Abstract

Bahoi merupakan desa pesisir yang terdapat di Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Sulawesi Utara. Pesisir Bahoi menyuguhkan ekowisata bahari yang diantaranya adalah mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang. Adapun fokus dalam tulisan ini adalah ekosistem lamun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman lamun di pesisir Desa Bahoi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode purposive sampling dengan menggunakan transek kuadrat berukuran 50 x 50 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat enam jenis lamun yaitu Enhalus acoroides, Thallasia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila ovalis, dan Halodule uninervis. Frekuensi dan kerapatan lamun didominasi oleh jenis lamun berukuran besar seperti E. acoroides dan T. hemprichii. Sedangkan indeks keanekaragaman, keseragaman dan dominansi jenis lamun ke tiga stasiun pengamatan menunjukkan kategori yang rendah.

Abstract

Research on the diversity index, uniformity, and dominance of seagrass in Ketapang waters was carried out in November 2021. The method used in this study was a direct field experiment using a quadrant transect measuring 50x50 cm. The results showed that there were four types of seagrasses, namely Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halophila ovalis. Seagrass species C. rotundata is the type found at each observation station, so it can be said that this species can live well in the characteristics of Ketapang waters. The average diversity index, uniformity, and dominance of seagrass species in Ketapang waters were dominated by C. rotundata and E. acoroides.

Abstract

Ekosistem lamun adalah salah satu ekosistem laut dangkal yang mempunyai peranan penting dalam kehidupan biota laut dan merupakan salah satu ekosistem bahari yang paling produktif. Ekosistem lamun saat ini kurang mendapat perhatian dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang fungsi ekosistem lamun. Akibatnya, upaya masyarakat dalam menjaga kelestarian ekosistem ini sangat minim bahkan terkadang dianggap sebagai tanaman pengganggu, sehingga akhirnya diabaikan atau dimusnahkan. Penelitian in bertujuan menjabarkan kajian ekologi struktur komunitas lamun di perairan Dusun Ketapang, Kecamatan Sekotong Barat, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah percobaan langsung di lapangan dengan mengguanakan teknik pengambilan contoh secara purposive sampling Pengamatan struktur komunitas lamun menggunakan transek kuadran berukuran 50x50 cm dengan jumlah stasiun yang ditetapkan sebanyak 3 (tiga) stasiun. Jarak dan tata letak stasiun berdasarkan pendekatan habitat mangrove, lamun, dan terumbu karang dengan pengulangan sebanyak tiga kail, sehingga dalam penelitian ini terdapat 9 (sembilan) transek kuadran. Adapun terkait pengukuran kualitas air dilakukan secara in situ. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 jenis lamun, yaitu Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, dan Halophila ovalis. Struktur komunitas lamun seperti kerapatan, frekuensi, dan penutupan maupun kontribusinya di perairan Dusun Ketapang didominasi oleh jenis Cymodocea rotundata.  The seagrass ecosystem is one of the shallow marine ecosystems that has an important role in the life of marine life and is one of the most productive marine ecosystems. Seagrass ecosystems are currently receiving less attention due to the lack of public knowledge about their functions of seagrass ecosystems. As a result, the community's efforts to preserve this ecosystem are minimal, and sometimes they are considered nuisance plants, so they are eventually ignored or destroyed. This study aims to describe an ecological study of the structure of the seagrass community in the waters of Ketapang Hamlet, West Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency. The method used in this research is a direct experiment in the field by using a sampling technique using purposive sampling. Observation of the structure of the seagrass community using a quadrant transect measuring 50x50 cm with a set number of 3 (three) stations. The distance and layout of the station are based on the approach of mangrove, seagrass, and coral reef habitats with three hooks repeating so that in this study there were 9 (nine) quadrant transects. As for the measurement of water quality carried out in situ. The results showed that there were 4 types of seagrass, namely Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halophila ovalis. Abstract

