Abstract

AbstrakBajakah kalalawit merupakan tanaman khas Kalimantan yangdimanfaatkan sebagai obat dan dianggap aman karena berasaldari alam. Namun, kemanannya harus dibuktikan denganpenelitian tentang efek toksik dari tanaman bajakah kalalawitterhadap organ hati yang berfungsi dalam detoksifikasi. Tujuanpenelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek toksik sertaperubahan histologi organ hati hewan uji tikus yang diberikanekstrak batang tumbuhan bajakah kalalawit. Penelitian inimenggunakan 5 kelompok uji yaitu Kontrol Negatif, KontrolPositif, Perlakuan 1, Perlakuan 2, dan Perlakuan 3. Hasilpenelitian menunjukan bahwa semua kelompok uji tidakmengalami peningkatan kadar SGOT dan Gamma GT denganrentang kadar SGOT tiap kelompok yaitu 34.56, 48.02, 21.72,18.28 dan 36.84 IU/L sedangkan rentang kadar Gamma GT tiapkelompok yaitu 12.106, 40.15, 20.096, 38.098, dan 25.866 IU/L.Berdasarkan pengamatan histopatologi organ hati diketahuibahwa, kelompok kontrol negatif tidak mengalami degenerasidan nekrosis, sedangkan kontrol positif, perlakuan 1, perlakuan 2,dan perlakuan 3 mengalami degenerasi dan nekrosis ringan. Sertaperlakuan 3 periportal ± bridging nekrosis sedang. Kesimpulanpada penelitian yaitu pemberian ekstrak batang bajakah kalalawittidak memberikan efek terhadap peningkatan kadar SGOT danGamma GT serta dapat menyebabkan terjadinya perubahangambaran histopatologi organ hati berupa degenerasi (ringan) dannekrosis (sedang) pada dosis tertinggi yaitu dosis 1500 mg/kg BBtikus.Kata kunci: Ekstrak batang bajakah kalalawit; SGOT; GammaGT; Histopatologi organ hati.AbstractBajakah Kalalawit is a typical plant of Kalimantan which is usedas medicine and is considered safe because it comes from nature.However, its safety must be proven by research on the toxic effectsof Kalalawit plant on the liver that functions in detoxification. Thepurpose of this study was to determine the toxic effects andhistological changes in the liver of rat test animals that were givenextracts of stem of bajakah kalalawit plant. This study uses 5 testgroups, namely Negative Control, Positive Control, Treatment 1,Treatment 2, and Treatment 3. The results showed that all testgroups did not experience an increase in SGOT and Gamma GTlevels with a range of SGOT levels per groupie 34.56, 48.02,21.72, 18.28 and 36.84 IU / L while the range of Gamma GT levelsper group were 12,106, 40.15, 20,096, 38,098, and 25,866 IU / L.Based on histopathological observations of the liver, it is knownthat the negative control group did not experience degenerationand necrosis, while the positive control, treatment 1, treatment 2,and treatment 3 experienced mild degeneration and necrosis. Andtreatment of 3 periportal ± moderate bridging necrosis. Thisresearch concludes that the administration of Kalalawit stemextract did not have an effect on increasing levels of SGOT andGamma GT and could cause changes in the histopathologicalpicture of the liver in the form of degeneration (mild) and necrosis(moderate) at the highest dose of 1500 mg/kg BW in rats.Keywords: Bajakah Kalalawit stem extract; SGOT; GammaGT; Histopathology of the liver.
