Abstract. The fig plant is one of the plants that can be used as medicine, starting from the fruit, roots, and leaves which have benefits for treating various diseases, diseases such as digestion, respiratory disorders, cardiovascular disorders empirically and is thought to have anti-inflammatory effect, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antioxidant, antivirus, anthelmintic and others. To be able to be used as a medicinal plant that is not only efficacious, but also guaranteed safety and quality, it is necessary to standardize which is an effort to maintain the quality of medicinal raw materials that come from plants. Standardization consists of specific and non-specific parameters. Standardization that will be carried out in this study is non-specific parameters, namely total ash content and specific gravity. The purpose of this study was to determine the total ash content and types contained in figs (Ficus carica L.). The research method used is experimentally in the laboratory of the Islamic University of Bandung. The results obtained for the total ash content of 3.87% and specific gravity of 0.83 Abstrak. Tanaman tin merupakan salah satu tanaman yang dapat dijadikan sebagai tanaman obat, mulai dari buah, akar, dan daunnya memiliki manfaat untuk mengobati berbagai penyakit, seperti penyakit pada pencernaan, gangguan pernafasan, gangguan kardiovaskular secara empiris dan diduga memiliki efek antiinflamasi, antispasmodik, antibakteri, antioksidan, antivirus, antelmintik dan lainnya. Untuk dapat dijadikan suatu tanaman obat yang bukan hanya berkhasiat, tapi juga terjamin keamanan dan mutunya, maka perlu dilakukan standardisasi yang merupakan upaya dalam menjaga kualitas bahan baku obat yang sumbernya dari tanaman. Standardisasi terdiri dari parameter spesifik dan non spesifik. Standardisasi yang akan dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah parameter non spesifik yaitu kadar abu total dan bobot jenis. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui nilai kadar abu total dan bobot jenis yang terdapat pada buah tin (Ficus carica L.). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah secara eksperimental di laboratorium Universitas Islam Bandung. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk nilai kadar abu total sebesar 3,87% dan bobot jenis sebesar 0,83. Nyamuk merupakan salah satu vektor penyakit. Pengendalian perkembangan nyamuk salah satunya dilakukan secara kimiawi menggunakan insektisida. Namun pengendalian secara kimiawi telah banyak dilaporkan menyebabkan resisten terhadap nyamuk dikarenakan bahan kimia tidak mudah terdegradasi dan memberikan dampak negatif pada lingkungan. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan digunakannya larvasida alami. Seperti pada tumbuhan genus Syzygium mengandung beberapa metabolit sekunder yang dapat berperan sebagai larvasida alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi tumbuhan genus Syzygium sebagai larvasida, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi potensi tersebut, golongan senyawa yang berperan, dan mekanisme kerjanya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Didapatkan hasil sebanyak 7 tumbuhan dari genus Syzygium yang diteliti aktivitasnya dan berpotensi efektif sebagai larvasida. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi potensi aktivitas larvasida seperti bagian dan usia tanaman yang digunakan, kandungan fitokimia, lama waktu paparan pengujian, dan bentuk sediaan uji. Mosquitoes are one of the vectors, controlling the development of mosquitoes is carried out chemically using insecticides. However, chemical control has been widely reported to cause resistance to mosquitoes because chemicals are not easily degraded and have a negative impact on the environment. One alternative to overcome this is the use of natural larvicides. As in plants of the genus Syzygium, they contain several secondary metabolites that can act as natural larvicides. This study aims to determine the potential of plants of the genus Syzygium as larvicides, the factors that influence this potential, the class of compounds that play a role, and their mechanism of action. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results obtained were 7 plants from the genus Syzygium which were investigated for their activity and had the potential to be effective as larvicides. There are several factors that influence the potential for larvicidal activity such as the part and age of the plant used, the phytochemical content, the length of exposure time for the test, and the form of the test dosage form.

