Stressors that cause problems cannot be avoided in the lives of everyone. Student life especially in the Health Polytechnic of Health Ministry Yogyakarta and more specifically in those who live in the Dormitory as well. Those who are educated to become health workers later, are demanded not only to be able to provide services or health assistance for others, but more fundamentally is able to deal with and solve their own problems. Those in front of people who need health services are like people without problems and for this reason since the process of education requires the ability and resilience to deal with and solve problems independently. For this reason this research was carried out, so it is expected that with Iman Cognitive Therapy (ICT) they have a high level of resilience. This study was designed with quasi-experiment with pre post test with control group design. Using cluster random sampling with 88 samples divided into 44 treatment samples in dormitories one and 44 samples in dormitories Two and three.Data collected with Qutionare pre and post ICT. Analysis data used univariate dan bivariate T-test. The results of this study get the level of resilience of respondents before and after ICT with a score of 53.5 and 54.6 for the control group (medium-moderate category), for the treatment group 52.8 and 70.9 (medium-high category). After independent sample t-test between the difference between the pre-post control group and the difference between the pre-post treatment group obtained p-value: 0,000, which means there is a difference in value between the control group and the treatment group. Thus it can be concluded that ICT has a significant impact on increasing the resilience of students living in the dormitory of Health Polytechnic of Health Ministry Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Cancer is a disease characterized by abnormal cell growth that invades body tissues, causing pain and discomfort. This pain and discomfort result from tumor pressure on nerves or side effects of treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Self-Selected Individual Music Therapy (SeLIMuT) in reducing pain in cancer patients at Dharmais Cancer Hospital. The research method employed is a case study with pre-test and post-test pain level measurements and monitoring responses during each therapy session. The study involved 10 patients experiencing mild to moderate pain. Music therapy was conducted four times over two days, with each session lasting 15 minutes. Music chosen by the patients themselves created distraction and relaxation effects while stimulating endorphin release, contributing to a reduced perception of pain. The results showed that the SeLIMuT intervention was effective and safe, significantly reducing pain levels measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). In addition to pain relief, music therapy provided emotional comfort and relaxation for the patients. Future studies are recommended to involve a larger sample size, include various cancer types and palliative treatments, and explore different music genres and the psychological impacts of music therapy.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a public health problem, particularly in densely populated areas with inadequate ventilation. Limited community knowledge regarding TB transmission, prevention, treatment adherence, and stigma toward patients may increase the risk of transmission. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge of tuberculosis prevention and treatment adherence. The activity used health education with a participatory approach through interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and demonstrations. The activity was conducted in RW 10 Kricak Tegalrejo in April 2026 and involved 10 participants. Evaluation was conducted using pretest and posttest assessments to measure changes in knowledge, supported by observation of TB prevention practices. The results showed that the participants' mean knowledge score increased from 78% at pretest to 96% at posttest, representing an 18% increase. Understanding of TB-related stigma also improved from 70% to 90%. All participants (100%) showed an increase in scores, and 90% achieved a minimum posttest score of 80%. Participants were also able to correctly demonstrate cough etiquette and proper mask use. Participatory health education can improve community knowledge of TB prevention and support the development of preventive attitudes and skills at the community level.
