Abstract

The Development of technology has a major impact on the development of Astronomy. The focus of this research is to analyze the impacts of the digitalization era on the development of Islamic astronomy discourses in Indonesia. This research is library research with a qualitative approach which aims to find out how the contribution of technology in the development of astronomy in Indonesia. The author's data sources in this study are scientific notes either in the form of books or notes from electronic media. The results of this study indicate that astronomy practitioners have made a new breakthrough in the development of astronomy, namely creating digital data-based applications to assist calculations. This scientific collaboration with technology and digitalization creates a harmony between astronomy and technology, thus making the study of astronomy in Indonesia more accommodating to digital era instead of just revolving around the study of science and religion.

Abstract

Indonesia, has two calendars that have been strongly attached to the way of life in its society. These are the Gregorian calendar and the Hijri calendar. In addition, each region of Indonesia also has its own traditional calendar system. One type of traditional calendar that is still alive today is the Rowot Sasak Calendar. The Rowot Sasak Calendar uses the Moon as the base for its calculation system, so it is very similar to the Hijriyah system. But as a traditional calendar, the cultural components in it are very similar to the Islamic Javanese Calendar. So the author is interested in further research on the existence of cultural acculturation between Islam, Java and Sasak in the Rowot Sasak Calendar. This research uses qualitative methodology with field study research type and descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings of this study indicate that there is a strong acculturation between the three cultures in the rowot sasak calendar. The acculturation is based on the system that uses the Islamic calendar (Hijriyah) urfi hisab system. This is proven by the names of the months that adopt from the Hijriyah calendar, as well as the number of days 29/30 each month. Meanwhile, the Javanese cultural element can be identified in the component of determining good days for the community. In addition, the use of market names such as kliwon, wage, pahing, pon and legi is strong evidence of Javanese cultural acculturation. While the elements of Sasak culture itself can be found in the mention of the name of the day and other cultural terms that use terms in the Sasak language. As well as the determination of mangse (season) which uses the 5-15-25 tradition benchmark with synchronization on the Hijriyah calendar.

Abstract

Kalender Rowot Sasak merupakan salah satu penanggalan tradisi yang digunakan, dipedomani dan dikembangkan oleh masyarakat Sasak sebagai penanda waktu, acuan untuk penyelenggaraan hajat, serta bercocok tanam atau bertani di Pulau Lombok. Tulisan ini mencoba untuk mendeskripsikan tentang Kalender Rowot Sasak sebagai salah satu khazanah kebudayaan masyarakat suku Sasak, dan juga menelaah variabel-variabel yang terdapat didalamnya. Kalender warisan tradisi ini menggunakan bintang pleiades sebagai acuan awal tahunnya. Pada mulanya Kalender Rowot Sasak berupa informasi-informasi yang bersumber dari papan warige, namun kini telah bertransformasi menjadi Kalender dalam bentuk konvensional.

Abstract

The Songak ancient mosque and the Bayan ancient mosque are two historic ancient mosques on Lombok island. The two mosques are also witnesses to the history of the spread of Islam in Lombok, so the two mosques are still being maintained and preserved to this day. Besides being a place of worship, the mosques also serve as a place to celebrate Islamic holidays and the culture of the local community. Therefore, it is very important to check the Qibla direction of the two ancient mosques, because one of the conditions for a valid prayer is facing the Qibla. This study produces data that there is a deviation from the Qibla direction in the two historic ancient mosques. The Bayan ancient mosque is considered to have a smaller deviation than the Songak ancient mosque. Masjid kuno Songak dan masjid kuno Bayan merupakan dua masjid kuno bersejarah di pulau lombok. Masjid tersebut juga merupakan saksi sejarah penyebaran islam di lombok, sehingga kedua masjid tersebut masih terus dipelihara dan dipertahanan hingga saat ini. Selain sebagai tempat ibadah, kedua masjid tersebut juga dijadikan sebagai tempat perayaan hari besar islam dan kebudayaan masyarakat setempat. Oleh karena itu, pengecekan arah kiblat kedua masjid kuno tersebut sangat penting untuk dilakukan, sebab salah satu syarat sah sholat adalah menghadap kiblat. Penelitian ini menghasilkan data bahwa adanya kemelencengan arah kiblat pada kedua masjid kuno bersejarah tersebut. Masjid kuno Bayan dianggap memiliki kemelencengan yang lebih kecil dibanding dengan masjid kuno Songak.
