Abstract

AbstractThe Relevance of Explorative Drawing Course Learning with Visual Communication Design Context. Drawing in Visual Communication Design disciplines is an important basic knowledge and skill to building visual thinking logic. Explorative Drawing course in DKV FSRD USAKTI provides how to build multi-perceptual thinking, learning various visual approach possibilities, and hone artistic skill. Through visual experimentation, students are guided to processing basic visual elements and to applied the design principles. This research aims to formulate the relevance of learning in the Explorative Drawing course with VCD context. The research is an action research based on 2016 curriculum, uses descriptive-qualitative methods with formalism study and S.W.O.T analysis to mapping learning outcomes an formulate recommendations for evaluating the syllabus and learning methods. The result of the research shows that learning in Explorative Drawing course is able to provide students with basic knowledge of visual thinking which required to think and act creatively, and relevant to the dynamics of VCD practice in the future.Keywords: drawing, explorative, VCD, relevance, learning AbstrakRelevansi Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah Gambar Ekploratif dengan Konteks DKV. Menggambar dalam keilmuan Desain Komunikasi Visual merupakan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dasar yang penting dalam membangun logika berpikir visual. Mata kuliah Gambar Eksploratif pada program studi DKV FSRD USAKTI mengajarkan bagaimana membangun cara berpikir multipersepsi, mencoba berbagai kemungkinan pendekatan visual, dan mengasah kepekaan artistik. Melalui eksperimentasi visual, mahasiswa dibimbing untuk mengolah elemen dasar rupa dan mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip desain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan relevansi pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Gambar Eksploratif dalam konteks DKV. Penelitian ini merupakan suatu action research dari kurikulum 2016 yang menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan metode analisis formalisme dan S.W.O.T untuk menilai capaian pembelajaran dan merumuskan rekomendasi untuk evaluasi materi dan perluasan metode pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan capaian pembelajaran yaitu pemahaman dasar visual yang diperkaya oleh berpikir kemungkinan serta bertindak responsif dan dibuktikan dalam bentuk karya tugas. Capaian pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Gambar Eksploratif dipandang relevan dengan dinamika praktik DKV di waktu yang akan datang.Kata kunci: gambar eksploratif, DKV, relevansi, pembelajaran

Abstract

Critical Review of Usakti DKV Study Program Course Groups for Possibility of Connectivity Between Syllabi. The major curriculum change in 2023 is seen as a momentum to conduct a critical review of all course groups. These course groups are considered as an important foundation to strengthen the connectivity between syllabi. The results of the critical review are prepared as constructive material to face future curriculum changes, both minor and major. The possibility of connectivity in the context of DKV learning is believed to contribute to the framework of strengthening teaching materials that are comprehensive and non-territorial between one course and another, so that students gain better understanding and learning experiences. Another result of this research is to offer the uniqueness of DKV in all practical courses. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method and was conducted in 2024 within the scope of the DKV study program, FSRD Universitas Trisakti.
