Abstract

One effect caused by a calamity is the psychological impact on the community. In December 2019 covid-19 viral infected many countries including Indonesia which later changed his status to make cause serious problems because there is no vaccine to prevent transmission of the virus. This condition requires every society to comply with government regulations as quarantine, PSBB, WFH, social distancing. The psychological impact that is often found in society is afraid of panic and other stress. Psychology is closely related to conducting this study will discuss architectural behavior that plays a role in the relationship between people and space. This research as if would explain what occurred in behavior and how your family made the architect can solve this problem by emphasizing psychiatric problems through the application for building design, occupancy of a room. The theory of architecture as a guide in determining objects for the attention that the occupants need through analysis of the type of activity and used before and during the pandemic. This approach asserts the need to understand the behavior and needs of the people living in the house in use. This research activity was carried out with space objects selected based on the similarity of form and design of the average home in Medan City. In activities, the research was conducted with a sample housing path in our name in “Villa Nusa Sempurna” with different types of houses, and various characters users and primary focus will also be on the type of house that is most in demand are in residential. Is a type of type 70 most interested in shape and arrangement with the most commonly found in residential of the town. The result of this research is designed products have been analyzed based on the assessment of behavior so that it can become a new alternative designing safe and comfortable housing for the face of a pandemic.

Abstract

Inclusive higher education in Indonesia still faces significant challenges in fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities to access equal education. This article presents the concept of a "Smart and Inclusive Campus" with a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach and the integration of sensory-based digital technology to create a more inclusive campus environment. A literature study and analysis of inclusive education policies were conducted to identify accessibility gaps and formulate strategies for developing campus facilities and infrastructure. The results of the study indicate that a combination of universal open space design, mobile-based assistive technology, digital navigation systems, and reinforcement of physical infrastructure can enhance the academic and social participation of students with disabilities. Implementing this concept requires the active involvement of various parties, including the government, educational institutions, the private sector, and disability communities. By adopting this innovative approach, higher education institutions are expected to create a learning environment that is equal, adaptive, and supportive of all students.

Abstract

Abstract: This research develops a Green Wall Ventilation Block made from recycled plastic and glass as an innovative sustainable façade solution for tropical architecture. The study aims to design a modular ventilation block capable of supporting natural airflow while providing planting space for green wall systems. The research method integrates digital modeling using SketchUp, airflow simulation through Autodesk Vasari, formulation of recycled composite material, and fabrication of a full-scale 1:1 prototype using a combined 3D printing and fiberglass mold. Simulation results confirm that the diagonal ventilation geometry improves airflow velocity and stability under tropical climatic conditions, while the planter cavity remains functional without obstructing ventilation. The recycled plastic–glass composite demonstrates good workability, reduced density, and sufficient durability for non-structural façade applications. The final prototype shows precise geometry, structural stability, and compatibility for modular installation as a green façade. Overall, the developed system not only enhances passive ventilation and thermal performance but also contributes to reducing plastic and glass waste by repurposing them into functional architectural components. This innovation offers strong potential for wider implementation in sustainable tropical building design. Keyword: Green Wall; Recycled Materials; Ventilation Block Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengembangkan Green Wall Ventilation Block berbahan limbah plastik dan kaca sebagai solusi fasad berkelanjutan untuk arsitektur tropis. Tujuan penelitian adalah merancang modul ventilasi yang mampu mendukung aliran udara alami sekaligus menyediakan ruang tanam bagi sistem green wall. Metode penelitian mengintegrasikan pemodelan digital menggunakan SketchUp, simulasi aliran udara melalui Autodesk Vasari, formulasi material komposit berbahan daur ulang, serta pembuatan prototipe skala 1:1 menggunakan cetakan gabungan 3D printing dan fiberglass. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa geometri bukaan diagonal meningkatkan stabilitas dan kecepatan aliran udara pada kondisi iklim tropis, sementara ruang tanam tetap berfungsi tanpa menghalangi ventilasi. Material komposit plastik–kaca menghasilkan densitas lebih ringan, mudah dicetak, dan cukup kuat untuk aplikasi fasad non-struktural. Prototipe akhir memiliki presisi tinggi, stabil secara struktural, dan dapat disusun secara modular sebagai green façade. Secara keseluruhan, sistem ini tidak hanya meningkatkan ventilasi pasif dan kinerja termal bangunan, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pengurangan limbah plastik dan kaca melalui pemanfaatan kembali sebagai material konstruksi. Abstract

