Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to online learning in almost all schools in Indonesia, one of them being SDIT Al-Halimiyah, East Jakarta. This condition requires that every subject, such as Arabic, has innovation in the usage of learning media. Learning media are tools that function to clarify learning materials and help achieve better learning. One of the media that can support online learning is audio-visual media. The focus of the research discusses the online learning process, the use of audio-visual media for online learning, and the inhibiting and supporting factors for the usage of audio-visual media in online learning for Arabic language subjects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The collection technique uses interviews and observations of Arabic teachers at SDIT Al-Halimiyah. Based on the results of this study, the researcher suggested that the online learning process used video materials made by the teachers, PowerPoint, voice notes, and online meetings. Learning videos are one of the audio-visual media most often used by teachers, and for difficult materials, students can ask the teacher through WhatsApp Groups, and Google Classroom. Audio-visual media is the optimal media in the online learning process. The supporting factors are subject matter that is easily accessible and repeatedly, makes it easier for teachers to convey material to many students, and learning materials are interestingly delivered. While, the inhibiting factors are unstable internet connections, the presence of students who did not have adequate electronic devices, and the lack of socialization of the use of audio-visual media from schools to teachers and students. Keywords - Covid-19, pembelajaran online, media audio-visual, mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors underlying the occurrence of the Greco-Arabic Translation Movement, how its process takes place, how the translation transmission system works, who are the figures behind it, and what its contributions are to the advancement of philosophy. This article uses the qualitative method through library research with data sources in the form of historical books written in the Abbasid dynasty, a book titled ‘Greek Thought, Arabic Culture’ by Dimitri Gutas, and articles related to the object of research. It can be concluded that the factors underlying the occurrence of the translation movement were the conquests by the Arabs, the Abbasid Revolution and the demography of Baghdad, and the pre-Abbasid translation movement. Based in Baghdad, this project lasted from the 8th century to the 10th century AD. The translation transmission system applied is the Greco-Syriac-Arabic translation. Some of the figures who played crucial roles in this project were caliph al-Mansur, caliph Harun ar-Rashid, caliph al-Ma’mun, Hunayn ibn Ishaq, the Banu Musa brothers, and Thabit ibn Qurra. This movement birthed the philosophy study. This project contributed to the advancement of philosophy both in classical and modern eras of Arab civilization and the world.

Abstract

This study critically examines the configuration of social stratification in Jerusalem during the period 1174–1185 as represented in the film Kingdom of Heaven. Employing a qualitative methodological framework, the research integrates content analysis and narrative analysis to systematically identify hierarchical structures depicted within the film, including the monarchy, nobility, military aristocracy, urban classes, and non Latin communities. These cinematic representations are subsequently juxtaposed with contemporary historiographical scholarship to evaluate their representational accuracy and interpretive deviations. The findings indicate that, although the film incorporates narrative simplifications and dramatization, it retains the fundamental characteristics of socio-political inequality in the Latin Kingdom particularly the dominance of the Frankish elite, restricted mobility among lower strata, and the interplay of religious authority and political power in sustaining hierarchical order. The study concludes that film functions not merely as a medium of entertainment but as a cultural apparatus capable of shaping public perceptions of medieval societies through selective reconstruction of the past.

Abstract

implementation of the Saudi Vision 2030 strategic agenda has triggered significant socio-cultural transformations, driving a reconfiguration of national identity that is manifested in the evolution of men's fashion aesthetics. This study addresses a lacuna in existing literature, which tends to position traditional clothing as static cultural artifacts, with the objective of comprehensively analyzing the transformation of design, function, and symbolic meaning of three primary garment elements: thobe, Ghutra, and Bisht. Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of historical sources, policy documents, and contemporary studies, this research maps the evolution of these garments from the pre-modern era to the present. The findings indicate that these three elements have undergone a fundamental paradigm shift: the thobe has transformed from a utilitarian desert garment into a symbol of urban professionalism; the Ghutra has evolved from a physical protector into an attribute of hyper-nationalism and youth stylistic expression; while the Bisht has experienced democratization from a symbol of elite exclusivity to an inclusive instrument of cultural diplomacy (soft power). This study concludes that modernization in Saudi Arabia does not erode tradition but rather effects a cultural recontextualization, wherein fashion functions as a dynamic medium in the negotiation of a national identity that is adaptive to global demands.
