Abstract

Produksi tahu banyak dilakukan secara tradisional dan menghasilkan limbah cair serta padat dari proses pembuatannya. Kandungan bahan organik yang dihasilkan oleh limbah cair tahu sangat tinggi. Air limbah yang dibuang secara langsung ke air permukaan (sungai dan danau) dapat mencemari air, mengurangi oksigen dalam air dan akan mengganggu kehidupan organisme di dalamnya. Pengolahan limbah cair tahu perlu dilakukan misalnya dengan bioremidiasi menggunakan bakteri. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik bakteri indigenus dalam limbah cair tahu dan menggunakan bakteri tersebut untuk pengolahan limbah cair tahu. Karakteristik isolat R3 diperkirakan Pseudomonas sp., sedangkan bakteri R7 diperkirakan Bacillus sp. Perlakuan A (menggunakan isolat R3) mampu menurunkan COD 1%, BOD 33%, TSS 2,9% dan N-Total 12% serta meningkatkan TDS 21% dan amilum 1,9%. Perlakuan B (menggunakan isolat R7) mampu menurunkan COD 1%, BOD5 9%, amilum 46%, N-Total 5,2% serta meningkatkan TDS 21%. Perlakuan C dengan penambahan bakteri R3 dan R7 lebih banyak mendegradasi limbah organik yang ada di dalam limbah karena mampu menaikkan pH dan suhu paling cepat dan menurunkan COD sebesar ± 1%, kadar BOD5 sebesar ± 23%, kadar TDS sebesar 21%, TSS sebesar 8,1 %, N-Total sebesar 8,9% dan kadar karbohirat (amilum) sebesar  34%.

Abstract

Pencemaran udara semakin hari semakin bertambah parah seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah kendaraan yang digunakan sehingga perlu memperbanyakjenis tanaman yang dapat menyerap bahan pencemar seperti Pb dan Sulfur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui kemampuan tanaman Ketapang Badak menyerap logam berat Pb dan Sulfur, (2) mengetahui pengaruh penyerapan logam berat Pb dan Sulfur terhadap kadar klorofil pada tanaman Ketapang Badak, dan (3) mengetahui pengaruh penyerapan logam berat Pb dan Sulfur terhadap stomata daun tanaman Ketapang Badak. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 kali pengulangan untuk setiap stasiun. Hasil uji dianalisis dengan program SPSS  Anava dan Korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman Ketapang Badak memiliki kemampuan menyerap Pb dan Sulfur namun tidak tergolong dalam tanaman yang memiliki kemampuan tinggi menyerap Pb dan Sulfur. Kemampuannya menyerap Pb sebesar 18,397 – 26,971 mg/kg dan menyerap Sulfur sebesar 0,117 - 0,130%. Kadar total klorofil tanaman menjadi kurang lebih sebesar 1,397 - 1,467 mg/g dan nilai indeks stomata tanaman menjadi kurang lebih sebesar 41,63 – 46,45.

Abstract

A preliminary study on marine snails harvest (Gastropods) has been done in Krakal beach, Yogyakarta, during October to December 2003. Krakal beach has become an under-pressure habitat since tourism industry occurred all over Indonesia. Marine snails have been harvested for over two decade in this area but there is no study regarding this activity yet. This study aims to elucidate the harvester’s knowledge about simple conservation and activities such as the way of harvesting, the intensity of harvesting and the income generating from harvesting gastropods.

Abstract

Asian Swallow Bird (Hirundo rustica Linn.) representing one of the type of bird migran which is spread over in almost entire all earth. This Bird type in Java and Bali represent the common winter visitor met in all height. Information of concerning this animal existence in Yogyakarta very minim, last data about existence and amount of Asian swallow bird population in Yogyakarta in reporting in the year 1996 and till now there is no researcher reporting the species existence in Yogyakarta. This Research study about abundance population and distribution Asian swallow bird at season of migration of September 2003 - March 2004 in all region Yogyakarta. Research conducted in all region of Province of Special Region of Yogyakarta consisted by 5 sub-province, that is Sub-Province Sleman, Sub-Province Bantul, Sub-Province Kulonprogo, Sub-Province of Gunung Kidul and Municipality D.I. Yogyakarta. Parameter measured in this research is estimating an abudan of population and location of distribution population. Data intake of is amount of population conducted by direct enumeration, whereas intake of distribution data conducted by noting the name of location and geographical position. Data of result of research obtained in compiling in tables, is later then made by graph of population fluctuation and ploted in map of pursuant to co-ordinate finding of Asian swallow bird individual. To know diffraction resulted by a population enumeration, will be counted with the standard deviation formula. Result of perception indicate that full scale of Asian swallow bird population during a period to migration reach the maximum value equal to 32.579 that happened at third week of November 2003 and amount of biggest population is concentration in jl. K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and jl. Senopati, area Malioboro, Municipality Yogyakarta, that is equal to 28877 36,91. Sub-Province Bantul represent the area which is at most met by the Asian swallow bird location.

Abstract

This study aim to see on ecological aspect of Cangak Abu specifically on its behavior in defending their terittory. This research was done from July to August 2004. Data collecting was done using territory mapping methods with three observation area (1st-3rd). One pair of Cangak Abu observed at each area. Cangak Abu showed some behavior such as vocalization, sound, visual display, visual display-sound, visual display-sound-shortflight, patroling flight and fighting. The territories on frist to third observation areas were OA : 9 m2; OA : 6 m2 and OA : 9 m2 respectively.

