<![CDATA[Abstrak Artikel penelitian ini mengkaji sistem representasi proporsional tertutup dan terbuka, beserta persoalan yang terkait. Studi ini menganalisis fitur, keuntungan, dan kelemahan dari kedua sistem tersebut dalam konteks proses pemilihan umum. Sistem representasi proporsional tertutup mewajibkan pemilih untuk memilih partai politik, sementara sistem terbuka memungkinkan pemilih memilih kandidat individual berdasarkan preferensi mereka. Artikel ini menyelidiki implikasi dari sistem-sistem tersebut terhadap pembentukan partai politik, konsentrasi kekuasaan dalam kepemimpinan partai, dan representasi keseluruhan dari beragam kepentingan dalam lembaga legislatif. Selain itu, artikel ini mendalami tantangan dan kontroversi seputar adopsi dan implementasi sistem representasi proporsional tertutup dan terbuka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai kelebihan, kelemahan, dan potensi perbaikan untuk setiap sistem, serta memberikan kontribusi pada wacana yang sedang berlangsung mengenai reformasi pemilihan umum dan tata kelola demokrasi. Furthermore, it delves into the challenges and controversies surrounding the adoption and implementation of closed and open proportional representation systems.
