Abstract

Abstract: The educational process is the path to a better, quality and dignified personal direction. The discussion about character development is a discussion of interesting problems to be studied, especially to make improvements from an early age, starting from elementary school age. We are fully aware that a society of character will be able to become the forerunner of a developed and strong country. Conversely, a country that does not have a good character building will become a country that will experience a decline in various ways. The method in this study uses a narrative-philosophical type qualitative approach. This research uses an interpretive paradigm, namely the collection of data from nature (natural setting) as the main / core data through reading books in the study of the philosophy of character education.  The data in this study analyzes and develops the character of learners. what are some of its supporting and inhibiting factors and philosophical views.  Methods The foundation of philosophy in character development becomes a direction for the development of character itself in the process of Education. Education is a conscious and planned effort in the process of building a person's character towards a better direction. The philosophical basis of character education is threefold, namely the ontological, epistemological, and axiological basis. There are three kinds of schools in educational philosophy, namely: Progressivism, Essentialism, and Existentialism which greatly influence the character development of children of primary school age today.Keywords: Philosophy; Character development; Character

Abstract

Abstract: Education is a series of very complex processes and involves many aspects related to education which aims to change human attitudes and behavior in a civilized direction. The purpose of this study was to determine the educational background on the initial reading ability of the first graders of SD Tunas Harapan Islam. This type of research used a qualitative approach. Primary data collection techniques were carried out by observation and interviews. While the secondary data collection is done by studying literature and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate: 1) The teacher's efforts as facilitators in improving the initial reading ability of grade 1 students at SD Tunas Harapan Islam by: (a) providing facilities in the form of learning guide books to read volumes 1-7, (b) providing motivation in the form of praise to students, (c) providing assistance in the form of recognizing letters using the blackboard, providing reading learning guide books to students, and (d) providing direction to students and parents of students. 2) The efforts of the teacher as an innovator in improving the initial reading ability of grade 1 students by: (a) providing assistance in the form of reading learning guidance to students who have problems in reading by providing special time for reading lessons conducted after school, (b) implementing strategies groups in learning, providing classical and sorogan methods in learning, (c) utilizing appropriate learning media, and (d) providing new ways of learning. Keywords: Educational Background, Beginning Reading Ability, Students, Elementary School Abstrak: Pendidikan merupakan serangkaian proses yang sangat kompleks dan melibatkan banyak aspek yang berkaitan pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk mengubah sikap dan tingkah laku manusia ke arah yang beradab. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui latar belakang pendidikan terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada siswa kelas 1 SD Tunas Harapan Islam. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data primerdilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara. Sedangkan pengumpulan data sekunder dilakukan dengan studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisi data melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Peran guru sebagai fasilitator dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaansiswa kelas 1 di SD Tunas Harapan Islam dengan cara: (a) memberikan fasilitas berupa buku panduan belajar membaca jilid 1-7, (b) memberikan motivasi berupa pujian kepada peserta didik, (c) memberikan bantuan berupa pengenalan huruf-huruf dengan menggunakan papan tulis, memberikan buku panduan belajar membaca kepada peserta didik, dan (d)memberikan arahan kepada peserta didik dan orang tua peserta didik. 2) Upaya guru sebagai inovator dalammeningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 1 dengan cara: (a) memberikan bantuan berupa bimbingan belajar membaca kepada siswa yang mengalami masalah dalam membaca dengan memberikan waktu khusus untuk lesmembaca yang dilakukan sepulang sekolah, (b) menerapkan setrategi kelompok dalam pembelajaran, memberikanmetode klasikal dan sorogan dalam pembelajaran, (c) memanfaatkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai, dan (d) memberikan cara- cara baru dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk generasi yang berkualitas dan berpotensi. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kualitas pendidikan adalah gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan otoriter dan demokratis kepala sekolah terhadap motivasi belajar siswa di SD Tunas Harapan Islam kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa di SD Tunas Harapan Islam kota Medan. Kuesioner yang digunakan untuk mengukur gaya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan demokratis kepala sekolah memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Siswa yang berada di bawah kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan gaya demokratis cenderung lebih termotivasi untuk belajar, merasa dihargai, dan memiliki peran aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Di sisi lain, gaya kepemimpinan otoriter kepala sekolah menunjukkan pengaruh yang negatif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Keterbatasan partisipasi siswa dan aturan yang ketat dapat menghambat motivasi belajar mereka.
