Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to make the process of picking goods according to their type easier, so that the distance of transporting materials is shorter than the previous distance. FSN Analysis classifies goods based on the frequency of demand, and Class Based Storage groups goods based on their category (FSN) and places them in strategic locations in the warehouse. In this research, changes to the warehouse layout were made manually based on the results of the FSN analysis and the application of the Class Based Storage method. The results of the FSN Analysis are 7 types of Fast moving category goods, 6 types of Slow moving category goods, and 2 types of Non-moving category goods. FSN analysis is made by sorting all frequencies of goods from the highest value, as well as cumulative calculations and frequency percentages. By comparing the initial layout with the proposed layout, data processing results in a total decrease from IDR 6.558.992,00/ month to IDR 3.825.480,00/ month, or 41,7% more efficient by using the proposed layout based on the Class Based Storage method and FSN Analysis reduce moment material handling 42%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the problem of storing goods in PT XY's warehouse will be solved if using a storage optimization policy that uses the Class Based Storage method and FSN Analysis as a review and reference material in arranging future storage layouts.

Abstract

Every company generally has problems about the company's inventory control system. The ability to meet demand with the right amount, time and location. Common models such as EOQ / EPQ are often used in inventory planning and control. The assumption of using this model requires cost and demand data that must be known and fixed. So that in solving inventory system problems sometimes there is a lack of information about similar data. So the development is needed to adjust to the conditions and industrial environment. One is an integration model between suppliers and buyers that results in lot sizes that minimize total inventory costs. Then it can be done an integration between suppliers and buyers by using fuzzy. This Model is designed to overcome the uncertainty of demand by describing it in the form of triangular fuzzy numbers. The results of the research using this method and involving an iterative approach obtained optimal results where the production quantity was 57,07 units and the delivery frequency was 3 times so that it could minimize the total inventory cost with a total cost of $242,05.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company engaged in the production of NPK fertilizer. During its production process, the company frequently encounters machine downtime issues that significantly affect overall production effectiveness. This study aims to evaluate machine performance effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method by assessing three key components: Availability, Performance, and Quality, as well as to identify the dominant sources of failure through Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel through descriptive and comparative approaches to calculate the average OEE value, identify the contribution of the Six Big Losses, and determine the Risk Priority Number (RPN) in FMEA. The results show that the average OEE value was 83%, consisting of Availability 76%, Performance 110%, and Quality 99.8%, which remains below the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) standard of 85%. The largest loss factor originated from idling and minor stoppages, contributing 38.2% of total production losses. FMEA analysis identified the most critical failure mode in the gearbox/fluid coupling of the conveyor, with the highest RPN value of 448.3, caused by mechanical wear and insufficient periodic inspections. Based on these findings, it is recommended to implement a scheduled preventive maintenance program, ensure the availability of critical spare parts, and enhance operator competence in machine operation and monitoring to improve the overall production system effectiveness.

Abstract

Employee productivity is a critical factor for organizational success in an increasingly competitive industrial environment. Workload is often perceived as a determinant that can influence productivity, with effects varying depending on individual adaptability and management support. This study aims to analyze the relationship between workload and employee productivity at PT Semesta Berkat Utama. A quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional design was applied, involving all 10 employees selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through closed questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using Spearman rank correlation due to non-normal data distribution. The results show a very strong positive correlation between workload and productivity (r = 0.967, p = 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that higher workload is associated with higher productivity in this context. The coefficient of determination (r² = 0.991) suggests that workload explains 99.1% of productivity variance. These findings imply that high workload can act as a performance driver when supported by strong motivation and work commitment. The study provides practical insight for proportional workload management to sustain optimal productivity.
