Abstract

The study aimed to find out the misconceptions of Newton's Law in class XI MIA 1 students at SMA Katolik Santo Andreas Palu. The data collection instrument was a multiple-choice test with a total of 15 questions regarding Newton's Law material accompanied by a Certainty of Response Index (CRI) test to determine the respondent's level of confidence in answering the questions. The test result data was analyzed to determine the percentage of misconceptions in each given question. The conclusion of this study is that the students of class XI MIA 1 at SMA Katolik Santo Andreas Palu experienced misconceptions which were included in the moderate category with an average percentage of 40.30%. Thus, it is necessary to pay attention to students in the form of providing examples of applications in everyday life, balancing teaching between concepts and calculations, giving explanations to students in accordance with existing concepts, asking back lessons that have been learned, and providing remediation.

Abstract

In the pandemic Covid-19 era, schools are required to obey the health protocol. The Covid-19 handling health team requires a health protocol that is always wearing a mask, washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, maintaining distance, and cleaning the room with disinfectant. However, the awareness of using masks by teachers and students in schools is still low. The general complaint that is felt is difficult to breathe by using a mask for a long time. The difficulty of breathing by using a mask because the inhaled air will experience obstacles that enter the nose. The problem of obstructing air breathing air with a mask needs to be repaired by the mask to be comfortable to use. The concept of air movement concerns its pressure and speed on learning taught in pressure and speed material. This concept becomes the basis in understanding the circulation of respiratory air that occurs in the mask. By looking at this interesting situation it is necessary to make a physics learning media that can be used directly by students or teachers and in accordance with the current pandemic conditions. Making alearning media is summarized in training activities for making micro brushless fan masks. The training provided is a way to make a micro brushles fan mask that can control the Covid-19 virus, students and teachers can produce products that are useful and can be used directly at school which ultimately has a big impact on the community.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing whether there were differences in learning outcomes in Science Physics between students following the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative model and the Script type in class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Palu. This research is the quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Palu. The sample in this study was students of class VIII D as an experimental class 1 with 21 students and class VIII B as an experimental class 2 with 20 students. The post-test Science Physics learning results obtained showed that the average score of the experimental group 1 was 16.5 and the experimental group 2 was 12.15 for an ideal score of 20 and the standard deviation of experiment 1 was 4.56 and experiment 2 was 3.95. Test the hypothesis t test (two parties) at a significant level α = 0.05 and degree of wettability, dk = 39 where t0.975(39) = 2.02 and tcount = 3.27 with criteria H0 is accepted if –t (1-1/2α) < t < t(1-1/2α). So, it can be seen that the value of tcount is in the area of rejection of H0, thus H1 is accepted. It was concluded that there were differences in learning outcomes in Science Physics between students who participated in cooperative learning of the Two Stay Two Stray type and the Script type.
