Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the church's theological and pastoral strategies in responding to the generational gap between seniors and Millennials and Generation Z in the digital age. This study uses a reflective qualitative approach with a contextual theological framework through a literature study of contemporary theological and social literature. The results of the study show that the crisis in the involvement of the younger generation is not only due to technological changes, but also the incompatibility of the church's spiritual paradigm with the faith needs of the digital generation. Millennials and Gen Z want a community that is authentic, open, and relevant to the realities of life. Therefore, the church needs to reinterpret its calling incarnation, presenting God's love in digital culture and cross-generational relationships. The proposed strategies include the formation of communities as safe spaces, collaborative leadership, and digital-based faith building. Thus, the multigenerational church becomes a form of trinitarian ecclesiology that integrates differences as the richness of God's love for the modern world.  Keywords: Church; Millennials; Generation Z; Contextual Theology; Digital; Multigenerational.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 5.0 has brought significant disruption in various aspects of life, including in the structure and leadership patterns of the church. Digital transformation requires congregational pastors to adopt new approaches, both in communication, church nurturing, and in reunderstanding spiritual authority in the midst of an ever-evolving virtual reality. This article aims to analyze relevant forms of congregational pastoral leadership in the digital age by emphasizing the importance of a balance between spiritual authority and digital competence. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with theological analysis methods and contextual reflection to formulate theological implications and practical strategies for local churches. The results of the analysis show that congregational pastors need to develop contextual spirituality in the digital space, implement participatory leadership patterns in the online ecosystem, and lead the church collectively in innovation rooted in gospel values. This article recommends strategies in the form of sustainable digital coaching, hybrid ministry reorganization, and the formation of a theological and adaptive church culture in response to the dynamics of the digital age.

Abstract

The phenomenon of tongues (glossolalia) has been one of the most important gifts of the Holy Spirit discussed since the time of Pentecost (Acts 2). The Pentecostal and Charismatic traditions see it as a sign of the outpouring of the Spirit, while the mainstream church sees it more as one of the gifts among many others. This article aims to present a theological synthesis of the four main dimensions of language: (1) as the gift of the Holy Spirit that bestows on the body of Christ; (2) as a language of prayer that deepens one's personal relationship with God; (3) as a language of communication to spread the gospel across languages; and (4) as an eschatological sign that indicates the fulfillment of God's promises. This study uses qualitative methods based on literature studies and biblical-theological analysis. The results of this study confirm that glossolalia is a multidimensional pneumatological phenomenon that must be practiced in an orderly, mature manner, oriented towards the development of the body of Christ and the mission of God, so that the church avoids reducing or absolutizing it.
