of respondents as many as 30 people who are all waste management supervisors in Pahandut and Jekan Raya Subdistricts which are the research locations. The results show that the value response in the form of a percentage that is considered appropriate requires priority handling, namely waste facilities (81%) as the first priority, financial support (70%) as the second priority, waste generation (69%) the third priority, regulation (65%) , and waste infrastructure (53%). In general, the performance of solid waste management in the City of Palangka Raya needs to be improved, especially in the waste facilities because the amount of waste generated in the City of Palangka Raya has not been balanced with the performance of waste management.

Abstract

Bapeang Village, Mentawa Baru Ketapang District, East Kotawaringin Regency produce rice. Pests and diseases that limit the growth of crop are a common problem for farmers as they conduct their farm. Farmers use chemical pesticides to prevent and manage pests and diseases that affect plants such as rice, corn, and long beans. The objective of this community service is to educate farmers about the risks associated with use of chemical pesticides and to offer alternatives that are more environmentally friendly, such as managing naturally occurring pest enemies and their microhabitats and employing biopesticides. Members of Ujung Pandang Farmers Group are the intended audience for the community service projects. The activity takes the form of direct outreach and counseling on the topics: 1) Introduction of natural enemies and their function in plant cultivation; 2) Introduction of Biopesticides, include Botanical Pesticides and Microbial Pesticides; and 3) Discussions on Concept of IPM and Environmentally Friendly Pest and Disease Control. Farmers have a greater understanding of natural enemies of pests and biopesticides, as alternatives to chemical pesticides and are safer and more environmentally friendly, as well as a greater awareness of the risks associated with applying chemical pesticides consistently. The evaluation's findings demonstrate how successfully the activity process has been operating. The attendees were quite engaged in the debate, and the team's presentation of the information contained fresh, previously undiscovered knowledge. This encourages the community service staff to engage with Farmers Group Chairperson to apply the program on cultivated land to ensure its future sustainability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menegetahui efikasi ekstrak buah bintaro terhadap tingkat mortalitas larva ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F) secara in-vitro dan konsentrasi yang tepat meningkatkan mortalitas larva ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F) secara in-vitro. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 5 perlakuan, yaitu: B0 = Kontrol, B1 = Ekstrak buah bintaro 30% (30 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 70 ml air), B2 = Ekstrak buah bintaro 50% (50 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 50 ml air), B3 = Ekstrak buah bintaro 70% (70 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 30 ml air), B4 = Ekstrak buah bintaro 90% (90 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 10 ml air) dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali, sehingga diperoleh 25 satuan percobaan. Masing-masing satuan percobaan menggunakan 10 larva ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F) dengan instar III, sehingga terdapat 250 ekor larva ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F) yang digunakan untuk percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa insektisida nabati ekstrak buah bintaro pada perlakuan B4 (90 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 10 ml air) dengan presentase mortalitas sebesar 56% dan memiliki daya bunuh (efikasi) terbaik dengan presentase 56% diikuti oleh perlakuan B3 (70 ml ekstrak buah bintaro + 30 ml air) dengan presentasi sebesar 52%.

Abstract

Efektivitas Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) Pada Hama Utama Tanaman Tomat (Solanum Lycopersicum L.) di Desa Bukit Pinang, Kec. Pahandut, Kota Palangka Raya. Dilaksanakan di lahan milik Bapak Yani kelompok tani Rukun Bersama, di desa Bukit Pinang, Kec. Pahandut, Kota Palangka Raya. Waktu pelaksanaan penelitian dimulai pada bulan April-Juli 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non-faktorial, yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali sehingga didapatkan 20 satuan percobaan. Perlakuan yang digunakan terdiri dari: P0 = Tanpa insektisida nabati (Kontrol 0%), P1 = Ekstrak daun pepaya konsentrasi 200 ml/L, P2 = Ekstrak daun pepaya konsentrsai 400 ml/L, P3 = Ekstrak daun pepaya konsentrsai 600 ml/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Mortalitas total% hama pada tanaman tomat paling rendah terdapat pada perlakuan kontrol dengan tingkat kematian hama 0, dan mortalitas hama paling tinggi terdapat di perlakuan P3 dengan konstrasi 600ml/L sebesar 2,60%. Intensitas serangan paling rendah dalam pengendalian hama tanaman tomat dengan menggunakan ekstrak daun pepaya yaitu dengan konsentrasi 600ml/L sebesar 3,18% dan perlakuan kontrol yang kerusakan paling tinggi mencapai 6,98%. Efektivitas ekstrak daun pepaya pada perlakuan ekstrak daun pepaya konsentrasi 600ml/L yang paling baik karena mempunyai keefektivan dengan nilai Ei sebesar 59,1%, kemudian disusul dengan perlakuan P1 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun pepaya 200 ml/L dengan Ei 37,59%. Dan efikasi terendah terdapat pada perlakuan P2 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun pepaya 400 ml/L dengan Ei 32,58%.
