Abstract

Fresh Oil Palm Bunches Trading System (Case Study of Tegar Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province). Oil palm is one of the leading commodities in Mandau District with a total production of 812,927.8 tons. Unfortunately, this large production has not been facilitated by an efficient trading system, especially when viewed from the benefits received by farmers in Tegar Village. This study aims to analyze the trading system, trading channels and trading costs, as well as the share margin received by each of the trading channels of fresh oil palm bunches in Tegar Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency. 30 farmer respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. Using qualitative and quantitative analysis, this study shows that the trading system of fresh oil palm bunches in Tegar Village is a one channel trading pattern, in which farmers sell to intermediary traders, who then transport the fresh oil palm bunches to palm oil processing factories. The trading system analysis result shows that the margin value in this channel is 14.23%, with farmer's share of 85.77%, and a profit ratio of 43.60%. Operationally this channel is an efficient channel.

Abstract

The Roles of Mina Segara Cooperative in Improving Iodized Salt Farming in Kusamba Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency, Bali Province. The definition of cooperative according to Law 25/1992 on cooperative is a business entity that acts as a driving force for the people's economy with the principle of kinship. The Mina Segara Cooperative, located in Kusamba Village, is a cooperative that acts as a production unit of iodized salt through the Uyah Kusamba program. This study aims to determine the roles of the Mina Segara Dana Cooperative in improving the iodized salt farming in Kusamba and the economic and social impacts of the cooperative for salt farmer families. This research is quantitative research with a descriptive analysis method. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires and through in-depth interviews. The results show that the roles of the cooperative include determining the purchase price, organizing standardized packaging of products, and helping promotion. The cooperative also facilitates government extension programs for salt farmers. Mina Segara Cooperative must be able to take advantage of online media as a new promotional medium to expand the market and increase sales.

Abstract

Analysis of The Profitability Level of Laying Chicken Farmers Based on Business Scale (Case Study: Manggis District, Karangasem) Livestock is one of the sub-sectors that plays a critical role in supplying food needs, particularly for animals. Laying hens are one of the farms that the community has created, with eggs as the major product. Manggis District, Karangasem, is one of the ideal regions for the development of laying hens. The goal of this research is to define and assess the business earnings of laying hens based on their size of operation. The information was gathered by the distribution of questionnaires to 30 laying hen breeders. Secondary information gleaned from linked literature. The study's findings include a description of the laying hen business, which is conducted on dry land with a population of chickens ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 heads, and the workers employed are from their own families as well as from outside the community. The benefits of laying hens range depending on the size of the business. Farmers with a business scale of more than 10,000 heads get the highest profit of Rp 4,179,976,688, while farmers with a business size of fewer than 5,000 heads earn the lowest profit of Rp. 1,287,538,708. As a result, farmers in each business scale earn by 12% of overall revenue and costs incurred throughout a period of chicken growing.

Abstract

Analysis of Business Competitiveness of Guppy Fish Cultivation (Poecilia reticulata) in East Jakarta City Indonesian fishery products that are quite popular are ornamental fish. Ornamental fish such as guppy fish are quite popular in Indonesia, especially in the city of East Jakarta. Although guppy fish cultivators in the city of East Jakarta to be able to apply land use in limited land issues, cultivators must continue to apply an efficient system so that still have competitiveness with other regions. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze comparative and competitive advantages in guppy fish farming based on business scale in East Jakarta City, and to analyze the effect of output prices and input prices on comparative and competitive advantages of guppy fish farming in East Jakarta City. Based on the research results obtained using themethod Policy Analysis Matrix, every large scale business gets a bigger profit compared to the potential scale. Based on the value of Private Cost Ratio and Domestic Resource Cost Ratio which is less than one, it proves that there is competitiveness in the guppy fish farming business in East Jakarta City. The calculation of the value of other indicators analysis shows that the efficiency of the input is not determined by the size of the business scale. In the influence of government policies on input and output, it was found that a decrease in input prices was 17.65% and a combination of decreases in input output could increase the value of comparative and competitive advantage. There is a need for a joint development program that is open to all guppy fish farmers in East Jakarta City, it is necessary to have supporting policies and sustainable research at the national level.
