Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) Determine the income earned in farming mustard greens in Anawai Village, Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, and (2) The attitude of women farmers in in farming mustard greens in Anawai Village, Wua-Wua District. Kendari City. This research was conducted in Anawai Village, Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, and was carried out from September to November 2021 with a total of 20 samples that selected through census. The data was analyzed using descriptive descriptive method that was processed using the income of women farmers, and processed using the bloom taxonomy percentage formula to determine the attitudes of women farmers. The results showed that (1) The income earned by women farmers in farming mustard greens in Anawai Village, Wua-wua District, Kendari City, is Rp 2.372.000/farming season with an average income of Rp 118.600, and was obtained from total revenue in the form of sales of mustard greens production, and total expenses in the form of fixed costs and variable costs. (2) The attitude of women farmers in farming mustard greens in Anawai Village, Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, which is more dominant is at the organizational level (A4) with a total of 12 respondents with a percentage of 60%.

Abstract

Organic farming is a technology that leads to the environment without using chemical elements. However, until now non-organic farming is still mostly practiced by farmers in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of lowland rice farmers who switched from non-organic to organic, and to determine the factors of change in lowland rice farming from non-organic to organic. This research was conducted from February to April in Bou Village, Lambandia District, East Kolaka Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research using the case study method. The results showed that the characteristics of paddy rice informants who switched to organic farming had a basic education level, and the average age was still productive, with more or less 3 years of farming experience and had relatively narrow cultivated land. Factors changing paddy rice farming from non-organic to organic are divided into two, namely internal factors (health factors, education factors, income level factors), and external factors (scarcity of organic rice, and the high cost of chemical fertilizers).

Abstract

Field rice plants are a favorite source of food for the people of Buton Utara Regency, especially before the celebration of religious holidays and harvest festivals. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parika in the process of cultivating upland rice and the form of local wisdom in the process of cultivating upland rice to meet their daily needs. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data and using a qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the role of parika in the process of cultivating field rice plants is very large, starting from the process of land preparation, planting, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest which is in charge of guiding every activity. The form of community local wisdom in cultivating field rice plants in Kampung Baru Village is matantasu which means the midpoint of planting and can be seen in real terms in the planting process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the traditional knowledge of the community in coconut cultivation in Tindoi Village, Wangi-Wangi District, Wakatobi Regency. The number of respondents in this study were 6 people who were determined using the snowball technique. The results of this study shows that: (1) Land provision for coconut cultivation does not arbitrarily chosen by the community in Tindoi Village Wangi-Wangi District Wakatobi Regency,Kaindea forest and Padangkuku forest are options the main community in the cultivation of coconut plants. (2) Tindoi Village community usually clearing forest land is done first slashing shrubs but before slashing the community first in the past, reading a mantra or prayer, the people there used to call it designation Batata. (3) Provision of coconut seeds by the Village community Tindoi, namely coconut seeds, can be directly taken from the mother tree, which is healthy and good. (4) The people of Tindoi Village before planting coconut first of all, you have to determine the good day,which is the good day is on yhe full moon that the people of Tindoi Village call it as Komba Ompulu Lolima which has the largest moon meaning of the moon another month.(5) The people of Tindoi Village have traditional knowledge in planting coconuts, namely in the process of planting coconuts must be male and planting during the day.When diong one has to sit on the ground and one has to carry one child behind him. (6) The people of Tindoi Village use coconut dregs or what they call kosea as fertilizer. Coconut or kosea dregs this is obtained from the juice of coconut milk and they use it as fertilizer usually they throw the kosea or coconut dregs to the coconut plant.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the level of knowledge of farmers in patchouli cultivation, (2) determine the types of motivation in patchouli cultivation, (3) determine the income of farmers in patchouli cultivation. This research was conducted in Lerepako Village, Laeya District, South Konawe Regency which was carried out from July 2021 to September 2021 with a total of 20 respondents selected by census. Data analysis in this study used a descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that (1) The level of knowledge of farmers in Lerepako Village in patchouli cultivation, all farmers are already at the level of knowledge of evaluating and some farmers are already at the level of knowledge of creating. (2) The motivation of farmers in patchouli cultivation in Lerepako Village is divided into two types of motivation, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation is dominated by fulfilling economic needs and interest in work  while extrinsic motivation is dominated by price  and a soil condition with a percentage. (3) The average income of farmers in patchouli cultivation in Lerepako Village, Laeya District, Konawe Selatan Regency from patchouli oil income is Rp. 61,445,000/planting season.
