Abstract

Abstract This study aims to Calculating the amount of ice needed to cool the water to 150C in a pre cooling and explain changes in visual quality and extent of the damage vegetable pak choi on cooling than without cooling for 5 days. With this research is expected pak choi farmers and traders can use simple cooling technology. In addition to the application of cooling technology is expected to extend the shelf life pak choi, which in turn will increase profits for farmers and traders pak choi. The results showed that the amount of ice needed to lower the water temperature from 250C becomes 150C is 4.83 kg of ice. In the cold storage for 5 days does not change the quality of pak choi, leaf color still looks fresh with a percentage of 100% quality. While pak choi without refrigeration on the last day of storage and the percentage of damage pak choi untreated cooling on the fifth day of storage at 100%.

Abstract

Abstract Drying a thin layer of cassava slices to the thickness of the slices is done using the Experimental Dryer. Drying is carried out at a temperature of 60 ̊C, observations are carried out every 15 minutes for the first 2 hours then every 1 hour until reaching equilibrium water content. The purpose of this study was to determine the drying characteristics of cassava slices and to determine the equation model between water content to time, drying rate to time, drying rate to water content, and analyze temperature changes in each sample in the dryer during the drying process. This research was conducted at the Post Harvest Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. The research method uses experimental methods, observations and calculations are plotted in a graph and analyzed descriptively. Drying is done until the equilibrium water content. The tools used in the drying process are thermocouples, ovens, desiccators, analytical scale, digital scale. The material used cassava slices with 2 thicknesses are 3 and 6 mm. The results showed that during the drying process there were differences in temperature at 2 thicknesses. Mathematical model of the relationship of water content to time at a thickness of 3 mm is found in sample 2 with a moisture content reaching 1.6% WB after drying process for 7-8 hours with an exponential equation y = 28,602e-0,44x and R² = 0,8256 while at a thickness of 6 mm in sample 1 it reached 2% WB after drying for 11 - 12 hours with the exponential equation y = 41,161e-0.327x and R² = 0.8957. The drying rate model with at 3 mm thickness is with y = 52.336e-0.729x and R2 = 0.9613 and at 6 mm thickness the drying rate model with time is y = 31.845e-0.677x and R2 = 0.9826 while the model drying rate of water content at a thickness of 6 mm with y = 0.3119e0.0992x and R² = 0.7597. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to measure changes in moisture content, change in weight, change incolor and texture which is vacuum packed in the refrigerator to maintain the quality of cayennepepper. This study used a descriptive method, with vacuum packaging treatment at two levels ofmaturity, namely red chili and green bird's eye chilies with 3 repetitions for 17 days attemperature (6-13oC). The results showed that the initial moisture content in the vacuumpackaging of red chili peppers was 49.70% and green chili was 67.21% and the end of theobservation after 17 days in red chili was 50.70% and 82.74% in green bird's eye chilies. Thechange in weight of green chili which was vacuum packed during 17 days of storage was 0.02%.There was a change in color at the end of storage, in green bird's eye chilies, namely dark (greenyellow) and changes in red bird's eye chilies, namely dark brown (red). The texture of greenbird's eye chilies can be better preserved during 17 days of cold storage at 6-13 oC with the base5.47 mm / N, the middle 4.33 mm / N, and the tip 5.37 mm / NKeywords: Cayenne pepper, vacuum packaging, level of maturity, cold storage

