Abstract

The main problem in this research is the low ability of students to solve physics problems. Students' attitudes and approaches to problem-solving are allegedly related to the way they study physics and their success in solving physics problems. This study demonstrated student attitudes and approaches to solving physics problems using Attitudes and Approaches to Problem Solving (AAPS) survey questions using quantitative methods. Data were collected from 1045 students. Data analysis was carried out by grouping the data by gender and education level. The t-test was used to see the differences in each group. The result showed no statistically significant differences between men and women (t = -1,65 dan Sig. = 0,098 > 0,05). In addition, there was a significant difference in the level of education between collect students with junior and senior high school education levels (p < 0.05). The implications for practice, and the directions for future research are discussed.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of the Course Review Horay (CRH) cooperative learning model on the physics learning outcomes of class VIII students of MTs Negeri 1 Palu. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group. The population of this research was all students of class VIII MTs Negeri 1 Palu. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with the research sample being class VIII G as the experimental group and class VIII E as the control group. The instrument was a multiple choice test that has been validated by an expert validator. The physics learning result test obtained showed that the pretest average score of the experimental group was 43.95 and the control group was 42.05, while the posttest average score of the experimental group was 75.15 and the control group was 62.65. From the results of the t-test, it was found that there was an effect of student learning outcomes using the Course Review Horay (CRH) cooperative learning model on physics learning outcomes in class VIII students of MTs Negeri 1 Palu.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in physics learning outcomes between classes using the Think Pair Square cooperative learning model and the Cooperative Student Teams Achievement Divisions. The research method used is a quasi-experimental, with a research design "the non equivalent pretest-posttest design". The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The research sample was class VIII G as experimental class A (32) and class VIII F as experimental class B (34). The instrument used was a multiple-choice test of learning outcomes. Based on the results of data processing, for the experimental class A the mean score of the initial test was 7.81 and the final test score was 20.06. In the experimental class B, the mean score of the initial test was 8.68 and the final test score was 18.79. The results of statistical calculations from hypothesis testing using the t-test concluded that there are differences in physics learning outcomes between classes that follow the Think Pair Square learning model and Student Teams Achievement Divisions at SMP Negeri 3 Palu.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study whose data is about understanding the concept of straight motion kinematics material using CRI (Certainty of Response Index). This study aims to describe, identify and analyze students' understanding of the kinematics concept of straight motion. The samples taken were 20 students of grade 11 IPA I SMA Negeri 1 Palu. The instrument used is multiple choice questions as many as 14 questions that have been selected through a validation test. Students answer the question by adding CRI points (0-5) according to the student's level of confidence with reasons. Students can be declared to understand the concept, do not understand the concept or experience misconceptions by comparing whether or not the answers to the questions given are correct with the CRI scores filled in by students. The results obtained in this study, namely for students who understand the concept have a percentage of 13.57%, while misconceptions are 38.57% and those who do not understand the concept are 47.86%. This shows that students tend not to understand the concept because students are only able to memorize without understanding the material taught by the teacher so that students tend to forget. Some of the misconceptions (wrong concepts) that occur in students are identified, among others; analyzing images, distances, displacements on story problems and graphs on glb, glbb and parabolic motion.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model on physics learning outcomes. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group. The population of this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 5 Palu. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with the research sample being class X MIPA 3 as the experimental group and class X MIPA 4 as the control group. The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple-choice questions. The increase in the average N-Gain in the experimental class was 50.88% while in the control class it was 22.68%. Based on the hypothesis test t-test (one party) obtained tcount = 2.88 and t0.975 (67) = 2.00 at the real level = 0.05. This means that the value of tcount is outside the acceptance area of H0. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of student learning outcomes using the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperative learning model on physics learning outcomes in class X SMA Negeri 5 Palu

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Discovery-Inquiry learning model on improving the senior high school students' creative thinking skills in material of physics. The study was pre-experimental. The research design was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected by purposive sampling. The sample in this study was class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 5 Palu as the experimental group. The average pretest score in this study was 11.27 and the average posttest score was 14.40 out of a total score of 24. The results of the N-gain calculation were 36.5%. It shows that the N-gain value is in the medium category. The results of hypothesis testing show that the value of tcount = 18.57 > ttable = 1.69 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Discovery-Inquiry learning model on improving senior high school students' creative thinking skills in material of physics.

Abstract

In the pandemic Covid-19 era, schools are required to obey the health protocol. The Covid-19 handling health team requires a health protocol that is always wearing a mask, washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, maintaining distance, and cleaning the room with disinfectant. However, the awareness of using masks by teachers and students in schools is still low. The general complaint that is felt is difficult to breathe by using a mask for a long time. The difficulty of breathing by using a mask because the inhaled air will experience obstacles that enter the nose. The problem of obstructing air breathing air with a mask needs to be repaired by the mask to be comfortable to use. The concept of air movement concerns its pressure and speed on learning taught in pressure and speed material. This concept becomes the basis in understanding the circulation of respiratory air that occurs in the mask. By looking at this interesting situation it is necessary to make a physics learning media that can be used directly by students or teachers and in accordance with the current pandemic conditions. Making alearning media is summarized in training activities for making micro brushless fan masks. The training provided is a way to make a micro brushles fan mask that can control the Covid-19 virus, students and teachers can produce products that are useful and can be used directly at school which ultimately has a big impact on the community.