Abstract. Indonesia has a lot of biodiversity. One of the biodiversity that is used to treat acne is lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) and lemon (Citrus limon L.). The content of flavonoids and essential oils from these two plants have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of lime and lemon plants in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes, to determine compounds contained in lime and lemon plants that have antibacterial activity. The research method used is in the form of a literature study by examining the antibacterial activity of lime and lemon citrus plants against acne-causing bacteria, namely Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Propionibacterium acnes. The antibacterial testing method used is the agar diffusion method. The results of the study showed that the parts of the two plants including fruit juice, fruit skin and leaves had potential as antibacterial against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Propionibacterium acnes as indicated by the formation of zones of inhibition with very strong to weak categories. The content of compounds that have the potential as antibacterial in both plants are alkaloids, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, triterpenoids, terpenoids, steroids, citric acid, limonene and essential oils. Salah satu keanarekagaman hayati yang digunakan untuk mengobati jerawat seperti jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) dan jeruk lemon (Citrus limon L.). Kandungan flavonoid dan minyak atsiri dari kedua tanaman ini memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui potensi dari tanaman jeruk nipis dan jeruk lemon dalam menghambat Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis Dan Propionibacterium acnes, untuk mengetahui senyawa yang terkandung dari tanaman jeruk nipis dan jeruk lemon yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa studi literatur dengan mengkaji aktivitas antibakteri dari tanaman jeruk nipis dan jeruk lemon terhadap bakteri penyebab jerawat yaitu Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Propionibacterium acnes dengan metode pengujian antbakteri yang digunakan adalah metode difusi agar cara sumuran dan cakram. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa bagian kedua tanaman tersebut diantaranya air perasaan buah, kulit buah dan daun memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, dan Propionibacterium acnes yang ditunjukkan dengan terbentuknya zona hambat dengan kategori sangat kuat hingga lemah. Abstrak. Antelmintik merupakan suatu obat untuk membunuh serta mengeluarkan cacing dari tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antelmintik dari ekstrak etanol daun pare (Momordica charantia Linn.), daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) dan kombinasi keduanya terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa dan telur cacing (Ascaris suum). Kelompok uji penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanol daun pare, ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi dengan konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% serta kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun pare 25% dengan ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi 25%. Kelompok kontrol yaitu larutan Hank Salin dan Hank Salin – CMC Na. Kelompok pembanding yaitu pirantel pamoat 0,2% dan piperazin sitrat 15% untuk uji aktivitas pada cacing gelang babi dan albendazol untuk uji aktivitas pada telur cacing. Parameter pengamatan uji aktivitas antelmintik pada cacing gelang babi dewasa yaitu paralisis dan kematian pada cacing, sedangkan parameter pengamatan uji aktivitas antelmintik pada telur cacing yaitu jumlah telur fertil dan persen inhibisi. Hasil pengujian pada cacing dewasa dan telur cacing menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun pare 25% dengan ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi 25% memiliki aktivitas antelmintik paling kuat dengan tipe paralisis spastik pada cacing dewasa serta memiliki persen inhibisi 60% pada telur cacing. Abstract. Anthelmintic is a drug to kill and remove worms from the body. This study aims to determine the anthelmintic activity of ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves (Momordica charantia Linn.), fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) and their combination against adult pig roundworms and worm eggs (Ascaris suum). The test group of this study was bitter melon leaf ethanol extract, fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract with concentrations of 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% and a combination of 25% bitter melon leaf ethanol extract with 25% fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract. The control group was Hank Salin and Hank Salin – CMC Na solutions. The comparison group was pirantel pamoat 0.2% and piperazine citrate 15% for activity test on pork roundworm and albendazol for activity test on worm eggs. The observation parameters of anthelmintic activity test in adult pig roundworms are paralysis and worms deaths, while the observation parameters of anthelmintic activity test in worm eggs are the number of fertile eggs and inhibition percentage. The test results on adult worms and worm eggs showed that the combination of 25% bitter melon leaf ethanol extract with 25% fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract had the strongest anthelmintic activity with the type of spastic paralysis in adult worms and had 60% percent inhibition in worm eggs.

