Traditional woven bamboo products contain formal values of design principles that have similarities with natural visual patterns. Through these similarities, it is clear that traditional bamboo woven products are a process of internalizing various natural visual patterns to become aesthetic manifestation and functional. The aesthetic manifestation is explained in the stages of the internal process of culture in the context of Sundanese tradition. The topic is viewed from the perspective of fine art and design taken from the Rural Community Empowerment Program in Baitul Qurro, Gintung Cilejet Village, Bogor Regency, which runs from June to November 2023. Abstract

Critical Review of Usakti DKV Study Program Course Groups for Possibility of Connectivity Between Syllabi. The major curriculum change in 2023 is seen as a momentum to conduct a critical review of all course groups. These course groups are considered as an important foundation to strengthen the connectivity between syllabi. The results of the critical review are prepared as constructive material to face future curriculum changes, both minor and major. The possibility of connectivity in the context of DKV learning is believed to contribute to the framework of strengthening teaching materials that are comprehensive and non-territorial between one course and another, so that students gain better understanding and learning experiences. Another result of this research is to offer the uniqueness of DKV in all practical courses. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method and was conducted in 2024 within the scope of the DKV study program, FSRD Universitas Trisakti.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is a crucial aspect in manufacturing industries due to the high risk of workplace accidents caused by heavy machinery, chemical substances, and intensive production activities. Companies usually provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as safety guidelines; however, SOPs are often delivered in long textual formats that are less engaging, making workers reluctant to read or difficult to understand quickly. This study aims to design an infographic-based SOP media as an effective visual communication tool to improve workers’ understanding of safety procedures. The research applies a qualitative method with a design approach through workplace observation, interviews with HSE personnel, literature review, and design validation using questionnaires. The results produce infographic media in the form of posters and signage presenting PPE usage procedures, hazard warnings, and evacuation steps using safety color codes, icons, and readable typography. The conclusion indicates that infographic SOP media is more effective than text-based SOP because it improves readability, comprehension, and workers’ memory of safety procedures.
