Abstract

This development research aims to produce Student Worksheet with an ELPSA framework in order to improve students' conceptual understanding skills and to determine the quality of LKS based on aspects of validity, and aspects of practicality. The method used in this research is research and development with a model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subject of this research is the development of student worksheets with the ELPSA framework. The instruments used to measure the quality of the developed worksheets are questionnaire sheets for the validity aspect, teacher evaluation sheets for practicality aspects, student response questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests to determine students' conceptual understanding abilities. The quality of the validity of the LKS meets the valid criteria based on the assessment of the validator material experts and media experts, with a percentage of 82.85% included in the very good category. The practical quality of the LKS meets the practical criteria based on the teacher evaluation questionnaire with a percentage of 81.50% which is included in the good category so that the LKS is said to be practical. Student responses to the LKS were obtained from a questionnaire with an average of 44.96 included in the very good category. Meanwhile, to determine student learning outcomes, based on the post-test results of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Sangir, the average score was 91.2 with a mastery percentage of 91.2%, which was included in the highly improved category. Thus, the results of this study indicate that the developed worksheets are said to be suitable for use in the learning process in schools that use KTSP and 2013 curriculum because they meet the quality criteria of student worksheets and can improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of generalizing number patterns in solving mathematical problems based on visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The subjects in this study were three grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. Data collection was done by giving a learning style questionare and a generalization test of patterns and interviews. This research is a qualitative research. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive and classification. The results showed that research subjects who had visual learning styles were able to perform better problem-solving stages than audio and kinesthetic learning styles. This is because the visual learning style has the nature of reading or understanding written instructions which results in the visual learning style being able to code and process information well and regularly. Keywords: generalization process, number patterns, learning styles

Abstract

This service aims to increase teachers' understanding of numeracy literacy and its application in learning. Numeracy literacy is an individual's ability to understand and use mathematical concepts, including symbols and numbers, to solve problems in everyday life. Based on the 2018 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) report released by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the numeracy literacy level of students in Indonesia is still relatively low, ranking 74th out of 79 countries. Therefore, the role of teachers is very important in increasing students' numeracy literacy by integrating numeracy concepts into various subjects, not just mathematics. This service activity targeted 38 teachers at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Bangkala, Jeneponto Regency, who were given training and assistance in implementing numeracy-based learning strategies. The strategies used include contextual learning, problem-based learning, and active learning methods that involve students directly. It is hoped that this activity can increase teachers' understanding in teaching numeracy literacy effectively, thereby having an impact on increasing students' numeracy competence. The output of this activity includes increasing teacher understanding, implementing learning strategies that are more numeracy-based, as well as preparing learning modules as references in integrating numeracy literacy in various subjects. With this training, it is hoped that teachers will be able to develop numeracy learning that is more contextual and relevant, as well as contributing to improving the quality of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Talking Stick learning model supported by Question Box media on third-grade students’ mathematics achievement at SDN 65 Pajalesang, Palopo City. Employing a pre-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design with 23 participants, the research utilized mathematics achievement tests, observation sheets, and response questionnaires. Findings revealed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with average scores rising from 50.00 to 80.52 and an N-Gain of 0.4354 (moderate category). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test indicated a significance value of < 0.001, confirming a substantial difference before and after treatment. Students also demonstrated increased motivation, activeness, and confidence in learning. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the Talking Stick model with Question Box media to stimulate active participation and comprehension. The results contribute to innovative mathematics pedagogy by demonstrating an effective, engaging approach to improving elementary students’ learning outcomes.