Senyawa sitotoksik merupakan senyawa atau zat yang dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan pada sel, serta dapat menghambat dan menghentikan pertumbuhan sel kanker. Kulit batang trengguli (Cassia fistula L.) dilaporkan memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin. Senyawa tersebut diduga memiliki potensi sebagai antikanker. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas sitotoksik serta menentukan nilai Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) dari ekstrak dan fraksi kulit batang trengguli terhadap larva Artemia franciscana Kellogg menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Pengujian BSLT pada ekstrak etanol, fraksi air, fraksi n-heksana, dan fraksi etil asetat dilakukan dengan seri konsentrasi uji 0 ppm, 10 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, 750 ppm dan 1000 ppm. Pada pengujian sitotoksik diperoleh LC50 pada ekstrak etanol sebesar 280,3496 ppm, fraksi air sebesar 552,5862 ppm, fraksi n-heksana sebesar 169,999 ppm, dan fraksi etil asetat sebesar 167,9964 ppm. Berdasarkan data tersebut ekstrak dan fraksi kulit batang trengguli menyebabkan sitotoksik terhadap Artemia franciscana Kellogg dan yang memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik paling tinggi yaitu pada fraksi etil asetat. Cytotoxic compounds are compounds or substances that can cause damage to cells, and can inhibit and stop the growth of cancer cells. Trengguli bark (Cassia fistula L.) is reported to have secondary metabolites in the form of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. These compounds are thought to have potential as anticancer. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the cytotoxic activity and determining the value of Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) of the pangolin extract and bark fraction on Artemia franciscana Kellogg larvae using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. BSLT testing on ethanol extract, water fraction, n-hexane fraction, and ethyl acetate fraction was carried out with a series of test concentrations of 0 ppm, 10 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, 750 ppm and 1000 ppm. In the cytotoxic test, the LC50 in the ethanol extract was 280.3496 ppm, the water fraction was 552.5862 ppm, the n-hexane fraction was 169.999 ppm, and the ethyl acetate fraction was 167.9964 ppm. Based on these data, the extract and fraction of the pangolin stem bark caused cytotoxicity against Artemia franciscana Kellogg and the one with the highest cytotoxic activity was the ethyl acetate fraction.

Abstract. The leunca plant (Solanum nigrum L.) is one of the local plants that is often used as an herbal plant. Leunca leaves contain antifungal secondary metabolites. The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of the ethanol extract of leunca leaves on the growth of Candida albicans and Microsporum gypseum, and to determine the diameter of the inhibition zone of the ethanol extract of leunca leaves on the growth of Candida albicans and Microsporum gypseum. With the good diffusion method, it was carried out using 4 concentration variations of 10%, 5%, 2.5%, and 1.5%. Negative control (-) contains DMSO and positive control (+) contains 2% ketoconazole. Determination of the diameter of the inhibition zone by looking at the clear zone formed around the wells. The results of the diffusion method test showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone for Candida albicans growth at various concentrations, namely 10%, 5%, 2.5%, and 1.5%, was 17.45 mm, 14.20 mm, 11.70 mm. and 10.65mm. Meanwhile, the diameter of the inhibition zone for Microsporum gypseum growth was 16.45 mm, 14.35 mm, 13.35 mm and 11.75 mm respectively. The conclusion of this study is that the ethanol extract of leunca leaves is able to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans and Microsporum gypseum fungi. Abstrak. Tanaman leunca (Solanum nigrum L.) adalah salah satu tanaman lokal yang sering digunakan sebagai tanaman herbal. Daun leunca mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder antijamur. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur ekstrak etanol daun leunca terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans dan Microsporum gypseum, serta mengetahui diameter zona hambat dari ekstrak etanol daun leunca terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans dan Microsporum gypseum. Dengan metode difusi sumuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan 4 variasi konsentrasi 10%, 5%, 2,5%, dan 1,5%. Kontrol negatif (-) berisi DMSO dan kontrol positif (+) berisi ketokonazol 2%. Penentuan diameter zona hambat dengan melihat zona bening yang terbentuk di sekitar sumuran. Hasil pengujian metode difusi menunjukkan rata-rata diameter zona hambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans pada berbagai konsntrasi yaitu 10%, 5%, 2,5%, dan 1,5% adalah 17,45 mm, 14,20 mm, 11,70 mm dan 10,65 mm. Sedangkan diameter zona hambat pertumbuhan jamur Microsporum gypseum secara berurutan adalah 16,45 mm, 14,35 mm, 13,35 mm dan 11,75 mm. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanol daun leunca mampu menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans dan Microsporum gypseum.

