Abstract

The term disciple in Matthew 28:19 has a deep theological meaning. The term inspired the birth of the missionary work carried out by the church. As a result, the church continues to grow throughout the world. Uniquely, the command to make disciples is only recorded by the Gospel of Matthew, not recorded in the other two Synoptic Gospels. It is necessary to carry out an in-depth study of the concept of discipleship recorded by Matthew. In addition, there are some grammatical errors that Matthew uses, giving rise to a prejudice that the idea in Matthew 28:16-20 is invalid. Then, the long period of time between the events recorded and the year of writing is also a special problem in responding to the idea of making disciples of nations. Allegedly, the author's motivation is the key in understanding the use of the term "matheteusate". The study of the grammatical elements, the historical and cultural context of the Jews as well as historiographical observations are relevant ways in finding the reason why Matthew uses the term, "matheteusate" at the end of his Gospel. This study aims to find the basic idea used by Matthew in relation to the term “disciple the nations”. As a result, readers of the Gospel of Matthew will not be trapped in a Christian mission methodology, but will understand the nature of the Christian mission inherited by Jesus himself.

Abstract

The Colossian congregation lived in a Greco-Roman household culture that was thick with the hegemonic masculinity of the head of the family, so that wives, children and slaves experienced arbitrary treatment. Christianity certainly does not allow this kind of thing to happen in Christian households. This article attempts to prove that Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 was used by Paul to deal with hegemonic masculinity at that time. The method used is epistolary genre hermeneutics. A study of Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 by paying attention to structure, grammar, and cultural context shows that Paul uses an inferior-superior formula in the structure of household rules, gives new values to the roles of each member, and bases all actions on the superiority of Christ. Paul still respected the existence of the existing social hierarchy but modified it in terms of values and practices.

Abstract

Acts 6:1-7 shows the grim history of Christianity regarding internal church conflicts. Racial issues were the root of the conflict in the early congregation. The leadership provided by the apostles chosen by Jesus at that time succeeded in achieving a common consensus in resolving the conflict. Bright spots and resolutions do not just appear, there are processes and patterns that emerge. A human resource leadership management model is a milestone in ending the congregation's problems. Acts 6:1-7 shows a model of good collaboration between leaders and servants accompanied by actions according to their respective functions that are integrated with each other.  The method used is a descriptive qualitative method. This model is based on three main keys, namely leadership character, recruitment process, and integrated services. In the end, congregation leaders as well as servants are called to equip themselves and understand the importance of human resource leadership management as a solution to the problems that exist in the congregation. The implication that will be felt is the growth of the congregation in quality and quantity.AbstrakKisah Para Rasul 6:1-7 menunjukkan sejarah suram Kekristenan berkenaan dengan konflik internal jemaat. Abstract

This study aims to find Paul's biblical solutions to the problems of the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 10:1-33. The Corinthians has faced the domination of Greco-Roman religions, that affected their Christians faith. This study tries to approach the text by using a general interpretation approach, followed by an epistolary interpretation approach. A narrative parallelism approach as a literary device is used to conclude the meaning of 1 Corinthians 10:1-33. Paul's use of parallelism in 1 Corinthians 10:1-33 renders principles of the Christian faith in several points. First, fellowship with God will not be managed only through participation in the Baptism sacrament and Eucharist sacramen without a commitment to live holy before Him. Second, Christian freedom is not based on legal knowledge, but on how that legal knowledge can help to grow other people's faith and results to their salvation. Third, there is a need for discipline for believers in sustaining a commitment to communion with God. For communion can never take place without a commitment to God.