Ikan Patin (Pangasius sp.) adalah salah satu jenis ikan air tawar yang bernilai ekonomis penting dalam industri perikanan budidaya. Namun proses budidaya intensif dengan padat tebar tinggi yang disertai dengan pengelolaan air yang tidak baik, dapat menurunkan kualitas air sehingga mengakibatkan stres dan kesehatan ikan terganggu. Oleh karena itu penelitian penggunaan bakteri fotosintetik (Rhodobacter sp. dan Rhodococcus sp.) pada kolam budidaya ikan patin bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kondisi kualitas air. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak kelompok, dengan dua perlakuan dan satu kontrol dan masing-masing perlakuan tiga ulangan : A = 0,2 ml/l, B = 0,5 ml/l, dan C = Kontrol (tanpa bakteri fotosintetik). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian bakteri fotosintetik pada kolam budidaya ikan patin  berpengaruh baik terhadap proses perbaikan kualitas air, yang ditunjukan dengan optimalnya nilai kualitas air yaitu parameter suhu, pH, oksigen terlarut dan adanya penurunan nilai Total Organic Matter yang disebabkan oleh adanya proses bioremediasi yang dilakukan oleh bakteri fotosintetik.   Catfish (Pangasius sp.) is a type of freshwater fish that has important economic value in the aquaculture industry. However, the intensive cultivation process with high stocking densities, accompanied by poor water management, can reduce water quality, resulting in stress and disturbed fish health. Therefore research on the use of photosynthetic bacteria (Rhodobacter sp. and Rhodococcus sp.) in catfish culture ponds aims to improve water quality conditions. The design used was a randomized block design, with two treatments and one control and three replications for each treatment: A = 0.2 ml/l, B = 0.5 ml/l, and C = control (without photosynthetic bacteria). The results showed that the application of photosynthetic bacteria to catfish culture ponds had a good effect on the process of improving water quality, which was indicated by the optimal water quality values, namely the parameters of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and a decrease in the value of Total Organic Matter caused by the bioremediation process carried out by photosynthetic bacteria.

Abstract

The Bahoi coastal area has long been used for various economic activities, such as recreational locations or marine tourism. In addition, the Bahoi coastal community also carries out a lot of activities in the seagrass ecosystem, if these activities are carried out continuously it will have a negative impact on the sustainability of the seagrass ecosystem as a habitat for various types of aquatic biota such as fish. This study aims to determine the composition of fish species and the ecology of seagrass ecosystems in Bahoi coastal waters, West Likupang District, North Sulawesi. The results of the composition of fish species found in Bahoi waters consist of fish families and genera found in seagrass ecosystems consisting of 15 namely Siganidae, Plostosidae, Pomacentridae, Labridae, Clupeidae, Apogonidae, Carangidae, Lutjanidae, Nemipteridae, Balistidae, Athenomoridae, Achanturidae, Scaridae, Zanclidae, and Tetraodontidae. The highest fish species composition was shown by the Pomacentridae family, namely 57.2% and Siganidae 44.9%. The results of measuring the value of the community structure obtained show that seagrass ecosystems in coastal Bahoi waters have a fish community structure in a stable condition. The types of seagrass found varied, consisting of 6 species with mixed vegetation. The highest seagrass density and the cover was shown by the large seagrass species, namely Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii. Overall, seagrass cover in Bahoi waters is classified as a very rich seagrass cover. Dominance index of fish species in Bahoi coastal waters is dominated by the families Pomacentridae and Siganidae.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLamun merupakan tumbuhan yang dipengaruhi oleh komposisi jenis substrat di daerah mangrove dan terumbu karang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kerapatan dan tutupan jenis lamun di perairan pantai Ketapang, Kecamatan Sekotong Barat, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode transek kuadrat yang berukuran 50x50 cm2 pada tiga lokasi yang berbeda. Stasiun 1 dekat habitat mangrove, stasiun 2 habitat lamun dan stasiun 3 dekat dengan terumbu karang. Hasil penelitian terdapat 4 jenis lamun yang ditemukan yaitu Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, dan Halophila ovalis. Kerapatan dan tutupan jenis lamun tertinggi ditunjukkan pada jenis Cymodocea rotundata pada stasiun 1 dan 2 sedangkan pada stasiun 3 jenis lamun yang memiliki kerapatan dan tutupan tertinggi adalah jenis Enhalus acoroides. Secara keseluruhan tutupan jenis lamun di perairan pantai Ketapang tergolong dalam kategori sedang. This research was conducted to determine the density and cover of seagrass species in the coastal waters of Ketapang, West Sekotong District, and West Lombok Regency. This study used the quadratic transect method measuring 50x50 cm2 at three different locations. Station 1 is near the mangrove habitat, station 2 is the seagrass habitat, and station 3 is close to coral reefs. The results of the study found that 4 types of seagrass were found, namely Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halophila ovalis. The highest density and cover of seagrass species were shown in Cymodocea rotundata at stations 1 and 2, while at station 3 the seagrass species that had the highest density and cover was Enhalus acoroides. Abstract