Kanker merupakan salah satu penyakit yang menyebabkan kematian karena pertumbuhan sel yang abnormal pada sel tubuh manusia. Pada tahun 2018, terjadi peningkatan pengidap kanker di Indonesia sebesar 1,8% per 1000 penduduk dibandingkan tahun 2013 yakni 1,4% per 1000 penduduk. Sudah beragam metode pengobatan antikanker yang digunakan dan salah satunya berasal dari bahan alam. Tanaman petai cina (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang dipercaya memiliki beberapa keuntungan dalam mengobati beberapa penyakit, salah satunya yaitu sebagai antikanker. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui nilai LC50 dari ekstrak dan fraksi biji petai cina (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) terhadap hewan uji larva udang Artemia franciscana Kellogg. dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). Digunakan konsentrasi 1000 ppm, 500 ppm, 100 ppm, 50 ppm, dan 10 ppm sebagai kelompok uji untuk setiap ekstrak dan fraksi biji petai cina dan 0 ppm sebagai kontrol negatif berupa DMSO 2%, lalu dilakukan pengamatan mengenai kematian larva udang selama 24 jam. Hasil nilai LC50 yang didapatkan menunjukkan adanya aktivitas sitotoksik karena memiliki nilai LC50 kurang dari 1000 ppm dengan nilai LC50 ekstrak etanol, fraksi air, fraksi etil asetat, dan fraksi n-heksana berturut-turut sebesar 157,543 ppm, 345,939 ppm, 147,979 ppm, dan 204,975 ppm. Cancer is a disease that causes death due to abnormal cell growth in human body cells. In 2018, there was an increase in cancer patients in Indonesia by 1.8% per 1000 population compared to 2013, which was 1.4% per 1000 population. Various anticancer treatment methods have been used and one of them comes from natural materials. Chinese petai plant (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) is one of the plants that is believed to have several advantages in treating several diseases, one of which is as an anticancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the LC50 value of the extract and fraction of Chinese petai seeds (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) against Artemia franciscana Kellogg. shrimp larvae using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Concentrations of 1000 ppm, 500 ppm, 100 ppm, 50 ppm, and 10 ppm were used as test groups for each extract and fraction of Chinese petai seeds and 0 ppm as a negative control in the form of 2% DMSO, then observations were made about the death of shrimp larvae for 24 hours. The results of the LC50 value obtained indicate the presence of cytotoxic activity because it has an LC50 value of less than 1000 ppm with the LC50 value of ethanol extract, water fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and n-hexane fraction respectively 157,543 ppm, 345,939 ppm, 147,979 ppm, and 204,975 ppm.

Abstract. Dental caries is one of the disease that occur in the oral cavity and can lead to an excessive increase in bacteria within the untreated oral cavity. The main bacteria responsible for causing dental caries is Streptococcus mutans. This aims of this study is ti determine the antibacterial activity to ethanol extract from beluntas leaves against Streptococcus mutans bacteria. The antibacterial testing method employed was the agar diffusion method with various concentration variations. The results of the testing revealed that the test extract could inhibit Streptococcus mutans bacteria within the concentration range of 40-100 % (w/v), with the highest inhibitory effect observed at 100% concentration, yielding a diameter of 23,25 mm. Abstrak. Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit yang terjadi di rongga mulut yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan jumlah bakteri yang berlebih di dalam rongga mulut yang tidak terawat. Bakteri yang berperan utama dalam menyebabkan karies gigi yaitu Streptococcus mutans. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol daun beluntas terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans. Metode pengujian antibakteri yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan metode difusi agar sumuran dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi. Hasil pengujian didapatkan pada ekstrak uji dapat menghambat bakteri Streptococcus mutans pada rentang konsentrasi 40-100% (b/v) dengan daya hambat paling besar didapatkan oleh konsentrasi 100% dengan diameter 23,25 mm.
