Abstract

Vendor evaluation is an important activity to assess vendor performance. PT X is a manufacturing company that manufactures bicycle. Vendor evaluation on export-import department in PT X has been done periodically, every six month. However, the evaluation has been done subjectively because the assessment is qualitative. It is also didn’t give the final conclusion whether the vendor’s performance was good or bad. This is because there are no indicators that indicate whether the vendor’s performance was good or bad. This study applies analytical hierarchy process method in redesigning vendor evaluation to help the company in making multi-criteria decisions. Evaluation items are redefined through the interview and given weights that represent the company’s preferences in evaluating vendors. Evaluation items and weights are arranged into vendor evaluation forms using Microsoft Excel. The results of the study are 3 types of vendor evaluation designs, namely for export vendor EMKL, import vendor shipping agent, and import vendor EMKL.

Abstract

PT. X is an electronics manufacturing that produces various electronics product and components. The company operates three manufacturing plants and one main warehouse; they are all located in separate buildings. Material and components required for manufacturing are stored and delivered from the main warehouse; each materials and components are consolidated and put into a pallet and secured by stretch wrap first before being transported to the three manufacturing plants. The pallet movement is a closed loop, meaning the empty pallets are returned back to the main warehouse. Stretch wrap is a single-use material, once used are discarded. The use of such material is a sustainable issue.  Using Triple Bottom Line approach for the sustainable problem to evaluate and produce a suitable alternative that is sustainable and doesn’t burden the PT X’s financials. TBL approach selects an alternative that can replace stretch wrap by evaluating and measuring how each consolidation method and tool based on factors of Economic Measure, Environmental Measure and Social & Human Measure. Resulting evaluation produces that the suggested alternative, pallet cover is a more economically viable, reusable and relatively easy to use, meaning a better solution.

Abstract

PT Y is a food company that produces wet pia, wet pia that is produced has a variety of flavors, one of which is chocolate, vanilla and others. This study aims to reduce the level of complaints in skeletal muscle and increase the productivity of workers at the packing station work station. Workers at the packing station have an average score of skeletal muscle complaints of 37.5 this value has a greater value than all departments in PT Y. This study uses data collection methods with the nordic body map questionnaire, finding the standard time of workers and analysis of total output, increasing the number of sales at PT Y. The analysis carried out aims to find out this research can solve existing problems or not. The results of this study indicate that the nordic body map method has a significantly reduced pain level in the muscles of the skeletal muscle, because the p-value is below 0.05. The standard time calculation method has decreased and increased productivity of workers with a value of 19.64 packs per hour to 23.16 packs per hour. This research can be a good investment because the total costs incurred do not affect the existing sales value.

Abstract

The problem that exists in the warehouse at PT. XYZ is that there is no material placement layout in the warehouse that supports the FIFO system. The proposal given is to make a layout of material placement in the warehouse by calculating the number of pallets used for each existing material and making a storage and retrieval mechanism that supports the FIFO system will run better. The proposed results can create a more friendly environment for the FIFO system. The ABC method is the main method used to determine the priority of material mapping on the shelves in the warehouse. Then by finding the right order of priority, the calculation to determine the number of pallets used for each material will be easier to find and do. The calculation of the use of pallets that have been obtained will be a reference for the exact location of the material on the shelves in the warehouse, so that the placement of materials in the warehouse will be arranged which creates an environment that makes it easy to find each material to be found and the FIFO system will be easier to run.

Abstract

PT X is company that produces products from palm oil. The production process is carried out using a machine. Spare parts are provided by the spare parts warehouse. Currently, the material number of spare parts consists of 6 random numbers. New material numbers are created using the group technology approach to simplify identification of spare parts. New material number consists of 12 numbers, 4 numbers for machine codes, 3 numbers for component group codes, 2 numbers for component type codes, and 3 numbers for spare part codes. Inventory control in the spare part warehouse is also inefficient. New inventory control are created using periodic review method. Inventory control with a service level of 95% for class A and class B, results in 8.64% cost savings with 4 types of stockout items. Changing the service level 78% in class B results in 15.9% cost savings with 9 types of stockout items.

Abstract

PT. Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam will efficiently redesign the cell assembly connector 3P production line for Everlink 3P, Everlink 4P and the new GZ3 product. The redesign was carried out using the Line Architecture Design Methodology. With the Customer Demand for the three products of 346.63 Pcs/Hr, an architectural design was produced with a total of 3 cells, 2 operators per cell and 3 operations per cell and additional benches to overcome production capacity problems. The new design can produce 384 Pcs/Hrs so that it can meet Customer Demand until 2025. In actual application, the company makes architectural designs with 1 cell, 6 operators per cell and 8 operations per cell. The actual design is not suitable in terms of workload and elasticity, but it can still run to meet the number of consumer demands. Meanwhile, in terms of ergonomics, it is still classified as medium level, which means it is still allowed to operate.

Abstract

PT. X is a gas industry in which the company wants to know the work load ratio of each of the administrative positions in administrative positions in it’s retails for the purpose of manpower efficiency. PT. X did not have data related to work load of several positions. Therefore, this research aims to calculate the work load for several positions in several retailers in East Java. The research was conducted in two retails and in five positions. The data collecting technique is done by using work sampling method. Data processing is carried out using the Work load Analysis method. The results showed that there were four positions categorized as underload. Analysis was done at two position which had the smallest work load. It is found that the root problems are small workplace and bad workflow. The proposed improvements are centralizing of filling station and improving workflow.
