Abstract

This review aims to examine how the intellectual movement of the Rausyan Fikr Foundation can play a significant role in shaping the discourse of Islamic philosophical scholarship and the extent to which the influence and reality of the Rausyan Fikr Foundation's religious intellectual movement in Yogyakarta. This paper employs a qualitative method and analyzes the extent to which the preaching methods developed by the Rausyan Fikr Foundation are linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The sociology of religion is the author's choice for analyzing the role of the Rausyan Fikr Foundation's religious intellectual movement. The findings of this paper indicate that the intellectual movement of the Rausyan Fikr Foundation has Islamic philosophy discourse as its identity. The works of Shia scholars in Iran serve as the main reference for activists of the Rausyan Fikr Foundation. With idealism as their foundation, the Rausyan Fikr Foundation is not trapped by practical political interests because the Foundation itself has independent business units through the sale of Shia-oriented books. It is this idealism that consistently garners positive responses for the Rausyan Fikr Foundation, especially among students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan hal yang baru dalam pandangan Muhammad Iqbal tentang pendidikan dan relevansinya masa kini, serta melakukan evaluasi kritis terhadap pemikiran Muhammad Iqbal tentang pendidikan yang terdapat dalam beberapa karyanya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pustaka dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutika. Hasil Penelitian ini adalah Pendidikan Islam menurut Muhammad Iqbal seharusnya diarahkan untuk menghidupkan kembali dan menguatkan individualitas manusia sehingga menghasilkan aktifitas yang kreatif. Hakikat pemikiran Muhammad Iqbal tentang pendidikan dan relevansinya dengan masa kini adalah karakter bagi bangsa Indonesia dapat memberikan inspirasi setiap manusia Indonesia agar senantiasa dapat mawas diri terhadap pendidikan yang selama ini dilaksanakan, sehingga dapat terwujud suasana pendidikan yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai luhur

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the concept of syūrā deliberation in the Qur'an as the foundation of social ethics and reconciliation in contemporary society, which faces a crisis of dialogue and religious polarization. The method used is the tafsīr maudhūʿī approach (thematic interpretation combined with contextual hermeneutic analysis). The focus of the study is directed to three main verses: QS Āli ʿImrān 3:159, QS Ash-Shūrā 42:38, and QS Al-Baqarah 2:233. In the analysis, the author integrates the views of the classical mufassir alṬabarī, Ibn Kathīr, al-Qurṭubī and the modern thinker M. Quraish Shihab, alṬabāṭabāʾī to interpret the deliberative value of the Qur'an in a broader socio-ethical context. The study's findings reveal that the value of syūrā encompasses three primary dimensions: recognition and acceptance of taʿāruf, diversity, tolerance of tasāmuh and mutual respect, and islāḥ (reconciliation and social restoration). These three dimensions form the conceptual framework of the "Qur'anic Ethics of Reconciliation," which has relevance to John Paul Lederach's transformative theory of reconciliation and Jürgen Habermas's concept of communicative action, but is enriched by a spiritual dimension derived from divine revelation. Conceptually, this study concludes that the Qur'an is not only a moral-theological guideline, but also an epistemological source for the development of modern Islamic social theories oriented towards peace, spirituality, and inclusivity.