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research are 1)Determine changes in moisture content and durationof drying the coffe beans resulting from drying by smoking and drying in the sun. 2)Comparingthe drying rate of coffee beans dried by smoking and drying in the sun, 3)Determine the qualityof coffee beans produced from the drying process by smoking and drying in the sun. The result ofthis study showed coffee beans that are dried by smoking and drying can produce good qualitycoffee beans. Coffee beans dried by smoking 11.04% moisture content, 9 hours of drying time,5.79% drying rate, 82.75 coffee quality. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of palm sugar processing machine HORJA MPN20 including temperature conditions, product yield, energy consumption and energy efficiency of palm sugar processing machine HORJA MPN20 located in the farmer group Karya Tani. The results showed that the average fire temperature in the first to third experiments was 205.30ËšC, 214.4ËšC, and 240.4ËšC, respectively. The yields in the first to third experiments were respectively 9.47%, 10.40%, 11.03% with an average of 10.30%. Gas energy consumption in the first to third experiments were 136,533,62 kJ, 136,533,62 kJ, 141,241.68 kJ with an average of 138,102,98 kJ. The consumption of electrical energy in the first to third experiments were 711.48 kJ, 323.40 kJ, 662.97 kJ with an average of 565.95 kJ. Human energy consumption in the first to third experiments were 502.08 kJ, 313.8 kJ, 376.56 kJ with an average of 397.48 kJ. The energy efficiency of the engine in the first to third experiments was respectively 44.56%, 44.29%, 42.39% with an average of 43.75%. Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this study is to determine the harvest loss in corn using the CombineHarvester Maxxi Corn Type-G. This research was conducted in Lopana Village, East AmurangDistrict, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province in January-July 2021. Harvestingwas conducted with the Combine Harvester Maxxi Corn Type-G on corn plants of the Pertiwivariety that were ready to harvest. This study used experimental methods. Data collection wasdone by observing directly on the corn harvested with the machine. The experiment conducted 3repetitions. The results of this study showed that the loss of spilled corn during harvestingamounted to 0.046% ±0.004%. Unharvested losses amounted to 0.363% ±0.054%. Losses due tolagging on the machine amounted to 0.965% ±0.124%. The total yield loss during the harvestingprocess using the Combine Harvester Maxxi Corn Type-G is 1.374% ±0.101%.Key words: losses, combine harvester, corn

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the Describing the condition and performance of thetool during harvesting using Combine Harvester and calculate capacity and field efficiency usingCombine Harvester. The results showed that the average condition and performance of the toolwith an average operating speed of 0.38 m/sec. The capacity of the results of the mapis 107.6 kgand for the total yield of 732.9 kg / ha. On average in this study the theoretical field capacity was0.277 ha/h, the effective field capacity was 0.147 ha/h and the field efficiency was 52.7%.Key words: corn, combine harvester, field capacity, the field efficiency

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was 1) To assess the performance of cocoa dryers in PT. Pp. London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk. 2) Calculate the efficiency of drying tool during drying process using body type dryer. The materials used are cocoa beans amounting to 1000 kg and gamal wood as a heat source of 249.02 kg. The results showed that the temperature resulting from this dryer is in the temperature range of 62.59°C -68.6°C where the moisture content of cocoa beans produced after the drying process in this tool is 7.85 % and the drying rate is 2.94 %/h, within 12 hours of drying and the efficiency of the drying tool is 19.68%. Abstract

Abstract Soybean (Glycine max (L.) is a food commodity that produces vegetable protein which is very important, both because of its nutritional content, safe for consumption, and price compared to animal protein sources. Sifting is the separation of a mixture of solid particles that have various sizes of materials using a sieve. The sieving process is also used as a cleaning tool, separator of impurities whose size is different from the raw material. The purpose of the study this is the design and technical test of a sieve type cleaning device mounted on a soybean thresher machine MPT001. This research has been carried out in a home workshop and includes the manufacture of a sifter, sifting experiments and data analysis of research results. This research includes design and technical testing of cleaning equipment sieve type, Sieve device Soybeans are designed and manufactured to help farmers speed up the threshing process. Tests in the field using soybeans that are still in the stove were carried out for 3 repetitions and obtained: The average cleaning efficiency is 0.41%, and the average cleaning capacity is 33,19 kg/hour. The number of threshing results for each replication was an average of 1.7 kg. An average of 5.86 kg was wasted or other foreign objects. Reduce process chain and reduce processing time. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe the operating conditions and performance of the soybean thresher MPT001 type during the threshing process, determine the total losses in threshing process using soybean thresher machine MPT001 and determine the rendemen of soybean thresher machine type MPT001. The results showed that the average engine rotation per minute 639.24 RPM and the average thresher capacity was 33.19 kg/h (grain) at 17,8 % moisture content. The results also show that losses of soybean threshing are those unthreshed soybean seed at the output hole averaged (5.23 ± 0.26) % and the losses are those unthreshed soybean seed that escape the thresher at the rear with stove (2.51 ± 0.81) %. Total loss of threshing used MPT001 type soybean thresher machine is (7.74 ± 0.92) %. The yields of machine 18.18 %, 18.06 % and 18.93 % respectively with an average of 18.39 %.