Abstract

Ulat grayak (Spodoptera litura F.) merupakan salah satu hama pada tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annum L.). Daun tembelekan (Lantana camara L.) dan Daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) memiliki kemampuan sebagai pestisida nabati. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun tembelekan, esktrak daun pepaya dan kombinasi kedua daun terhadap mortalitas ulat grayak pada tanaman cabai merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat potensi dari ekstrak daun tembelekan, ekstrak daun pepaya dan kombinasi kedua tanaman.Pelaksanaan Rangcangan percobaan  yang dilakukan ialah Rangcangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan diantaranya 3 kombinasi. Perlakuan yang dilakukan ialah Kontrol, tembelekan, pepaya, kombinasi daun tembelekan (25) : daun pepaya (75), kombinasi daun tembelekan (50) : daun pepaya (50) dan kombinasi daun tembelekan (75) : daun pepaya (25). Analisa data dievaluasi secara statistik dengan program SPSS 23 dan analisa data ANOVA. Perlakuan terbaik dalam membunuh  ulat grayak  ialah kombinasi daun tembelekan (25) : daun pepaya (75) dengan persentasi mortalitas ialah 96,7%.

Abstract

Baru-baru ini telah dilakukan berbagai penelitian siput laut secara intensif di pantai selatan Yogyakarta. Fakta menunjukkan pemanenan Gastropoda oleh penduduk setempat tinggi di Pantai Krakal. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk memperkirakan rentang hidup dan pola osilasi berbagai populasi Gastropoda, khususnya Cypraea moneta L., 1758. Pola osilasi dan rentang hidup menunjukkan status kerentanannya, dengan mempelajari kharakter ini selanjutnya dapat dilakukan upaya pengelolaan yang berkesinambungan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan sampling di Pantai Sepanjang, di sekitar bulan purnama selama satu tahun. Siput diukur panjang cangkangnya (mm), guna mendapatkan datafrekuensi panjang cangkang per bulan. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis Elefan untuk mendapatkan nilai konstanta pertumbuhan dan kurva pertumbuhan von Bertallanffy menunjukkan rentang umur populasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pola osilasi yang tidak konstan, baik yang didapatkan di Pantai Krakal maupun Pantai Sepanjang. Abstract

Larvicidal potential of Hyptis capitata grown in Indonesia has not been extensively studied. Its leaves are extracted with the maceration method using ethanol as the solvent. Furthermore, this study aims to use the ethanolic leaf extract of the H. capitata for larvicidal assays against instar III/IV larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus with different concentrations, including 1000, 500, 250, 125, and 62.5 µg/mL. Fractionation of the extract was carried out by vacuum liquid chromatography, and obtained four fractions, namely fractions F1, F2, F3, F4. Fractions were also used for the larvicidal assay. The constituents of the extract were then analyzed with the GC-MS method to predict the components involved in its toxicity. Larvicidal data obtained were analyzed using regression analysis to determine the LC50 value. Analysis of variance was carried out with one-way ANOVA using Tuckey HSD-test on the SPSS ver. 26 at 95% confidence and significance P<0.05. H. capitata ethanolic leaf extract has a higher level of toxicity than its fraction, with LC50 value 990.90 µg/mL. H. capitata ethanolic leaf extract are capable of providing a toxic effect on larvae, with a mortality percentage of up to 50% more. Some compounds that were assumed to play a role in its toxicity include pentadecanoic acid, 2,6,10,14-tetramethyl-, methyl ester; 1-heptadecyne; 9-tetradecen-1-ol, acetate; oxyrane, deodecyl-; 9,12,15-octadecatrienal; and 6,11-dimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrien-1-ol. These finding indicate that the ethanolic leaf extract of H. capitata has the potential to be developed as a biolarvicidal agent against C. quinquefasciatus.

Abstract

Cyclophorus is one of the genera in terrestrial gastropods that inhabits forest floor, leaf litter, rocks, and decayed wood. This research aims to determine the morphological and anatomical characters of the genus Cyclophorus in Indonesia and its phenetic relationship. Descriptive method was applied by conducting observation of shell, operculum, as well as anatomical characters. Cluster analysis in Rstudio was conducted to analyze the morphological data and to see its phenetics relationship. Based on 214 shell and 21 genitalia, 12 Cyclophorus species and subspecies stored in the Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense (from the total of 20 species and subspecies in Indonesia) were identified. The morphological character of the Cyclophorus in Indonesia (shell and operculum) can be differentiated based on the shell shape, shell pattern, spiral bands, the number of whorls, shell diameter, and operculum. Diagnostic characters in the genitalia are the bursa copulatrix and oviduct (female), and penis (male). The cluster analysis shows the separation of adult shells and operculum into six (6) groups i.e. (1) C. nigricans from Sulawesi is allegedly a distinctive species of the eastern region in Indonesia; (2) C. rafflesi eximius from Sumatra and Java; (3) C. theobaldianus from Kalimantan; (4) C. rafflesi dan C. rafflesi rafflesi from Sumatra and Java; (5) C. schepmani and C. steveabbasorum from Sumatra which an allegedly the typical species of Sumatra; and (6) C. tuba plicifera, C. tuba, C. perdix, C. perdix perdix and C. perdix borneensis from Sumatra, Java and Kalimantan.
