Abstract

Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah (AW) and Aswaja theology are covered in this article. As a religious institution, AW acknowledges Aswaja’s ideology as the foundation for its mission. To maintain and develop Aswaja theology, AW utilizes educational institutions and recitation of the kitab kuning (yellow book) as a knowledge production for Aswaja theology. A question concerning the state of educational institutions today and the recitation of the Yellow Book at AW in Medan City was posed in order to comprehend the information presented. A case study about AW in Medan City is the qualitative research methodology that is employed. In addition, leaders, religious authorities, educators, and AW-related documents make up the primary  data source. According to his research, educational institutions that regularly support Aswaja books undergo internal changes and come to terms with the reality that teachers, or ustadh, are becoming less and less proficient in the classics. Additionally, a number of the study’s leaders—who were specialists in classic literature—passed away, which caused a setback to the kitab kuning study. Thus there was a downturn in the study of the kitab kuning. The results verify the weakening of the apparatus in AW that produces Aswaja theology.

Abstract

Drug abuse refers to the non-medical use of narcotics and other addictive substances that may lead to substance dependence and adversely affect individuals' physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. This study examines the da'wah management practices of the Majelis Da'wah Islamiyah (Islamic Propagation Council) in providing religious counseling and rehabilitation for victims of drug abuse in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the Council systematically applies the core functions of da'wah management—planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation—in delivering its rehabilitation programs. Religious guidance is conducted through both preventive and curative approaches, incorporating activities such as Islamic lectures, congregational prayers, dhikr (remembrance of God), Qur'anic recitation, Islamic counseling, religious study circles, and Friday sermons. These interventions contribute to positive behavioral transformation, strengthen participants' spiritual awareness, and improve their relationships with family members and the wider community. The findings underscore the potential of faith-based da'wah management as an effective complementary approach to the social and spiritual rehabilitation of individuals recovering from drug abuse

Abstract

This research investigates the implications of halal product certification for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the food and beverage sector across West Angkola and South Tapanuli Regencies. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was gathered from key informants, including the District Secretary, the Head of the Religious Affairs Office, a Halal Product Certification Process Facilitator (P3H), and MSME business owners, both certified and non-certified.The findings reveal that while MSMEs have a deep conceptual understanding of “halal,” which includes both Shariah principles and the concept of thayyib (good and clean), there is a significant gap between this understanding and the formal procedural knowledge required for certification. Despite government socialization efforts, many MSMEs are reluctant to apply for certification due to a lack of information, a perception of high costs, and time constraints. In contrast, proactive MSMEs are motivated by direct support from P3H facilitators, whose role proves crucial in bridging this knowledge gap. Halal certification brings tangible benefits to MSMEs: it boosts consumer trust and loyalty by serving as a mark of credibility and quality assurance, expands market access locally, regionally, and nationally, and indirectly encourages business owners to improve their business quality and professionalism. The study concludes that socialization alone is insufficient without intensive, personalized facilitation and assistance from parties like P3H. This direct support is essential for helping MSMEs overcome practical barriers and encouraging them to take proactive steps toward obtaining halal certification.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a mandatory program at most universities in Indonesia. The main goal of this program is to provide practical experience, improve social skills, and develop community. This program creates opportunities for knowledge exchange between students and the community, which can provide long-term benefits for both parties. Education is the process of learning and developing knowledge, skills, values, and understanding, carried out in formal or informal settings. It is a crucial factor in the development of individuals and society as a whole. Early childhood character education aims to develop children's potential from an early age and shape students' personalities with a spirit of caring for others, implementing their knowledge, especially in the field of education, and playing an active role in community life. The teaching methods used include quizzes, tests or practice questions, and interaction or question and answer sessions. Then, they begin learning together at school and independently at home by giving homework.

Abstract

Community service activities through the Community Service Program (KKN) provide opportunities for university students to participate directly in solving social and community development issues. This article discusses the implementation of KKN activities in Daulu Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency, focusing on strengthening religious moderation and flower cultivation. The activities were designed to encourage social harmony, mutual respect, community participation, and environmental awareness while also introducing flower cultivation as a potential activity that can support the local economy. The implementation used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, participation, informal discussions, and documentation during the KKN activities. The results indicate that religious moderation activities can be strengthened through social interaction, cooperation, mutual respect, and activities involving community members regardless of differences. Meanwhile, flower cultivation activities encouraged community participation in utilizing the surrounding environment and introduced opportunities for productive activities based on local potential. The combination of religious, social, environmental, and economic activities shows that KKN can serve as a means of community empowerment that is not limited to one sector. These activities are expected to provide an initial foundation for sustainable community participation and encourage the continuation of similar programs after the KKN period ends.