Kaung Island has the potential for seagrass ecosystems which are important ecosystems for the survival of various types of aquatic biota. Rahmawati et al., (2014) said that seagrass damage is caused by natural and human factors, especially those who are active in coastal areas. This is due to a lack of understanding and public awareness. As for the things that need to be done for the sustainability of seagrass ecosystems, namely by providing understanding to the community starting from identifying species, benefits and monitoring or data collection. The purpose of this service activity is to provide understanding to the community regarding seagrass ecology which includes types, benefits, status and threats as well as monitoring the condition of seagrass ecosystems. The method used in this service is in the form of counseling by resource persons and discussions regarding the role of seagrass ecosystems and the damage they face, as well as how to monitor seagrass cover. The results of the community service activities show that the community is very enthusiastic about being actively involved in efforts to manage seagrass ecosystems and monitoring results show that seagrass conditions at the location are included in the less rich category with a percentage of 37.5% with the highest percentage of species cover shown by Enhalus acoroides and Thalassia hemprichii. It is necessary to carry out transplant activities which are an effort to overcome the problem of the condition of the seagrass ecosystem in Mutiara Beach so that the function of the seagrass ecosystem can be ecologically sustainable, considering that the seagrass ecosystem in the area provides economic services to the people in the coastal area of Mutiara Beach. Service activities are very beneficial to the community, and have changed their mindset such as their understanding and awareness.

Abstract

Pantai Ketapang berada di wilayah perairan pesisir Kecamatan Sekotong Barat, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Wilalyah perairan yang menjadi tempat bagi biota laut untuk mencari makan dan melakukan pemijahan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2021 di perairan pesisir pantai Ketapang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif eksploratif. Titik pengambilan data dibagi menjadi 3 stasiun, setiap stasiun diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Pengambilan data kualitas air meliputi suhu, salinitas, pH dan oksigen terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan suhu berkisar 28-29°C, Salinitas berkisar 32.7-33 ppt, pH berkisar 7.3-7.5, dan oksigen terlarut berkisar antara 7.3-7.8 mg/L. Kualitas perairan pesisir Pantai Ketapang berdasarkan PP No. 22 Tahun 2021 masih memenuhi standar baku mutu kehidupan organisme maupun biota perairan serta ekosistem dan wisata bahari.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas konsentrasi nitrat terbaik untuk kepadatan Chaetoceros sp. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-November 2011 di PT Bibit Unggul Dusun Lempenge Desa Rempek Kecamatan Gangga Kabupaten Lombok Utara Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) menggunakan enam konsentrasi perlakuan nitrat dan tiga kali pengulangan sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan. Adapun percobaan perlakuan konsentrai nitrat 0 ppm (K1), 100 ppm/L (K2), 125 ppm/L (K3), 150 ppm/L (K4), 175 ppm/L (K5), dan 200 ppm/L (K6). Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi kepadatan Chaetoceros sp dan parameter kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kepadatan tertinggi ditunjukkan pada perlakuan konsentrasi nitrat 200 ppm/L namun tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata. Parameter kualitas air dalam penelitian menujukkan nilai yang masih sesuai untuk pertumbuhan chaetoceros sp.

Abstract

Sungai Tiu Kele merupakan salah satu sungai yang menyimpan keanekaragaman hayati iktiofauna yang sejauh ini belum diungkap secara ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk pendataan awal jenis-jenis ikan dan karakteristik habitanya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulam Mei 2023 di Sungai Tiu Kele Desa Marente, Kecamatan Alas, kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Hasil penelitian didtemukan satu ekor jenis Stiphodon semoni yang termasuk famili gobiidae dengan karakteristik habitat dangkal dengan substrat berbatu
