Abstract

Students' multi-representational understanding in understanding glasses needs to be raised by educators in various forms of presenting information so that students are able to understand an abstract problem to become concrete in all realms of reflection. One way to apply learning with a multi-representational approach can have a positive influence on students' cognitive abilities which include low cognitive levels and high cognitive levels. The purpose of this research is to develop an e-module of  based on multiple representations for high school students' abstract thinking skills. This is to determine the success of module development that has been designed in such a way. The research method used is research and development or research and development. The model used in the development of this e-module is a 4D model which consists of four stages of development, name define, design, develop, and disseminate. The stages used in the development of this e-module reach the develop stage, due to research limitations and in accordance with the research objectives, namely the development of e-modules. From the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that several representation-based e-modules to improve the abstract thinking skills of high school students that have been compiled are of good quality and still need to be achieved. . The average test results of material validation experts stated that the module was in the good category with an average value of 3.5 on a Likert scale, then for the media validation results it was also with an average of 3.5 and said to be in a good category

Abstract

This development research aims to determine whether the PjBL-based physics experiment e-module product is suitable for use by students. This research is a type of research and development (R&D) which refers to the four-D (4D) model which consists of 4 stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Feasibility data was taken by utilizing a questionnaire filled in by 2 material validators and 2 media validators. The average value of media validation by validator 1 is 3.841 and validator 2 is 3.300. While the average value of material validation by validator 1 is 3.25 and validator 2 is 3.75. So that with the average value that has been obtained and refers to the range of values <3.25 – 4, it can be concluded that the PjBL-based physics experiment e-module is stated to be very good and suitable for use by students.

Abstract

Abstract

Teaching physics is sometimes difficult to convey without using props or visualizations. Simulations can help teachers create and demonstrate real conditions in front of the class. In this article, we describe the usage of spreadsheets in simulating Gibbs free energy in mixing polymer solutions. We have created an model for the simulation consisting of a main spreadsheet and several secondary spreadsheets. A spreadsheet was chosen to simulate Gibbs free energy because spreadsheets can perform numerical representations in tables. This simple simulation can be used when discussing the topic of polymer thermodynamics. Teachers can start by deriving mathematical equations and then show simulations to visualize the equations. Another option is for students to be asked to create their simulations after deriving a mathematical equation. Using simulation in learning can make learning more interactive and help students understand material physics subjects more easily. Spreadsheets can be an alternative for teachers when explaining abstract material to students. Furthermore, simulations with spreadsheets can also support physics learning remotely.
