Abstract

Papua is one of the provinces that has received special autonomy funds from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. This policy's main objective is to increase Papua's human development index. The fact is that the human development index in Papua has not increased significantly. This is related to the work culture of implementing the policy, which is not yet optimal. Given that some policy implementers are Christians, it is very important to explore the concept of work culture according to Christian teachings so that it can guide them. This research aims to explore Christian teachings about work culture and their relevance in the management of the special autonomy policy in Papua. The method used is a literature study. The results of the study show that there are four aspects of work culture in Christian teaching that are relevant to optimally implemented in implementing the special autonomy policy in Papua. The four work cultures are work motivation, work goals, work functions, and forms of work that are pleasing in the eyes of God.

Abstract

This research examines the role of parents and the church in fostering children's motivation to participate in learning at Sunday School at the Sentani Klasis Indonesian Christian Church. The research method used is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. The procedure for collecting data is through questionnaires, interviews, and observation techniques. Research participants were parents and Sunday School teachers, as well as 30 Sunday School children. The research results show that children are strongly motivated to participate in Sunday School learning but face several obstacles. The first obstacle is the lack of parental support in technical matters and in providing motivation. The second obstacle is the church's lack of optimal efforts to facilitate learning in Sunday School, from the curriculum not yet being implemented to the lack of available learning tools to the teacher's lack of skills in using creative learning methods. Apart from that, parents and teachers have not communicated intensively regarding Sunday School learning. Therefore, so that Sunday School learning at GKI Klasis Sentani can run well and motivate children to be more active in participating in Sunday School learning, parents and the church need to increase their respective roles well.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to evaluate the existence of the core elements of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) method implemented at SMTK Gloria Sentani, along with the impact felt by students if it is not applied inclusively and holistically. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with a thematic approach. To validate the data, the researcher applied data triangulation sourced from interviews, observations, and document reviews. In analyzing the data, the researcher applied the Miles and Huberman method, which involves data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and analysis. The analysis focuses on the existence and absence of the 5 core elements in the CTL method, which include relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, and transferring. The results obtained from this research indicate that 3 elements—experiencing, applying, and transferring—are not included, whereas relating and cooperating are included. The impact felt when the CTL elements are not applied holistically is that students do not think creatively and innovatively, do not think critically, and learning outcomes tend not to be achieved. The t fundamental reason for not implementing the CTL method inclusively and holistically is the factor of readiness to learn and students’ background.

Abstract

The challenge of understanding the meaning of Easter in the context of moderate religious life is significant in accommodating the plurality of beliefs. Easter symbolizes transformation, forgiveness, and hope for humanity. Understanding these symbols can be a meeting point between various religious beliefs in a moderate religious life. Through important activities such as PkM in helping teenagers (BP. PAR) and Christian youth (BP. PAM) at the GKI Hermon Hollo Him congregation integrate Easter values in daily life and become witnesses of Christ in society. Activities are carried out using lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer methods. Through PkM, BP. PAR and BP. PAM GKI Hermon Hollo Him managed to deepen their understanding of the meaning of Easter, broaden their horizons about moderate religious life, and strengthen the concept of inclusiveness in the congregation. This improves relationships with God and others and enriches their contribution to society with the values of love, tolerance, and inclusiveness.

Abstract

This community engagement program responds to the declining participation of young congregants in meaningful worship at GKI Hermon Hollo Him. The activity aimed to strengthen the role of young liturgists and nurture the spiritual formation of the youth fellowship. Using a structured approach, including needs assessment, contextual material design, lectures, demonstrations, guided practice, and reflective discussions, the program equipped participants with theological insight and practical liturgical skills. Evaluation was conducted through questionnaires to measure comprehension and responses toward the training. The results show a marked improvement: most participants gained a deeper understanding of liturgy as a transformative encounter with God and demonstrated increased confidence in leading worship. The program successfully integrated theological learning and liturgical practice, enabling young members to serve with greater awareness, competence, and spiritual maturity. In conclusion, the activity effectively empowered youth as active agents in realizing meaningful and life-giving worship within the congregation.
