Abstract

Thermal comfort is one of the important aspects to ensure the comfort of a building. School building, e.g. Sekolah Bina Mulia, Pontianak is used for education activities for about eight hours a day. The teachersfourth floor and still applies the natural air ventilation system while other rooms use mechanical ventilation system. It is interesting to see thermal comfort condition in the ort of the room depends on the environment. Because of its position on the fourth floor, the wind circulation can flow freely and the application of air ventilation is possible. The average temperature is 29.599ºC, 71.216% for relative humidity and 0.143 m/s for wind speed, and 29.482ºC for MRT. The average value of PMV is 1.615. The thermal comfort value, based on the average of PPS*(PMV) calculation for three days observation is 0.130 and it is the neutral condition. This means the room is comfort for the users and it is mainly because  of the windows, sun shading, and the building materials which support the natural air ventilation of the school Kenyamanan termal merupakan salah satu aspek penting untuk memastikan suatu bangunan dapat memberikan kenyamanan bagi penggunanya. 2009. Abstract

Local residents of West Borneo have expertise in producing variety of traditional crafts, one of which is woven fabrics, which is no less competitive with other regions. But there are several problems regarding the lack of facilities and infrastructure, such as less productive weaving processes, exhibitions that are held irregularly, difficulty of marketing products and no place for discussion. Therefore, the need of a place to product, exhibit, and market the products of West Borneo woven fabrics called "Center of West Borneo Weaving Craft Gallery in Pontianak" is essential. The design process starts from the analysis of functions which are divided into 3 groups, such as the main function group is commercial function, the extension function group is to produce recreation, education and performance function, while the other support function group is to produce management and service functions. The design applies theme of contemporary architecture as an approach that will support the creation of spaces that have harmonization, interactive, innovative and iconic concepts. The appeal of the idea design building shape is the philosophy of the analogy from winding’s tool which is divided into three parts and produces the main building, workshop building and multipurpose building. The number of floors for each building is almost the same which is two floors, except for the multipurpose building, which is one floor. The line movement from height of the building mass illustrates the existence of sustainability by creating an environment that represents aesthetic value and the harmonization of local culture to modernization.

Abstract

Motorcycle racing is generally known as a dangerous sport, but it is enjoyed as an exciting pastime. In increasing the potential of motorcycle racers in Indonesia in general and in West Kalimantan in particular, it is necessary to build a sports facility in the form of a circuit in accordance with national standards in Kubu Raya Regency. The purpose of designing the Road Race Circuit in Kubu Raya Regency is to provide a place for racers in West Kalimantan to develop their hobbies. The design method used is the Robert Whitaker design method, which consists of the introduction stage, definition stage, preparation stage, analysis stage, synthesis stage, evaluation stage, and re-evaluation stage. The main concept in this design is to create circuit facilities with national standards that are integrated with commercial, recreational, and educational areas to meet the needs of Road Races. This design produces a track with a length of 2.6 km and has 15 bends that circle the area and is integrated with the tribune, pit building, commercial area, food court, and amphitheater with a cluster organization. The rectangular tribune follows the shape of the track and will be divided into two, namely VIP and economic stands. The pit building is rectangular in shape with three floors with facilities according to the standards of the Indonesian Motor Association. The amphitheater is located in the plaza area which can be used by visitors to enjoy the show before heading to the stands.

Abstract

Sambas Regency has the potential to improve the regional economy. There is industrial and business potential in Sambas Regency which makes it possible to increase meeting activities such as workshops, seminars, exhibitions, conventions, conferences, festivals and others. So far meeting activities in Sambas Regency have been carried out using makeshift facilities from other buildings, so they are inadequate to fulfill the special function of meetings. For this reason, it is necessary to provide facilities in the form of a convention center. The location of the Sambas Convention Center Design is on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Sambas City, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The method applied in the design is the Glass box according to John Christopher Jones. Building design is carried out in several stages, namely by collecting primary data and secondary data. The data is then analyzed and produces a design concept that will realize the design of the building. The design function consists of meeting functions, commercial functions and service functions. The design results are in the form of design products in buildings with symmetrical shapes with the application of the theme of regionalism architecture. The building mass is inspired by the iconic building of Sambas City, namely the Sambas Palace with three separate mass arranged horizontally along the site area. The building is designed according to the architectural principles of local buildings. Building circulation is made flexibly according to the philosophy of Malay building. Using wide-span structures and grid structures in buildings and using trus systems in roof construction.

Abstract

One of the basic needs for all humans without exception is education as stated in the UUD 1945 article 31 paragraph (1) states that every citizen has the right to education. The education obtained is in accordance with UU RI Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System in article 5 which states that citizens who have physical, emotional, mental, intellectual and/or social disabilities have the right to receive special education, namely special education. Students with physical disabilities or disabilities (blind, hearing impaired, quadriplegic), mental deficiencies (mental retardation), as well as physical and mental limitations are included in the group of Children with Special Needs. The educational medium for children with special needs is the Special School. Special school was established to increase the distribution of educational services for special needs so that every citizen does not experience gaps in obtaining education. By applying the design method proposed by J. Zeisel in 2006, design is carried out objectively by utilizing data collection through field observations and data collection through books, journals and data from relevant agencies/institutions regarding the design object. Having a design area of 2.2 hectares. The Kubu Raya Regency Special School consists of two building masses, namely the school building and the dormitory building. The school building consists of one floor and the dormitory building consists of two floors.
