Abstract

The lime plant with the Latin name Citrus Aurantifolia is a plant that grows widely in Indonesia. Lime can also be used as a cough medicine, phlegm buster, influenza medicine, acne medicine and many more. Apart from using natural materials, we also use fish scale waste. Milkfish scales contain 0.3% collagen. The collagen content can be used as anti-aging for the skin. To find out the stability test of the peel off gel mask, a combination of milkfish scales and lime, meets the criteria parameters for cosmetic preparations. The formulation of the peel off gel mask was carried out by modifying the formula into 3 (three) formulas with different concentrations of the extract to be used, namely F1 (1%), F2 (3%) and F3 (5%). This research began with collecting simplicia, extraction, making a peel-off gel mask and stability testing. The stability tests carried out were organoleptic, pH, dry preparation time and spreadability. In accordance with SNI masks 16-6070-1999. The stability test of the preparation was determined by storing the preparation for 21 days at different temperatures. The stability test is based on looking at the changes that occur starting from day 1 to day 21 of storage. The test results of the three peel-off gel mask formulations showed that the three temperatures on day 21 experienced changes in test parameters. The research results were analyzed using the SPSS Anova method.

Abstract

Cucurbita Moschata are rich in polyphenolic antioxidants such as flavonoids which can be used to lower blood sugar levels. Cucurbita Moschata can be formulated into biscuits. The aim is to determine the activity of cucurbita moschata and tinospora crispa extracts on reducing blood sugar in mice (Mus muculus). The research aims to create a Cucurbita Moschata biscuit formula that contains high levels of resistant starch and beta carotene but has the lowest impact on increasing blood sugar levels. This research method is experimental by making an antidiabetic formulation in mice. Mice were divided into normal groups, K groups (CMC NA 1%), groups with varying doses of 100 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg and 600 mg/kg, and positive groups (glibenclamide 0.65 mg/kg). Using the two way anova analysis method. The results showed the effect of reducing blood sugar levels in mice at doses of 100mg/kg (17.3%), 300mg/kg (29.3%), 600 mg/kg (35.2%) and the positive group (44.3%). The 600mg/kg group (35.2%) provided the highest reduction in blood sugar levels, which was close to positive (44.3%) compared to doses of 100mg/kg (17.3%), 300 mg/kg (29.3%). The conclusion of this study is that anti-diabetes biscuits, a combination cucurbita moschata and tinospora crispa , have antihyperglycemic activity in vivo.

Abstract

Lime contains flavonoids which have antioxidant properties by inhibiting free radicals. Meanwhile, milkfish scales contain 0,3% collagen which can be used as anti-aging for skin. Bot function as skon care products with an alternative formulation into a peel off gel mask. The aim of this research is to determine whether a combination of milkfish scale powder and lime peel can be formulated into a peel off gel mask. The method used is an experimental method by immersion extraction in 70% ethanol solvent. The formulation of milkfish scales is 1%, 3%, and 5%. Lime extract uses 0,6%; 1,2%; and 1,8%. Evaluation of physical quality in accordance with SNI masks 16-6070-1999. The results showed that the three formulations were not homogeneous due to the presence of insoluble fish scale powder, there was no changes in the organoleptic test parameters, the pH test range (4 -6), the test range spreadability of (3,7 – 7,5 cm), dry time (15 minutes), and viscosity test (1189 mPa.S-3598 mPa.S). The conclusion of this research is that lime peel and milkfish scales can be formulated as active ingredients for peel off gel masks and the physical quality test of peel off gel mask preparations meet the requirements.

Abstract

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that often occurs in teenagers. Insomnia can be treated using sedative hypnotic drugs but this can cause dangerous effects. Therefore, alternative natural ingredients are needed, such as Putri Malu and Secang, which are formulated in the form of jelly drinks as nutrasetikals. This research used 20 female mice as test animals which were divided randomly into 5 grups. The method used was the Traction Test and the data collected was the length of time the mice turned and the time the mice fell. In the positive control grup, Diazepam, distilled water and agar, the average time for mice to fall was 62.5 seconds and the time to turn around was 62.9 seconds. In the negative control grup, Jelly Drink combination of Putri Malu and Secang 0.68 g/kgBW, showed that the time for mice to fall was 106.6 seconds and the time to turn around was 128.5 seconds. In conclusion, the Jelly drink combination of Putri Malu and Secang has a sedative effect and has the potential to prevent insomnia as seen by the need for mice in the Jelly drink grup who had less time to fall and turn around.
