Abstract

This article discusses the Rhetoric Analysis of Alissa Wahid's Speech in the Women's Webinar Talking Religious Moderation on the Convey Indonesia YouTube Chanel, August 14, 2020. Alissa Wahid is the daughter of the 3rd former president of Indonesia, KH. Abdur Rahman Wahid, who called Gus Dur, is the Father of Tolerance in Indonesia and is also the coordinator of the Indonesian Gusdurian Network. It is important to analyze it because the presentation in the webinar discusses Religious Moderation and Women as Actors, and how women become actors who drive society. For this reason, researchers use descriptive qualitative methods through an interpretive paradigm. The data collection technique is watching, listening, reading, and taking notes. the analysis by interpreting the concept of persuasion and the five laws of Aristotelian rhetoric. The analytical technique used is the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, namely data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and leverage. The results showed that there were three persuasive rhetoric’s, those are Forensic Rhetoric, Demonstrative Rhetoric, and Deliberative Rhetoric used by Alissa Wahid. Furthermore, the findings on Alissa Wahid's speech contained a total of 41 data findings with details of 12 data from the concept of persuasive rhetoric and 15 data from the five principles of Aristotle's rhetorical law.

Abstract

Maraknya radikalisme di kalangan mahasiswa membuat pihak kampus perlu untuk mempromosikan lebih jauh kepada mahasiswa. Untuk itu, keberadaan KHAS TV, stasiun TV yang berada di bawah naungan UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember memiliki tanggung jawab untuk mempromosikan moderasi beragama kepada seluruh sivitas kampus. Namun kru redaksi KHAS TV yang mayoritas masih mahasiswa dituntut memiliki kreativitas yang tinggi di tengah jam kerja yang terbatas. Untuk itu tanpa strategi produksi yang baik, maka produksi siaran tidak akan berjalan dengan baik. Untuk itu, penelitian ini hadir untuk meneliti strategi produksi tersebut, sehingga tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi produksi program KHAS TV dalam mempromosikan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus, subyek penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik purposive. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah observasi dengan bentuk partisipasi pasif, wawancara dengan menggunakan semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Validasi data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Strategi produksi program KHAS TV adalah melalui Program yang diproduksi oleh mahasiswa sendiri, beberapa program bermitra dengan mahasiswa prodi lain. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah 1) Kegiatan Akademik Kampus, 2) PodKHAS, 3) KHAS News, 4) Film Pendek, 5) Film Religi. Nilai nilai moderasi yang menonjol adalah komitmen kebangsaan, toleransi dan akomodatif terhadap budaya lokal.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of communication barriers of pandhalungan students in the Ossing pesantren environment. Cultural differences are faced by many students, especially when they first study at Pesantren, causing challenges, especially in terms of communication that must be done every day. Since this phenomenon often occurs in Osing boarding schools, where many students come from outside the region, it is crucial to research to reduce the impact of these cultural differences. This study focuses on identifying the communication barriers faced by out-of-area students in Osing boarding schools. The research method used was a qualitative approach conducted by conducting a field study. Information retrieval was done through purposive techniques in selecting informants and using observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews in data collection. The collected data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, and data validity was ensured through the triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that the communication barriers faced by migrant santri in Osing boarding schools include language problems, differences in clothing, food variations, and understanding of time. However, migrant santri tend to adapt more quickly in Osing boarding schools because of the cultural similarities in the environment.
