Abstract

Abstract: Every literary work created conveys certain messages about social life from the author's point of view, these messages may be the author's way of addressing real social problems. Social criticism contributed to clarifying this issue. Social criticism will show readers that every literary work is a mirror of social and cultural life.The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of social criticism in the short story "Lailatu Zifaf (wedding night) by Najib Kailani from the perspective of literary sociology. This research uses a sociology of literature approach that focuses on the theory of social criticism. The data collection technique used in this research is note-taking technique. The data that has been collected was analyzed using a descriptive method with content analysis. The data source of this research is the short story “Lailatu Zifaf (wedding night) by Najib Kailani. The results showed the forms of social criticism in the short story "Lailatu Zifaf (wedding night) by Najib Kailani, namely (1) social criticism of forced marriages, (2) social criticism of the barbarity of husbands against their wives, (3) social criticism of the perceived position of women lower than men. And there are two forms of delivery of social criticism in this short story, namely (1) direct delivery, and (2) indirect delivery.

Abstract

The use of pragmatic strategies in the world of journalism is very influential on the creation of interesting language such as headlines. The pragmatic strategy that is often used in headlines is illocutionary, especially in political and economic news headlines, for this reason the author wants to discuss the illocutionary speech act strategy in terms of its types and functions in news headlines on the “BBC News Arabic YouTube channel” on March 29 – April 2022. This research includes qualitative descriptive research. The method of data collection in this research used the observation and written documents. The results of this research are (1) the types of illocutionary speech acts in political news headlines and economics on the YouTube channel "BBC" News Arabic on March 29 - April 1 2022 namely direct illocutionary speech acts and indirect illocutionary speech acts.(2) Direct illocutionary speech acts in political news headlines and economics on the YouTube channel "BBC" News Arabic on March 29 - April 1 2022 It has functions, among others, assertif to explain and inform, while the indirect illocutionary act functions in it are expressive to criticize, expressive to wonder, expressive to be concerned and directives to warn.

Abstract

Land is the most basic need for humanity since human life cannot exist apart from the soil. The Indonesian state is progressively seeing changes in the structure of land ownership rights, which is followed by the publication of land rules. Understanding of the early proof of ownership of land rights between the community and government entities in conflict zones,. Based on the legality of proof of ownership of legal property rights, namely a certificate, this creates a gap both vertically and horizontally, but in order to issue a certificate, it must be preceded by initial evidence of ownership such as letter C books, SPPT, and other evidence available at the village level, according to the Law. The Fifth Basic Agrarian Law of 1960. What is the strength of the evidence for quoting the village letter C book in gaining rights, and what is the method for obtaining land rights, and what is the status of ownership of land rights with proof of village letter C quotes.

Abstract

The use of Javanese language has encountered some shifts that require language documentation as a form of language conservation for the youth. This research aims to collect and describe semantic fields and semantic components of lexemes related to an activity of hurting head using hand in Javanese language in Jepara regency. The researchers also attempt to illuminate the connection between the study of semantic field and an attempt to conserve local language in globalization era. The data of this study was collected through an interview with Javanese native speakers in Jepara. The findings suggest that there are 16 lexemes related to the activity of hurting head using hand in Javanese language. Those lexemes are classified into two fields, namely an activity of hurting head by hitting and pulling. Each of semantic fields is further described based on a diagnostic component. Based on the diagnostic components, this study discovers three components to distinguish each of lexemes: the part of the hand used for hurting, the direction of hand for hurting, and the part of the head being hurt. Besides language documentation purposes, this semantic field research can also be used as a reference in society and an attempt to preserve local languages from the threat of endangerment.

Abstract

Bonek Mania and the Jak Mania are two very fanatical football supporter communities in Indonesia. They have different variations of jargon that reflect the identity of the community. Several factors influence the variations in jargon language. This research aims to describe the jargon of Bonek Mania and the Jak Mania football supporters, including analyzing the forms, meanings, and function of its uses and the factors of jargon differences between them. In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. The data collected by the researchers consists of words or terms in units of words, phrases, sentences, and acronyms. The collection of jargon is obtained from communication between football supporters Bok Mania and Jak Mania on social media comments on Instagram posts, @officialpersebaya account, and @persija account, and when researchers tribunal directly at the stadium. The results of this study indicate that the jargon used by Bok Mania and the Jak Mania supporters both tend to function to encourage and criticize their respective teams. In terms of form, the jargon used by Bonek Mania supporters combines Javanese and Arabic, although there is also English. Meanwhile, the jargon used by the Jak Mania supporters tends to combine Indonesian and English. Several factors influence these differences, including social and environmental factors, regional language, club logos and nicknames, and local cultural culture. This research can be used as a reference for the general public who wants to know the purpose, function, and factors behind the variations in the jargon of bonek mania and the jak mania.