Community empowerment through creative education can strengthen teachers' capacity to independently develop contextual and accessible learning media, particularly for early childhood settings where engaging, hands-on resources are essential. This community service program aimed to develop and implement interactive pop-up books as creative learning tools while strengthening teachers' capacity to design, produce, and utilize visual learning media for early childhood education. The program was conducted at RA Nadhira Asy Syafa, Deli Serdang Regency, Indonesia, employing participatory, educational, and practical approaches. Teachers were actively involved throughout the process, including problem identification, theme selection, media design, production, classroom implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that the resulting media reflected both pedagogical needs and local context. Data were collected through observation, interviews, discussions, documentation, and a simple response questionnaire structured around four indicators: student engagement, early reading responses, creativity, and perceived support of pop-up books for learning. The findings revealed generally positive responses to the developed media. Specifically, 66.7% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the media supported student engagement and early reading responses, while 91.7% reported positive perceptions of children's creativity, and 91.7% agreed or strongly agreed that the pop-up books effectively supported learning activities. Nevertheless, variations in children's responses suggest that continued teacher guidance and adaptation to individual developmental needs remain necessary for optimal outcomes. Overall, the program demonstrates that collaboratively developed pop-up books can serve as accessible, low-cost, and context-sensitive learning media, while simultaneously strengthening teachers' practical capacity to independently design and produce creative educational materials suited to their classroom needs.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini menginvestigasi pola perilaku penggunaan energi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa di ruang komunal kampus. Penggunaan energi yang efisien dan berkelanjutan telah menjadi perhatian global, dan kampus merupakan tempat yang relevan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi perbaikan ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei, observasi, dan analisis data untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang perilaku mahasiswa dalam penggunaan energi di lingkungan kampus, khususnya dalam penggunaan gadget seperti handphone/smartphone, laptop, dan tablet. Data tersebut dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi pola perilaku, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya, dan potensi perubahan perilaku yang lebih berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variasi dalam perilaku penggunaan energi mahasiswa di dalam dan di luar ruangan (indoor/outdoor) kampus. Faktor-faktor seperti kesadaran lingkungan, ketersediaan fasilitas pengisian daya gadget, dan norma sosial mempengaruhi pola perilaku dalam penggunaan energi. Temuan penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap desain ruang komunal terhadap mahasiswa yang berkelanjutan serta merancang lingkungan kampus yang lebih efisien secara energi. Kata kunci: pola perilaku, mahasiswa, ruang komunal kampus, energi, gadget   Abstract This research investigates the patterns of energy usage behavior among students in campus communal spaces. Efficient and sustainable energy usage has become global concern, and the campus is a relevant place to identify potential improvements in this regard. The research employs survey methods, observations, and data analysis to collect information on student behaviors regarding energy usage in the campus environment, particularly in the use of gadgets such as handphones/smartphones, laptops, and tablets. The data is analyzed to identify behavior patterns, influencing factors, and potential changes towards more sustainable behavior. The research findings indicate variations in students' energy usage behaviors both indoors and outdoors on campus. Factors such as environmental awareness, the availability of gadget charging facilities, and social norms influence behavior patterns in energy usage. The findings of this research can provide insights to enhance awareness of sustainable communal space design for students and to design a energy-efficient campus environment. Keywords: behavior patterns, students, campus communal spaces, energy, gadgets
