Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to carry out the obligations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education as well as a form of concern and humanitarian mission for victims of earthquakes and landslides, especially children. Children as victims of natural disasters have their own trauma and this requires special attention and assistance. Moreover, based on the results of interviews and initial observations at the disaster site, storytelling activities and story books for children are still needed. This service method is a mentoring method which consists of four stages, namely the stages of socialization, preparation, implementation and preparation of reports as a form of evaluation. The results obtained from this activity were that the children felt happy and the team of volunteers also felt helped by the activity ideas and story books given because they felt there was still a lack of education staff at the disaster site

Abstract

Bullying is one of the problems often experienced by elementary school students and can negatively affect children’s psychological, social, and academic development. Therefore, preventive efforts are needed through educational activities that are interesting and easily understood by children. This community service activity aimed to increase students’ understanding of bullying prevention through the storytelling method at a Private Islamic Elementary School. The activity was carried out using socialization, storytelling sessions, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer methods involving elementary school students as participants. The storytelling method was chosen because it is able to convey moral values in an engaging, enjoyable, and age-appropriate way for children. The results of the activity showed that students became more aware of the forms of bullying, the impacts caused by bullying behavior, and the importance of respecting and helping one another. Students also demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation during the activity. In conclusion, the storytelling method can be an effective educational medium in bullying prevention efforts among elementary school students because it helps students understand moral messages more easily and fosters positive character development from an early age.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran guru sebagai fasilitator dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi guru dan siswa sekolah dasar. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan, dan diuji keabsahannya melalui triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sebagai fasilitator telah diterapkan, namun belum maksimal. Hal ini terlihat dari keterbatasan variasi media dan metode pembelajaran serta kecenderungan pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru. Selain itu, terdapat hambatan berupa keterbatasan sumber informasi, media pembelajaran, dan waktu dalam merancang pembelajaran yang inovatif. Dengan demikian, peran guru sebagai fasilitator perlu ditingkatkan melalui pengembangan kompetensi, pemanfaatan media pembelajaran yang kreatif, serta penggunaan metode yang lebih bervariasi agar pembelajaran IPA menjadi lebih efektif dan bermakna bagi siswa.
