Abstract

Karangantu fishing port symbolizes the rapid fishing industry in Serang, Banten. So many activities in the Karangantu fishing port area, such as a place for landing fisherman’s boats, shipping fish catches, and tourism object. These activities may impact the water quality. This research aims to analyze the water quality and pollution index in Karangantu fishing port. The water sample was carried out by purposive sampling in three stations around the Karangantu fishing port area: the estuary area, the fish auction, and the dock. Twelve parameters were analyzed: temperature, turbidity, transparency, TDS, TSS, pH, DO, COD, nitrate, cadmium, lead, and total coliforms. The water quality analysis result was compared by Class III water classification based on PP RI Nomor 82. Water quality was determined by the pollution index based on the minister of environment decree No. 115/2003. The result indicates that the estuary area is polluted, with a PIj score of 6.35; the fish auction and the dock f are in the moderately polluted categories, with PIj scores of 4.99 and 3.90. The worse pollution can be prevented by raising public awareness about the importance of clean water and providing waste management facilities.

Abstract

Labuan Coastal Fishing Port (PPP) is an area with great potential for development in the economic and tourism sectors. Apart from being the center of the fishing industry in Pandeglang Regency, PPP Labuan also has beach tourist attractions. Some activities could cause the entry of heavy metals into waters and affect water quality. These activities include ships refuelling, ships exhaust emissions, ships washing and paint spills, as well as beach tourism activities. The pollution index is used to determine the level of pollution in waters. This research aimed to analyze water quality and pollution indices based on the heavy metals content iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu). Samples were taken from three observation stations, namely the beach tourist area (station 1), the fish auction site (station 2), and the pier (station 3). Analysis of the heavy metals Fe, Ni, Cu was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer method and the results were compared with Indonesian government reulation, PP No. 82/2001. Pollution index analysis wasusing the pollution index method. The heavy metals content of iron (Fe) ranged from 1.761 – 6.907 mg/L, nickel (Ni) ranged from 0.079 – 0.269 mg/L, and copper (Cu) is < 0.001 mg/L. Based on the pollution index (IP), station 1 was lightly polluted with an IP value of 3.75. At station 2 it was moderately polluted with an IP value of 5.91, and at station 3 it was lightly polluted with a value of 4.2.

Abstract

AbstrakPelatihan pembuatan struktur kimia dengan menggunakan aplikasi ChemDraw telah dilaksanakan di SMA Daar El Qolam 2 Kabupaten Tangerang. ChemDraw merupakan suatu aplikasi dalam ChemOffice yang digunakan untuk membuat struktur Kimia. Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran ChemDraw dapat memudahkan dalam membuat dan memahami struktur kimia 2D maupun 3D. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan struktur kimia dengan ChemDraw ini diikuti oleh 24 peserta didik Kelas XI MIPA SMA Daar El Qolam 2 Kabupaten Tangerang. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan tahapan persiapan dan sosialisasi, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi dan pelaporan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 24 peserta mengikuti dan pelatihan dan sebanyak 24 peserta atau 100% peserta mengisi kuesioner yang diberikan. Setelah dilakukan pelatihan, para peserta yang terdiri dari peserta didik dapat mengoperasikan ChemDraw, membuat struktur kimia dengan ChemDraw dan Chem3D, serta memodelkanya dengan media molymod. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, sebanyak 37,50% peserta sangat setuju dengan materi pelatihan yang diberikan, dan 62,50% menyatakan setuju dengan materi yang diberikan. Peserta pelatihan menilai bahwa kegiatan ini bermanfaat dan diharapkan dapat diadakan secara berkelanjutan agar semakin memahami langkah-langkah pembuatan struktur kimia dengan ChemDraw. Kata kunci: chemdraw; pelatihan; sekolah; struktur kimia. AbstractTraining on making chemical structures using ChemDraw application has been carried out at Daar El Qolam 2 High School, Tangerang Regency. ChemDraw is an application in ChemOffice that is used to create chemical structures. Utilizing the ChemDraw learning media makes it easier to create and understand 2D and 3D chemical structures compared to manually. The training activity for making chemical structures using ChemDraw was attended by 24 students from Class XI MIPA SMA Daar El Qolam 2, Tangerang Regency. This training was carried out in stages of preparation and socialization, implementation, as well as evaluation and reporting. The results of the activity showed that as many as 24 participants took part in the training and as many as 24 participants or 100% of participants filled in the questionnaires given. After training, the participants, consisting of students, were able to operate ChemDraw, create chemical structures with ChemDraw and Chem3D, and model them using molymod media. After attending the training, 37.50% of participants strongly agreed with the training material provided, and 62.50% agreed. The training participants considered that this activity was useful and hoped that it could be held on an ongoing basis to better understand the steps for making chemical structures with ChemDraw. Keywords: chemdraw; training; school; chemical structure
