Abstract

Language is one of the distinguishing factors between human and other creatures in the universe. It is also the identity of a society as there is no society without a language. Both language and society have close relationship that could not be separated as they are interrelated. Every single change in any society has a certain effect ot its language, either in its words or in its meanings. This is also happened to Arabic in the Arab world. Islam that came to the Arabs brought about some significant change in their faith, religious services, attitude and also some other new traditions. To articulate all these new things, the social construct some new terms that are adapt from the existing language by some process, i.e., changing, shifting, broadening and even narrowing the meaning. However, those changes did not remove the original meaning of a word. It means that, many times, a word has two meaning which we knows later as etymological and terminological meanings. This article tries to reveal those changes and distinguish the pattern of the charge.

Abstract

The material object of this paper is a short story written by Jubran Khalil Jubran, entitled Khalīl al-Kāfir. The formal object is Jubran's criticism of religious construction from the transcendentalist perspective. It aims to answer the question why Jubran criticized religious construction in his writing. As a migrant Arabic writer, who has the experiences of living in the Western and Eastern world, Jubran is able to critically read the construction of religion in the Christian tradition. His criticism is expressed in Khalīl al-Kāfir, which tells his protest and rebellion against the religious leaders as well as the exclusivity and formality of religion which eliminate its spiritual dimension as the soul of human mental enlightenment. The analysis shows that Jubran criticized the sacred authority of priests and monks because of his views that God is immanent and existent everywhere. The immanence of God implies that He is being a power in every human soul. Meanwhile, His existence everywhere emphasizes the over-soul of God's oneness with humans and nature, the oneness of God with all creatures in the universe.

Abstract

General Background: The advancement of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is increasingly shaped by digital transformation and financial literacy, particularly through the integration of e-commerce payment systems and accounting practices. Specific Background: MSMEs assisted by the Parepare City Labour Office encounter notable challenges in adopting digital transactions and managing financial records, limiting their growth potential. Knowledge Gap: Prior research has insufficiently explored the combined effect of e-commerce payment methods and accounting literacy on MSME growth, especially in government-supported local business settings. Objective: This study investigates how e-commerce payment adoption and accounting literacy influence the growth of MSMEs guided by the Parepare City Manpower Office. Methods: Employing a quantitative approach, 60 MSMEs were sampled from a population of 150 using the Slovin formula (10% margin of error). Data were collected via questionnaires and analysed using SPSS v30 through validity, reliability, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficient analysis. Results: Both e-commerce payment methods (p = 0.000) and accounting literacy (p = 0.019) significantly affect MSME growth, with joint influence confirmed by the F-test (p = 0.000). Novelty: The study offers a nuanced understanding of how digital and financial competencies synergistically promote MSME growth. Implications: Strengthening MSME capacity in digital payments and accounting literacy is vital for fostering resilience and competitiveness in the digital economy.
