Abstract

As the world population, the majority of Indonesian’s town all knows an increase of their population that results in an augmentation of the housing needs. What is called Micro-housing is a new global trend that targets a younger worker part of the population and also a newly married couple that doesn’t have children yet. Indeed, this part of the population is in need to find house or apartment close to their workplace, close to the transportation of the city but also close to all the other town facilities like hospitals, restaurant, stores. This desire of finding a house or apartment in a strategic location known as the center of a town tends to increase but the available spaces to build more houses tend to decrease. That is why one of the solutions to this space problem is micro-housing; this type of new housing will allow responding to this problem of available space. This design project is not only about reducing space, but it is also focus on being able to design and create a layout space that responds to the multiple needs of the tenant by using multiple techniques in the design layout but also using transformable and foldable pieces of furniture.

Abstract

Technological developments that continue to evolve changes in various activities such as industries that rely heavily on computers and robot technology to increase industrial production. From this industrial development, it requires competent human resources who can compete in the industrial world. One way to improve human resources in the field of technology is to build a Computer Engineering and Informatics Vocational High School. Improvement and additional facilities are needed to support education in Kubu Raya Regency. The design stages of the Computer and Informatics Engineering Vocational High School in Kubu Raya Regency start from the preparation stage, the analysis stage, the synthesis stage and the design stage. Application of understanding tropical architecture with consideration of the principle of spatial comfort in buildings related to aspects of the body size of the building user, aspects of human space based on human activities in it, audio comfort, visual comfort, and thermal comfort in buildings. The application of renewable energy, such as solar power generation, is applied to building facades to provide electricity sources and block light from entering the room. In addition, the application of laterite brick material and roaster for air humidity adjusts the geographical area of Kubu Raya Regency which is a tropical area. The formation of buildings with a philosophical composition of shapes and room analogies from the Printed Circuit Board gives the meaning of access to rooms that are connected to one another.

Abstract

The Rasau Jaya Port area is a port area located in Kubu Raya Regency which serves shipping routes to the hinterland of West Kalimantan. The journey taken is a cross route within Kubu Raya Regency and a cross route between districts, namely North Kayong Regency. However, judging from the area and the port service office, this is still not feasible for an inter-district port area. Therefore, the Rasau Jaya Port area requires an area arrangement according to existing regulatory standards. The design methodology is adopted in stages, namely ideas, data collection, analysis, synthesis and design. With an area design concept that refers to the functions and standards of ferry port requirements. This can make the port a more organized area like a port in general.

Abstract

Indonesia is home to six of the world's seven species of sea turtles. Since 1981 internationally sea turtles have been included in the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature Resources (IUCN) and Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). In 1990, turtles were protected by Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning the Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and their Ecosystems. Its existence is protected because sea turtles act as a balancer of marine ecosystems. Sea turtles are endangered due to high exploitation, damaged habitats and the threat of predators. One of the turtle nesting and conservation areas in Indonesia is in Paloh Beach, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province starting from 2009-present. Design of the Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Paloh Beach, Sambas Regency as infrastructure to support turtle monitoring activities, research and education centers, information centersand tourism. The design location is at Tanjung Api Beach, Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The design theme is adjusted to the principle of conservation, namely "2P" (Protection and Preservation) meaning protection of life support systems (Protection), and preservation of the use of biological natural resources and their ecosystems (Preservation). This design uses field research methods (field reserch) which includes observation, documentation and interview techniques. The design results contain several masses which include management buildings, infor masi centers, inns, monitoring posts, research buildings, turtle shelter buildings, semi-natural nests and others. The buildings above are grouped based on conservation, research, education and tourism functions. With the existence of the Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Paloh Beach, it is hoped that it can be a place for conservation and maintain the sustainability of turtle habitat.

