Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) to know and analyze effect directive leadership style, motivation and dicipline in simultaneously on perfomance; (2) to know and analyze effect directive leadership style on perfomance; (3) to know and analyze the effect of motivation on perfomance; (4) to know and analyze the effect of dicipline on perfomance. This research employs explanatory to investigate the relationship among variables involving 72 samples that have been determined using sencus method. The result show that: (1) directive mode of leadership, motivation and dicipline perform positive and significant effect on personnel’s perfomances at Indonesian Navy of Palu Naval Based; (2) directive mode of leadership perform positive and significant effect on personnel’s perfomances; (3) Motivation perform positive and significant effect on personnel’s performances (4) dicipline perform positive and significant effect on personel’s perfomances.

Abstract

The seawater system is a vital part of the system that supports the performance of the KRI machinery. The functions of the seawater system include engine cooling, fire extinguishing systems, air conditioning systems, and fresh rooms. By all means, these vital system requires intensive main­tenance to create a balanced system in the KRI. In conventional seawater piping systems, several problems come from underwater life, damaging seawater systems’ equipment. Corrosion caused by underwater biota growth can reduce seawater system pipes' service life. Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) is the solution to this problem since MGPS can reduce and inhibit the growth of pipe corrosion and even kill underwater biota that breeds in seawater piping systems. The working principle of MGPS is based on the electrolysis process where copper, iron, or aluminum is used as the anode. The anode is placed on the sea chest or where seawater flows in a system in pairs. This anode is supplied with current and controlled by a control unit installed in an integrated manner in the Machinery Control Room. When in operation, these anodes produce ions which the water flow in the pipes and machinery systems will carry away. These ions will coat the surface of the pipe to make it more resistant to corrosion and kill harmful marine life in the pipe. A well-maintained piping system will optimize all machining performance at KRI so that ship maintenance costs will be much more efficient and the ship's service life will be longer. Sistem air laut adalah bagian sistem yang amat vital yang menunjang kinerja permesinan di KRI. Fungsi sistem air laut antara lain sebagai pendingin mesin, system pemadam kebakaran, system pendingin ruangan, dan fresh room. Tentunya sistem yang amat vital ini memerlukan pemeliharaan yang intensif supaya tercipta keseimbangan system di Kapal perang Republik Indonesia (KRI). Pada sistem pemipaan air laut konvensional, ada beberapa permasalahan yang datang dari hayati bawah laut dimana sangat merusak peralatan yang berhubungan dengan sistem air laut. Korosi yang ditimbulkan oleh pertumbuhan biota bawah laut ini dapat mengurangi usia pakai pipa system air laut. Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) adalah solusi dari permasalahan ini. Dimana MGPS ini dapat mengurangi korosi pipa dan dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bahkan membunuh biota bawah laut yang berkembang-biak di dalam system pemipaan air laut. Prinsip kerja MGPS adalah atas dasar proses elektrolisis dimana tembaga, besi atau aluminium digunakan sebagai anodanya. Anoda ini ditempatkan pada sea chest atau di tempat dimana air laut mengalir pada sebuah system secara berpasangan. Anoda ini disupplai arus serta dikendalikan oleh sebuah unit kontrol yang dipasang secara terintegrasi pada Machinery Control Room. Pada saat dioperasikan, anoda-anoda ini memproduksi ion yang akan terbawa oleh aliran air di dalam pipa dan sistem permesinan. Ion inilah yang nantinya melapisi permukaan pipa supaya lebih tahan terhadap korosi serta membunuh biota laut merugikan yang hidup di dalam pipa. Sistem pemipaan yang terpelihara dengan baik akan mengoptimalkan seluruh kinerja permesinan di KRI sehingga biaya pemeliharaan kapal pun akan jauh lebih hemat, dan usia pakai kapal akan semakin panjang.
