Abstract

Geothermal business development into electricity energy resources is one of the efforts to develop renewable energy to replace energy resources from fossil. Developing geothermal green field in North Halmahera, North Maluku Province are activities that have risk in the implementation action. The SWOT method will raise some parameters that are risk factors in geothermal field development. Risk parameters are data source of geology subsurface, value of geothermal resources, economic condition (financing), social and culture condition, also environmental impact. Every risk needs to be mitigated in geothermal field development plan. Risk analysis in geothermal filed development uses the risk grading matrix method which is a qualitative analysis method that determine degree of risk based on impact and probability. All risks factor has high to moderate impact with high to moderate probability. Qualitatively, using mitigation, will reduce impact and probability of risks become moderate to low. This support to continue attempt geothermal field development at North Halmahera, North Maluku Province.

Abstract

In training cycle activity, Training Need Analysis (TNA) is one part of the cycle which is before design of training. The methodology of TNA can be done in various way. One of TNA methodology is using the questionnaire instrument. The purpose of TNA with tsunami mitigation topic is to find competency gap from respondents which is come from 3 (three) units are Centre of Geological Survey, Centre of Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation, and Centre of Marine Geology Research and Development, and involved 15 respondents. The result of TNA activity is competency gap that found in 5 (five) competencies which is contained in tsunami mitigation activity. The output of product will be using to design trainings with tsunami mitigation topics.

Abstract

Geothermal direct use activity can be also be conducted through the stages of the initial survey (preliminary), pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, utilization, and operations. Manifestation location, which is hot spring, also be disseminated at many points in Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. In many locations of hot spring existence, has been used for public bath. Because some location is close to public residential and is in the route of public transportation road, like as Mengeruda. The location of Mengeruda hot springs has accessibility which is asphalt road for public transportation that have 3.5 meter width. This hot springs is not too far from commercial airport, Bajawa. Several inns like small hotel and quest house, have been around location of Mengeruda hot springs. This is becoming contribution from tourism sector. Feasibility study activity consists market analysis, technical analysis, and financial analysis. These three of analysis activity will give the recommendation as output and result from feasibility study.

Abstract

The PPSDM Geominerba Field Campus, is located in Gunung Masigit Village, Citatah Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. The Campus lies on dominantly carbonate rocks area and cropout volcanic rocks at some other locations, that are formed different morphologies. The rocks composition and rocks physics are involving to constructed the morphology in this area. Based on the slope condition, landscape, and rocks composition, the landscape on PPSDM Geominerba Field Campus and it surrounding, divided into 2 (two) Geomorphology Units. First, Karst Morphology Unit (K2), 70% - 140% slope percent, very steep to almost vertical slope, and the area is constructed by dominantly coral limestone, and a littie bit of massive and crystalline limestones. Second, Denudational Geomorphology Unit (D2), 15% - 30% slope percent, moderately steep slope and the area is constructed by breccias and sandstone volcanic rocks, that reserved ground water or as aquifer layers in PPSDM Geominerba Field Campus and it surrounding. The result of this geomorphology study can be used for environment and geological hazards training materials.
