Abstract

Abstract. Along with the changing trends that occur every year, this has an impact on people changing lifestyle. One form of this change is that coffee consumption has become a lifestyle of some communities which has led to the emergence of many coffee shops, one of which is Teman Lama. During their business development, Teman Lama experienced problems related to human resources. This indicated by the high employee turnover rate owned by the company. Based on preliminary study, it is known that the root of the problems experienced by Teman Lama lies in need to redesign the job analysis of each position consisting of job descriptions and job specifications. This is because employees often feel confused about doing their work and tend to do work outside their position which makes the burden they are carrying out exceeds what they are supposed to do. This happens because job analysis is not clear or even not owned by each position, thus triggering a constantly changing employee turnover rate. Therefore, this research helps Teman Lama to design job analysis that can solve their root problems. Teman Lama can also use job analysis into other human resource activities such as recruitment, performance appraisal, and compensation. Keywords: Job Analysis, Job Description, Job Specification, Employee turnover rate

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has spread across the globe and is one of the reasons for limiting human activities, one of which is schooling. One of the nations impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic is Indonesia. The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture published a policy addressing teaching and learning activities for all levels of education, starting with early childhood education and ending with universities, which must take out online teaching and learning activities by March 2020. The use of online learning activities is definitely not simple since it is something new, and, of course, there are benefits and drawbacks as well as difficulties that emerge in its implementation. This research will look at the experiences of SBM ITB management students from the class of 2021 and how they affect student stress. The findings of this research were obtained via a qualitative method. Gadzella's Student-Life Stress Inventory was used in this study. In conclusion, there are three degrees of stress: mild, moderate, and severe. Mild stress is the most frequent. This study found that students only experienced mild to moderate stress. Interactions (frustration), academic load (pressure), the environment (changes) and infrastructure (frustration) are all stressors. Students' physiological and emotional reactions to stress are distinct. They experience backaches, aches, and tired eyes. They are lonely, mentally tired, bored, and depressed. The data analysis presented showed both positive and negative aspects of online learning. It reduces physical fatigue, improves understanding of the material, is more flexible, and costs less. Online learning has a negative psychological and physical effect on students. Keywords: Online Learning, Stress, Stressor

Abstract

Abstract. Water connects every aspect of life, but access to it still becomes a problem for some communities in the world. Many initiatives in the form of community development program have been developed to help people to get better access to fresh water. To accomplish this, it needs several steps to be done. It starts with the needs identification and ends with the program implementation. However, the question is whether the identified needs is the priority and whether the program recipient needs it. This condition causes that not few community programs end ineffectively. The community development program is not only about the program, but the term explains the overall process. This paper is to explore how Participatory Action Research can be a method to increase the efficiency of the community development program by taking a case of community development program run by students of a business school in Indonesia. By using the Participatory Action Research method, the students identified problems faced by the community and worked collaboratively with them to solve the problem. As a result, they built a freshwater facility that can be used by all of the people in the community, and now they have better access to water, so they no longer have difficulty in getting fresh water especially in the dry season. With this new freshwater facility that is owned and managed communally, people have enough water supply to fulfill their needs as well as to support their activities such as make irrigation that eventually can increase their wellness. Keywords: Access to fresh water, community development, collaborative action, participatory action research, sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract. This research implements game-based learning to build rice farmers' awareness of the importance of using mechanization or advanced technology in agriculture. The use of mechanization is one way to increase farming productivity and efficiency, improve the quality and added value of products, and empower farmers. This study examines farmers' attitudes towards the adoption of mechanized methods and proposes a suitable game-based learning approach. First, qualitative methods were employed to develop the game by gathering information, pilot testing, and asking for feedback from farmers. Then, the quantitative method is applied to assess the game's effectiveness using a post- and pretest questionnaire. Cluster analysis was also conducted to determine the proper learning approach based on the farmers' characteristics. The game-based approach is shown to shed light on fostering the adoption of mechanized methods. There are two clusters identified. On average, the first cluster has a younger age, higher educational background, and more positive attitudes toward using mechanized methods. The second cluster, on average, has an older age, a lower educational level, and lower scores in their attitudes toward the adoption of mechanization. The findings also suggest that the farmers in the first cluster may be reached using a pedagogy-based approach, whereas the second is likely to be more receptive to an andragogy-based approach. Keywords: Agriculture; rice farmers; mechanization method; game-based learning; learning approachAbstrak. Katakunci: Pertanian; petani padi; metode mekanisasi; pembelajaran berbasis permainan; pendekatan pembelajaran

Abstract

The food and beverage service industry has grown rapidly in Bandung region over the past ten years. The industry itself is a customer-focused industry. In this regard, employees are a valuable asset for a company. Therefore, a company needs to have employees engaged in their workplace. The ability of engaged employees to assist the business in numerous ways, particularly concerning sustainability, has also been demonstrated. As a holding company founded in 2017, PT XYZ manages six cafe branches in Bandung and Cimahi. During an interview, the human resources manager stated that in 2022, the turnover rate increased by 4% compared to the previous year in 2021, when there were no resignations at all. Apart from that, many employees are content to stay in the company. In addition, the company had never conducted an employee engagement assessment to measure employee engagement to the company since it did not have the tools while measuring employee engagement is considered important for improving its overall performance. The researcher chose the Aon Hewitt employee engagement model to measure employee engagement because it can classify and identify facets of employee engagement consisting of “say, stay, strive.” The model can also determine which drivers influence an employee’s engagement or disengagement. A Likert scale-based questionnaire from 1 to 6 was distributed to 122 employees as part of the research’s quantitative methodology. The study’s findings indicate that 81% of PT XYZ employees are highly engaged, with an average of 80% of employees representing “say, stay, strive.” In addition, diversity and inclusion is a driver that influences employees to be engaged, with a value of 92.37, while the last-ranked driver is a risk, with a value of 64.69.

Abstract

An organization's innovation potential is highly correlated with its ability to use its intellectual and organizational knowledge resources. Consequently, hiring high-potential individuals is one of the key issues for businesses looking to maintain a competitive advantage in the sector. However, the workforce is experiencing a demographic shift as Generation Z enters the job market in significant numbers. Given that Generation Z will ultimately dominate the workforce, this demographic shift poses a long-term challenge for businesses to understand their demands, preferences, and factors impacting their interest in applying for jobs. Additionally, establishing gender equality and increasing the involvement of women in the workforce are top recruitment goals for businesses today. In light of these circumstances, this study examines how different aspects of employer branding influence Generation Z women's intention to apply for a job and whether the person-organization fit plays a mediating role. The research employs a quantitative approach, distributing questionnaires to 335 female students of Generation Z at Bandung Institute of Technology, which will be analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling). The findings demonstrate that within the context of Generation Z at Bandung Institute of Technology, four of the five employer branding dimensions—development, economic, application, and interest value—significantly and positively impact the intention to apply for a job. However, the study also indicates that person-organization fit does not act as a mediating variable in this regard. This research offers valuable insights to companies, allowing them to improve their existing employer branding strategies and enhance their recruiting and talent acquisition approaches. By effectively attracting, engaging, and retaining Generation Z women in the workforce, companies can foster greater gender diversity and equality in the present job market.
