Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the problem-solving abilities of Imelda Medan Private Middle School students. This research was conducted at Imelda Medan Private Middle School in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The subjects in this study were class VIII students of Imelda Medan Private Middle School. The research sample was taken using the cluster random sampling method, with a post-test only control group research design. The hypothesis test shows the results of tcount 5.459 > ​​ttable 2.074, it can be concluded that the level of problem solving abilities of students in the experimental class is better than that of control class students. To see how much influence is carried out using the effect size which shows the value of d = 1.608 so that it is known that the magnitude of the influence of the problem based learning model on students' problem solving abilities is 94.5%. This can prove the hypothesis that the problem-solving abilities of students who are taught by the problem-based learning model are better than the problem-solving abilities of students who are taught by ordinary learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a Realistic Mathematical Approach on Students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability. This research was conducted at SMP IT Al-Hijrah 2 Deli Serdang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a Post-Test Only research design. The research sample consisted of two classes consisting of 21 students in the experimental class and 17 students in the control class. The experimental class uses a realistic mathematical approach while the control class uses conventional learning and both classes are given material on a system of two-variable linear equations. Analysis after being given treatment shows that both samples are normally distributed and homogeneous. The hypothesis test shows the results of t_count 4.3633> t_table 1.6883, it can be concluded that the level of students' mathematical problem solving ability in the experimental class is better than that of the control class students. For how much influence is carried out using the effect size test which shows the value of d = 1.4 so that it is known that the effect of a realistic mathematical approach on students' mathematical problem solving abilities is 91.9%. This can prove the hypothesis that the mathematical problem solving abilities of students taught by a realistic mathematics approach are better than the problem solving abilities taught by conventional learning.

Abstract

Tujuan riset ini yaitu: (1) Terdapat pengaruh KAM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-2024; (2) Terdapat pengaruh KAM terhadap kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-202; (3) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-2024; (4) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-2024; (5) Tidak terdapat interaksi model pembelajaran dan KAM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-2024; (6) Tidak terdapat interaksi model pembelajaran dan KAM terhadap kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa kelas XI APL SMK Negeri 3 Medan T.P 2023-2024. Metode Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif (quantitative research) dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dan kooperatif jigsaw dengan menggunakan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan disposisi matematis.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 3 Medan di Jl. STM No.12 B Kampung Baru Medan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa/i kelas XI Analisis Pengujian Laboratorium SMK Negeri 3 Medan yang mengikuti proses pembelajaran Matematika pada semester ganjil tahun pembelajaran 2023-2024 yaitu tediri dari 5 kelas rombel (XI APL 1– XI APL 5).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Menilai kualitas bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning berbantuan aplikasi Articulate Storyline pada materi pertidaksamaan linear dua variabel dari aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan; serta (2) Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah menggunakan bahan ajar tersebut. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Subjek penelitian ini terdiri atas 28 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 21 Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Rata-rata skor validasi ahli media sebesar 4,56 dan ahli materi sebesar 4,75 keduanya berada pada kategori sangat valid. (2) Berdasarkan angket respon guru dan siswa, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sangat praktis dengan persentase rata-rata masing-masing 97,27% dan 93,89%. (3) Bahan ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning berbantuan Articulate Storyline juga memenuhi kriteria efektif, yang ditunjukkan oleh: (a) ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 92,9%, (b) ketercapaian indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan rata-rata 88,1%, serta (c) respon positif siswa terhadap bahan ajar, (d) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dari rata-rata pretest 19,4 menjadi 88,1 pada posttest. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,79 menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berada pada kategori tinggi.
