Abstract

The aims of this study are to test the effect of workplace spirituality dimensions (inner life, meaningful work, and condition for community) on organizational commitment (affective, continuance, and normative) and also to test the moderating effect of perceived organizational support. 130 questionnaires were collected from six organizations in Yogyakarta.The result of this research shows the workplace spirituality dimensions have positive effect on affective commitment. Testing of moderation effect shows perceived organizational support does not moderate the positive effect of workplace spirituality dimensions on components of organizational commitment. Based on this research, condition for community has the biggest effect on affective commitment, while inner life has biggest effect on normative and continuance commitment. Implication for management theory and practice are discussed.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of authentic leadership on hope, trust in leaders and positive emotions. In addition, this research also tested influence of hope, trust in leaders and positive emotions on organizational commitment. This research conducted in survey research framework with cross-sectional data type. Total of 140 respondents completed the questionnaire with self-administered survey. The Authentic Leadership Questionnaire (ALQ), State Hope Scale, The Trust in Management Scale, Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (HEAT-Short Version), and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire were used to measure the variables involved. Hypothesis testing with SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) shows several findings. The results showed a positive and significant effect of authentic leadership with hope, trust in leaders and positive emotions. Positive influence is also shown in the trust on a leader to organizational commitment. While the positive influence of hope and positive emotions towards organizational commitment is not supported. Keywords: authentic leadership, organizational commitment, hope, trust, positive emotion

Abstract

The aims of present study was to test the theoritical linking model of authentic leadership with personal identification, social identification, trust to leader, and organizational commitment in higher education institution. The quantitative methodology used in this study incorporates cross-sectional survey method. Analysis was conducted on the sample of 150 academic and administrative staff from one of private business school in Yogyakarta special region. The direct effect between variables analyzed using path analysis and mediating mechanism using procedure from Baron and Kenny (1986) and Sobel test.  Results reveal positive and significant direct effect of authentic leadership to personal identification, social identification, trust to leader and organizational commitment. Folower’s personal identification mediate the effect of authentic leadership to follower’s trust and commitment. Follower’s trust to leader mediate the relationship between authentic leadership and follower’s commitment. Meanwhile, social identification does not mediate the effect of authentic leadership to follower’s commitment and trust to leader. Implication for management theory and practice are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to examined the effect of e-commerce, digital marketing, and consumer prestige on instant online buying decisions with perceived quality as an intervening variable on millennial generation. This research used survey design with purposive sampling. This research was conducted on 152 students in Yogyakarta who had already done online shopping in the marketplace. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) using Analysis Moment Structure (AMOS). This research proves that there is a positive influence on the use of e-commerce, digital marketing, and prestige on instant online buying decisions of consumers with perceived quality as an intervening variable on millennial consumers. The direct factor that influences instant online buying decisions is perceived quality, while e-commerce, digital marketing and prestige have an indirect effect on instant online buying because they have to pass through perceived quality. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed later.

Abstract

This study examines the relations among employee involvement, job satisfaction, and in-role performance. Job satisfaction is posited as a mediator. A total of 102 respondents filled out a self-administrated survey. The hierarchical regression analysis was performed to test the direct influence hypotheses. To carry out the mediation test, the procedures proposed by Baron and Kenny and the Sobel Test to strengthen were both used. It was found that the influence of employee involvement variables was positive on job satisfaction and in-role performance. Results also showed a positive of job satisfaction on in-role performance. Job satisfaction partially mediated the relationship between employee involvement and in-role performance.  Implications of the findings, implications, and limitations are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences of employee’s personality between generation X and generation Y. We use the big five personality model consists of extraversion, agreableness, conscientiousness, neoriticsm, and openness to experience. This research also intended to examine the effect of big five personality on job stress on generation X and Y. The hypothesis was tested using independent sample t-test and multiple regression. The results of hypothesis testing on 126 samples indicated that there are no personality differences in the big five dimension among generation X and Y. The multiple regression results also do not show the influence of personality types on the level of work stress felt by generation X and Y. Additional analysis results show there is no difference in job stress level felt by generation X and Y.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of e-commerce application, social media instagram and digital marketing to online purchases of millennial generation consumers. Respondents of this study were 152 university students who have already shopped online at e-commerce applications, have ever seen e-commerce advertisements on electronic media and have used social media instagram for online shopping participated in this reseach. There are several findings in this study. First, e-commerce application has positive influence to online purchases of millennial generation consumers. Second, social media instagram has postive effect to online purchases of millennial generation consumers. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh positif dukungan organisasional persepsian (DOP)  dan kondisi komunitas pada komitmen afektif. Selain itu, peran pemoderasian variabel kebermaknaan kerja dalam hubungan antara DOP dan kondisi komunitas pada komitmen afektif juga akan diuji. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan desain penelitian survei, dan jenis data bersifat cross-sectional. Penelitian fokus pada anggota organisasi atau karyawan di wilayah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara self-administered survey dengan pengambilan sampel berupa non-probability sampling, yaitu dengan purposive sampling. Pengolahan data dan pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan moderated regression analysis. Hasil riset menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan dukungan organisasional persepsian dan kondisi komunitas terhadap komitmen afektif. Sedangkan hipotesis efek pemoderasian kebermaknaan kerja pada hubungan variabel independen dan dependen tidak terdukung. Secara khusus, efek pemoderasian kebermaknaan kerja pada hubungan antara dukungan organisasional persepsian menunjukkan pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan, yaitu kondisi terbalik dari hipotesis. Penjelasan lebih lanjut  dan alternatif teori disajikan peneliti dalam pembahasan.
