Abstract

Macrozoobenthos found in the waters of Mariah Bandar Springs, Pematang Bandar District, Simalungun Regency, along with physical and chemical parameters, where biological samples, namely macrozoobenthos, were taken using a quadrant and physical and chemical parameters of the water were taken using a dark colored sample bottle and then analyzed at the BTKL The waters that originate from the Mariah Bandar spring have very clear and shallow water, so that the bottom of the waters (substrate) can be seen directly, which consists of sandy rocks. The macrozoobenthos community in the waters of Mariah Bandar spring consists of four classes, namely Clitellata, Gastropod, Bivalvia, Insecta, and eight families, namely Lumbricidae, Thiaridae, Cyrenidae, Chironomidae, Gomphidae, Paludicola, Coenagrionidae, Libellulidae. The temperature at each observation station ranges from 220C – 350C, brightness ranges from 4 – 4.5 m from the surface, dissolved oxygen (DO) ranges from 6.84-8.25 mg/l, pH ranges from 7.36-8.85 , BOD ranged from 1.01-3.42 mg/l. In general, the physical and chemical parameters measured still support the life of freshwater organisms, unless the pH is classified as acid.

Abstract

One of the primary benchmarks for evaluating the quality of higher education is the successful integration of its graduates into the workforce. Unfortunately, the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Medan lacks a dedicated platform to facilitate the dissemination of job opportunities to its alumni and establish partnerships with employers to streamline this process. As a solution, this research endeavors to develop a web-based Alumni and Career Development Center application that serves as a bridge between the corporate sector and the industrial world, enabling alumni to access job opportunities and employers to connect online. The system design incorporates the Agile Method, UML, PHP programming language, and the MySQL database engine. However, there is still room for enhancement, particularly in integrating the candidate selection process. The testing data demonstrates promising results, underscoring the system's reliability for future implementation. The application has undergone testing and assessment, including an acceptability test with a rating of 88.32, falling within the valid range, and a user interface evaluation yielding a score of 0.916667, indicating a very high level of quality.

Abstract

Abstract

Lymnaea rubiginosa as a snail host found in the Babura River, Medan City, is a type of snail that is known to be an intermediate host in the life cycle of several trematode worms. Lymnaea rubiginosa was collected using net sources at four research stations and there were 10 sub stations at each research station. Research in 2023 found Lymneae rubiginosa in juvenile form and only at station two was it found, and even then only in one collection and only one individual. Snails can be infected by Fasciola gigantica and by other trematodes such as Echinostoma sp. and Trichobilharzia sp. as well as oligochaete worms, namely Chaetogaster sp. Chaetogaster sp. infection in Lymnaea rubiginosa snails originating from rice fields and ponds shows that the spread of these worms is widespread. If it is suspected that the worm is capable of preying on the Fasciola gigantica miracidium, then Chaetogaster sp. more effective for use as a biological control. If the Lymnaea rubiginosa snail has been infected with E. hystricosum, then the snail cannot be infected again with other trematodes such as Trichobilharzia brevis. There seems to be a mechanism that inhibits the occurrence of mixed infections. Trematode and oligochaete worm infections in the snail's body can affect the development and growth of the snail. There is no mixed infection between two types of trematodes, namely Echinostoma sp. and Streigidae in a snail Lymnaea rubiginosa supports the phenomenon of antagonism.
