Abstract

Teacher performance plays a strategic role in the success of vocational education; however, many vocational high schools still face challenges such as suboptimal work discipline, fluctuating work motivation, and compensation perceived as inadequate. This study aimed to analyze the effects of work discipline, work motivation, and compensation on the performance of vocational high school teachers in Sayung District. An explanatory quantitative approach was employed, using a saturated sampling technique that involved all 50 teachers as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, while work motivation has a positive but not significant effect. Compensation was found to have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, and jointly the three variables significantly influence performance with a coefficient of determination of 67.5%, indicating that work discipline, work motivation, and compensation explain most of the variance in teacher performance. In conclusion, work discipline and compensation are dominant factors in improving teacher performance, whereas work motivation needs to be strengthened through sustained managerial policies. The implications of this study highlight the importance of human resource management based on discipline, improved welfare, and effective school governance to reinforce the quality of vocational education at the vocational high school level.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and the increasing use of marketplaces have intensified competition among e-commerce platforms, including Shopee, making customer loyalty a key factor for long-term business sustainability. Customer loyalty is determined not only by the functional aspects of an application, but also by the information received by consumers and their platform-use experience, positioning electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) as important variables, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable between these factors and customer loyalty. This study aimed to analyze the role of eWOM and PEOU in influencing customer loyalty among Shopee users, with customer satisfaction as an intervening variable. A quantitative survey approach was employed by administering questionnaires to 300 Shopee users in Semarang City, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that eWOM and PEOU had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction; eWOM also had a positive and significant direct effect on customer loyalty, whereas PEOU had a negative yet significant effect on customer loyalty. These findings indicate that ease of use alone is insufficient to build loyalty and may even lower switching costs, thereby making it easier for customers to move to other platforms. In addition, customer satisfaction had a significant effect on customer loyalty and functioned as an intervening variable in the relationship between eWOM and PEOU and customer loyalty. The implications of this study underscore the need for e-commerce managers to strengthen positive eWOM and strategically manage application features in order to create sustainable customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting national economic growth, including in the halal food sector, which continues to expand in line with increasing consumer awareness; consequently, understanding consumer behavior, particularly the factors influencing purchase intention, has become increasingly important. This study aimed to analyze the influence of attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on purchase intention for halal food products using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, in which primary data were collected via questionnaires from 100 consumers of the MSME Virgin Cake & Bakery in Semarang City, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control had a positive and significant effect on purchase intention for halal food products. These findings confirm that consumer attitudes, social influences, and perceptions of ease and capability in making purchases play an important role in shaping purchase intention. The practical implications of this study provide guidance for MSME actors in formulating marketing strategies oriented toward strengthening consumers’ positive attitudes, optimizing social support, and enhancing ease of access to halal products in order to reinforce competitiveness and business sustainability.

Abstract

Increasing competition in Indonesia’s coffee industry requires companies to understand the factors that shape customer loyalty sustainably. However, previous research findings regarding the influence of product quality and brand trust on customer loyalty, as well as the role of customer satisfaction as a mediating variable, remain inconsistent. This study aimed to analyze the influence of product quality and brand trust on customer loyalty through customer satisfaction among Fore Coffee consumers in Semarang City. This study used an explanatory quantitative approach involving 243 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS. The results showed that product quality and brand trust had a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. In addition, customer satisfaction was proven to partially mediate the relationship between product quality and brand trust and customer loyalty. The conclusion of this study confirms that improving product quality and brand trust can consistently shape customer loyalty through customer satisfaction. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of corporate strategies in maintaining product quality and building brand trust to improve customer satisfaction and customer loyalty sustainably.
