Abstract

The tradition of going down the bath is not something that is done without the meaning behind it. A group of people carry out a custom or tradition without knowing the meaning of the custom itself which results in the community not understanding about the customs themselves. Therefore, it is feared that people's ignorance of these customs and especially the influence of foreign cultures into regional cultures, so that the cultural values contained in them will fade slowly. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The findings of the semiotics review study are signs, emblems, and cues. Semiotic surveys are found in a series of events in the tradition of going down and down bathing in Tanah Garam Village of Solok City. In the data that has been obtained in the study, that the semiotics review of the series of events in the tradition of going down the bath in Tanah Garam Village of Solok City there are 59 data in total, signs (sign) there are 21 data, symbols (symbols) are contained 19 data, and the signal (signal/index) contained 19 data. The three components are interconnected signs, symbols, and signal in the study of semiotics cannot be separated from each other.

Abstract

The background of the research is about the analysis of speech act characters in Cinta 2 Kodi Novel (Pragmatic Study) because in the novel a lot of dialogue can be included into directive speech act category. The purpose of this research is to describe the analysis of directive speech act of characters in Cinta 2 Kodi Novel by Asma Nadia which is requestives speech act, question speech act, requirement speech act, probobitives speech act, permissive speech act, and advisories speech act. This research is a qualitative research. In the research, it is found 104 data about the analyze of directive speech act in Cinta 2 Kodi novel, which is 11 requestives speech act, 39 question speech act, 27 requirement speech act, 1 probobitives speech act, 3 permissives speech act, and 23 advisories speech act. From the result of the research, it is clear that the most prominent speech act used is question speech act. This is caused by the question speech act is always occurs in every communication between the speaker and the speaker partner. Every interaction in communicating always requires an answer or explanation. That what makes question speech act is always prominent in every conversation. The result of this research also proved that every communication between 2 people (speaker and speaker partner) will success if thw speaker partner understand what the speaker try to deliver.

Abstract

The background of this research is that the people of Nagari Kubang Nan Duo, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency, do not understand figurative eating itself. The manggodok tradition is not something that is done without any meaning behind it. A group of people carry out a custom or tradition without understanding the meaning of the custom itself which results in the community not understanding the series of customs themselves. Therefore, it is feared that there will be ignorance in the regional culture so that the cultural values ​​in it will fade and disappear slowly. The purpose of this research is to describe the figurative meaning of the manggodok tradition in Nagari Kubang Nan Duo, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency (Semantic Review). This type of research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The object of this research is the Manggodok tradition in Nagari Kubang Nan Duo, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency (Semantic Review). The steps for collecting data in this study are as follows: 1) Researchers carry out field observations by coming directly to the house where the manggodok tradition is carried out. 2) Doing documentation or taking photos in the manggodok tradition in Nagari Kubang Nan duo, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency. 3) interviewing and recording informants' speeches as well as asking questions about the manggodok tradition. 4) Record the results of the interviews that have been interviewed. The findings of the semantic review research are idioms, expressions, and proverbs. Based on the data obtained in the research, the figurative meaning in the manggodok nagari tradition of Kubang Nan Duo, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency (Semantic Study) contains a total of 46 data, 20 idiom data, 17 expression data, and 9 proverb data. These semiotic studies cannot be separated from one another. It is hoped that the community will be able to preserve and apply figurative meanings in the series of manggodok nagari Kubang Nan Duo traditions, Payuang Sekaki District, Solok Regency.
