Abstract

This research was doing to know the effect of STAD method to improve exstensive reading texs ability students of MTsS Halaban in 2014-2015 academic year. The population and sample of this research the students of eight class. The research method used is descriptive method. The data gathering by using observation, triangulation, and full participant. Analysis of the data qualitative and also by using numeric and percentace. Research design used is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting was consist of three cycles. The result of the three cycles showed the improvement of students’ average score. The students’ average score in Pre-Test were 48,27; at the end of the first cycle the students’ average scores were 64,00; at the test of the second cycle students’ average score achieve 82,70; and at the last test of the third cycle students’ average score achieve 86,70. It means that the STAD method in learning activities can improve reading extensive texs ability.

Abstract

Currently, preaching is no longer limited to being present in a gathering or discussion room directly, but can also be delivered through daring or digital media that has developed rapidly. Preaching through sosial media such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, for example, is often done in cartoon films. The purpose of this studi is to determine the meaning of denotation, connotation also a myth in the animated film CulapCulip. By using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory to analyze or describe the meaning contained in the animated images, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method used by the researcher was by recording also watching the animated film CulapCulip with the theme of tolerance. The results of this studi indicate that the most appropriate analysis theory to apply in studying a film is Roland Barthes' semiotics. With the aim that the meaning contained in each scene can be easily understood related to the use of denotation, connotation, also myth in the animated film CulapCulip. The researcher studied six scenes including the story of offerings, kicking, until shaking hands to prove it.