Abstract

Elderly people is someone who has reached the age of 60 years and above. The elderly experience a decrease in organ function, physical and psychological conditions that cause them to not be optimal in meeting their life needs. Despite their declining body condition, the elderly must remain active and socialize. The activity area of the elderly group is different from the productive age group because there are many physical and psychological changes. As life expectancy increases, the Pontianak City Government is aggressively making efforts to maintain the social welfare level of the elderly. On the other hand, a special place for Elderly activities is not yet available. The design of the senior center aims to create a place for senior activities that meets the design standards. The design method uses four steps, namely determining the design object, types and techniques of data collection, analysis, synthesis, and preparation of design stages. Data is obtained from surveys and interviews (primary data), literature studies and precedent studies (secondary data). The result of the design of the senior center is a building design that pays attention to the physical and psychological comfort of the elderly. The design area has 5 masses, namely the reception building, health building, library, hall, and service building. The senior center is expected to be a solution to meet the needs of elderly activities so that physical and mental health is maintained, and can be empowered so that their level of welfare is more secure. Keywords: Elderly, activity, senior center

Abstract

The National Search and Rescue Agency (Badan Nasional Pencarian dan Pertolongan or BNPP) is an institution responsible for conducting search and rescue operations related to disasters in a particular area. This institution is also obligated to prepare human resources who are experts in the field of search and rescue. The quality of its human resources is built through regular training. This requires a facility or container that meets the standard educational and training needs of BNPP personnel. This design aims to produce a design for the Education and Training Center of the National Search and Rescue Agency in Kubu Raya Regency. Thus, the quality of BNPP personnel, especially in the Kalimantan region, can be maintained. The design method used is the Richard Whitaker design method. This method includes stages, starting from the introduction of the BNPP institution, collecting planning issues for the BNPP Education and Training Center, collecting theories related to the BNPP Education and Training Center, analyzing design standards, formulating design concepts and solutions to be used, as well as creating and technical drawings. Through this method, a design concept is obtained with a theme of good spatial comfort that can make the function of the BNPP Education and Training Center area more effective. This will then serve as the basis for producing the design of the BNPP Education and Training Center in Kubu Raya Regency.

Abstract

Abstract

Sintang Regency is 386 kilometers from Pontianak City, the capital of West Kalimantan Province. According to the development plan for the eastern part of West Kalimantan Province. Sintang will be expanded to become the capital of Kapuas Raya Province. Although the plan has not been realized, Sintang Regency has grown rapidly. One of the areas that has grown rapidly is the Simpang Tebelian area located in Sungai Ukoi Village, Sungai Tebelian District because of its position at the intersection of the road to Melawi which is approximately 70 kilometers away. This location is imaginatively the gateway between Sintang and Melawi. So this location has the potential to be developed in the form of a transit area such as a rest area or other supporting areas for drivers to rest for a while before continuing their journey. Rest and service areas or generally better known as rest areas are places to rest for a while which are intended for drivers to be able to relax, relieve themselves, restore energy or even carry out religious obligations after traveling a long distance. The purpose of this design is to design a rest area in Sintang Regency as a place that accommodates transit activities or temporary stops in Sintang Regency. The design method consists of several stages, namely the preliminary stage, data collection stage, analysis stage, concept stage and design stage. The design results are in the form of a rest area in Sintang Regency as a transit activity container for drivers or road users with a building concept taking from the basic form of a traditional Dayak house which has an elongated shape and Malay which has three building periods and a terrace to show a local image.

Abstract

Currently, the Student Activity Center (Pusgiwa) in Tanjungpura University faces both physical (structural) and non-physical (user habit) issues that makes the Pusgiwa area ineffective for student activities. The facilities are inadequate and misused. This final project aims to design a more adequate Student Activity Center for Untan students, incorporating an open concept while considering contextual aspects and the physical and non-physical issues experienced in the previous design. The design methodology employed is Richard Whitaker's eight-step design process, encompassing five steps in design and three post-design steps. Richard Whitaker's five design steps include initiation, definition, preparation, analysis, and synthesis. The three post-design steps consist of temporal evaluation, alternative solution evaluation, and final reevaluation. The outcome of the design is an open Pusgiwa area that fulfills the student"™s activities needs. The new design addresses both the physical and non-physical issues found in the old Pusgiwa, providing facilities that better suit the needs of Untan students and a system accommodating the habits of the users, including security, cleanliness, and access for student fundraising efforts. The open design is implemented to foster a sense of community and place for students without compromising the primary function of the Pusgiwa area as a student activity zone.
